SEPTEMBER 18, 2014

 

Officers responded to a report of illegal drug activity at the Carolina Lodge at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a female tenant who left the area prior to the Officer's arrival.  She was soon after located sitting on the side of Highway 278 at the entrance to Oak Plantation Commons where she was identified as Kelli Kintz who was found to be intoxicated during the course of the interview.  She was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A disturbance was reported at a construction site at the corner of Sycamore Drive and Grahamville Road after a disgruntled worker began throwing items during an argument.  No charges were filed after the subject was ordered to leave the property.

 

A blue 2005 Ecovan vacuum tanker truck was stolen from the I-95 South truck parking area around the 17 mile marker sometime between 8:30 pm on September 17th and 10:30 am September 18th.  The truck is described as missing the front driver's side parking light and has a coiled hose on the front bumper with company logos on the cab and the tank.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Children's Pediatric Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Wiley Street.  No charges were filed.

 

Supervisors at the Christ Central Mission at 11754 North Jacob Smart Boulevard requested assistance in removing a male subject from the property.

 

An animal abuse case was reported at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community after a 15 year old male juvenile was allegedly shooting a dog with a pellet gun.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a subject causing a disturbance and knocking store items onto the floor during an argument with store employees.  Fabian Habersham was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of public disorderly conduct.  During the booking process he was observed attempting to conceal a small bag containing marijuana resulting in an additional charge.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 17, 2014

 

A Motorola CN50 inventory scanner was reported missing from the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.  The complainant stated that the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 pm on Friday September 12th.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male and female engaged in an argument in the parking lot.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to a welfare check of a subject at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community after a family member was unable to reach them. The subject was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

 

A gold Chevy Lumina was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Timothy Dean Bryson, 53 of Central SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for both offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

A Magnavox flat screen television was stolen from an unlocked residence between 9:30 and 10:00 am. 

 

A larceny was reported by a tenant at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after $20 was discovered missing.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South Carolina DMV Office at 407 Live Oak Road.

 

A property damage report was filed at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community in reference to a Chevy Avalanche being damaged with a key by an unknown person.  The damage was first noticed by a family member on Tuesday September 9th; however the complainant was unsure of the exact location where the incident occurred.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A patient at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville was reportedly assaulted at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the York Telecom Phone Store at 10688 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where marks were discovered on the front door indicative of someone attempting to force entry.  No items were reported missing.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 16, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort where a hold had been placed on inmate Johnny Gardner in reference to an oustanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Gardner's charges stemmed from a February 9, 2013 incident where he was stopped for an expired tag violation and crossing the center line on North Green Street.  Further investigation revealed him to be operating under the influence at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where, during the booking  process, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine.  He was then found guilty of the driving under the influence and expired registration charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on February 25, 2013 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

A fight was reported at a residence on Wiley Street after several black males driving a white passenger car, (possibly a Honda Accord or Nissan Altima), reportedly assaulted several subjects at the residence before fleeing the area when 911 was called. Responding Officers were met with little to no cooperation from the alleged victims.

 

A hit and run was reported at the Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the owner of a red Acura found it had been damaged by an unknown vehicle.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a tenant at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to an incident that occurred just prior at the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at a residence on Grahamville Road in reference to a silver Chevy Camaro parked at the residence being involved in a shooting incident on Dogwood Street.

 

A theft was reported by a resident at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street in reference to money being transferred from the complainant's account to the suspect's account without permission or authority.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Julie Lynn Heyward, 52 of Ridgeland, for the offense of financial transaction card fraud.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Ridgeland Palmetto Veterinary Clinic at 409 South Green Street and the South State Bank drive up ATM machine at 10671 South Jacob Smart Bouelvard.

 

A suspicious person was reportedly causing a disturbance at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

Officers responded to the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where Yvonne Latish Mendonca, 29 of Columbia SC, was captured on video attempting to cash a forged check in the amount of $845. She then fled the store in a green Dodge Journey with a Tennessee license plate, leaving behind her South Carolina identification card.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Mendonca for the charge of forgery and she is already listed as a wanted person by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office for an August 25, 2014 forgery case in that jurisdiction.

A harassment report was filed at a residence on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Parker Community in reference to unwanted text messages, phone calls and threatening Facebook messages.  No charges were filed.

 

A 15 year old male juvenile was found to be disoriented and staggering at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail, possibly under the influence of narcotics. Ridgeland Officers requested medic units who soon after transported the juvenile to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.  The incident was forwarded to School Resource Officers.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 15, 2014

 

A harassment complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to the complainant receiving threatening text messages stemming from an incident earlier in the day in Bluffton.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Center at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A male subject reportedly attempted to sell illegal narcotics to a courthouse employee at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

 

A Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on South Logan Street where driver Tanesha Shaw, 27 of Ridgeland, was found to have two unrestrained children inside the vehicle.  During the course of the traffic stop Officers discovered that Shaw was listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to a failure to appear violation on a previous no driver's license in possession charge.  She was cited for the speeding and child restraint violations before being turned over to the custody of Jasper County Deputies for warrant service and transport to the Detention Center.  The vehicle was released to a licensed driver with Shaw's permission.

A suspicious person was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Two male were reportedly involved in a fight in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

Officers responded to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to a pregnant female subject who had reportedly been the victim of domestic violence at a residence on Glover Road.  She was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment as the case was turned over to Jasper County Deputies.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 14, 2014

 

A subject armed with a bat was reportedly attempting to fight two females in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Veterinary Clinic at 409 South Green Street.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was reported by a citizen in reference to two subjects in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Second Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

A white female was reportedly soliciting prostitution in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  She was later reported at the EZ Stop BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive and the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.

 

A disturbance was reported at a residence on Oakridge South in reference to an ex-girlfriend beating on the door and refusing to leave.  No charges were filed.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 13, 2014

 

Patrol Officers discovered James Williams Jr. asleep behind the wheel of a blue Chevy Avalanche with the engine running in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  After waking Williams he was found to be under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of an open container.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Williams is also listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from a September 1, 2014 domestic dispute at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and South Jacob Smart Boulevard in addition to an outstanding disorderly conduct warrant from the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

A fight was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

A trespassing complaint was filed at an event at the Farmer's Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after two Hispanic males reportedly refused to leave despite being told to by event organizers.  No charges were filed.

 

A silver Mitsubishi Galant was stopped for driving without headlights and failure to yield right of way on East Main Street near the Logan Street intersection where driver Jamare Wright was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license for failure to pay traffic tickets.  He was placed under arrest for the offense at which time he was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  Wright was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's took possession of the vehicle.

 

A Toyota Tundra was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.  The driver was flown from the scene to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.

 

A Geo Tracker was stopped for disregarding a stop light at the intersection of West Main and Green Street where driver Beverly Mungin was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license at which time she was placed under arrest.  Front seat passenger Shonda Mungin was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office in reference to a financial transaction card theft and financial transaction card fraud charge.  Further investigation revealed an open container of alcohol which had been poured out onto the passenger side floor board which neither subject claimed responsibility for.  Both were then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.  A hold has been placed on Shonda Mungin pending extradition to Beaufort County.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

A possible assault was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a homeowner confronted a group of subjects at a neighboring household in reference to loud music.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where De'Onte Stevenson, 17 of Ridgeland, and a 16 year old male juvenile had reportedly been engaged in a fight.  The juvenile disengaged from the incident and returned from his apartment moments later armed with a knife as Officers arrived on scene.  Stevenson was cited for public disorderly conduct and assigned a court date as a juvenile petition was filed against the 16 year old charging him with assault which was then forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice for prosecution.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 12, 2014

 

A gray Chevy Impala was stopped for crossing the center line on I-95 North where driver Craig Warren was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with 4 previous driving under suspension convictions in addition to being assigned a habitual traffic offender status by the Department of Motor Vehicles.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A disturbance was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street in reference to an estranged spouse shouting harassing comments at an employee.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Hagin Drive where Darrell Grayson was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of criminal domestic violence.

 

A Ford F150 pick up and a Toyota mini van were involved in a collision at the intersection of Adams Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort where a hold had been placed on inmate John Henry Washington in reference to outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was then transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Washington's charges stemmed from a May 15, 2014 incident at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest after breaking a tenant's window during a dispute.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 30, 2014 at which time he was found guilty of the charge following a trial in absence resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street in reference to a male subject sleeping behind the business.

 

Officers responded to two separate activated alarms at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles at 407 Live Oak Road.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 11, 2014

 

A silver Chevy Impala being driven by fugitive James Tytil Wright, 28 of Ridgeland, was involved in a high speed vehicle pursuit on I-95 North which began in Hardeeville as Federal Agents attempted to apprehend him.  The pursuit continued into the Ridgeland town limits where spike strip were deployed around the 18 mile marker causing the front passenger side tire to deflate on the suspect vehicle.  Wright then exited the interstate at exit 21 turning right onto Grahamville Road and then striking a utility pole as he attempted to turn left onto Henry Lawton Road. James Wright, Royal Singleton Jr., 23 of Ridgeland, and Mahandus Chaneyfield, 23 of Ridgeland,  all exited the vehicle and fled from the scene on foot.  Singleton and Chaneyfield were quickly apprehended and ultimately transported to the Jasper County Detention Center by Sheriff's Deputies under cocaine and controlled substance charges.  James Tytil Wright remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.  His charges stem from a May 10, 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping on Lady's Island which he was convicted of after being tried in his absence on August 25th of this year when he failed to appear in Beaufort General Sessions Court.

UPDATE:  James Wright was captured on the morning of September 12th hiding at a location in Jasper County.

 

A red Chevy 1500 4x4 single cab pick up containing a Savage Arms rifle and a Ruger hand gun was stolen from North Railroad Avenue sometime between the hours of midnight and 7:00 am.  Hours later, at approximately 10:00 pm, Jasper County Deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Best Western Motel at 3536 Point South Drive where two black males armed with a hand gun and a rifle were captured on surveillance video robbing a male victim in the parking lot and then fleeing the area in the stolen Chevy pick up.  They were shortly after spotted at the Coosawhatchie General Store at exit 28 putting on masks in the parking lot.  Responding Deputies then spotted the vehicle on Morgan Dollar Road where a pursuit was initiated as the suspects accelerated in an attempt to evade arrest.  The vehicle then turned onto Step School Road and into a baseball field where the suspects exited and fled into a wooded area.  The vehicle was processed by Jasper County Detectives and Ridgeland Investigators who collected numerous pieces of evidence which have been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.

 

An abandoned bicycle was reported lying in the front lawn at a residence on North Jasper Street.

 

An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 15 year old female left the residence following an argument.

 

A green 1998 Honda Accord was reported stolen from the football field behind the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  The vehicle was spotted by Patrol Officers a short time later on East Main Street where a traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street. One 15 year old female juvenile was found to be operating the vehicle under a beginner's permit with a 16 year old male juvenile as her passenger.  The vehicle was returned to the rightful owner as juvenile petitions were filed against both occupants charging them with possession of a stolen vehicle before being released to the custody of their parents.  The petitions were then forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice for prosecution.

 

A complaint was filed at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a subject asking tenants for money.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community and at the All Print Custom Tee Shop at 10876 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 10, 2014

 

Jasper County Deputies responding to a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter at a residence on Oak Hill Road discovered that the complainant, Lavatrice Willis, was listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Willis' charges stemmed from a May 21, 2014 larceny at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard when she filled her vehicle with fuel and then left the area without paying. County Deputies made contact with Willis at her home on Oak Hill Road during a separate domestic dispute on July 16, 2014 where she fled out of a back door of her residence after learning that Ridgeland Officers were en route.

 

A Dish Network satellite dish was stolen from a residence on Woods Court in the Oak Plantation Commons community sometime after 10:30 pm on September 9th.

 

A Fedex Volvo tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

     

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Ridge Point Apartments at 109 South Green Street where a male was found to have a defensive laceration on his forearm.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Courtney Jeray Pryor, 20 of Seabrook SC, for the offense of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Two males and a female driving a black Hyundai Sonata were reportedly involved in a fight on North Green Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A Toyota Corolla and a South Carolina school bus were involved in a collision on Captain Bill Road just West of the I-95 overpass after the 16 year old driver of the Corolla lost control of the vehicle while rounding a curve too fast and crossed the centerline striking the bus and sending it off of the left side of the roadway where it struck several trees and a large drainage ditch.  Four occupants from the Toyota and nine occupants from the school bus were transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville including one juvenile taken to Savannah Memorial Hospital.  The driver of the Toyota was cited for speeding too fast for conditions and no driver's license.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2014

 

A black iPhone 4S with a blue Defender cover was stolen from a student's book bag during basketball practice at the Ridgeland High School gym at 250 Jaguar Trail sometime between 5 and 6 pm.

 

A male armed with a handgun was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

 

A Chevy El Camino and a Blue Bell Ice Cream delivery truck were involved in a collision in front of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Wendy's Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.

 

Two suspicious persons were reportedly knocking on tenants' doors at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street attempting to sell narcotics.

 

A green Honda Accord was reportedly damaged with a key in the parking lot of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

 

A dispute between two juvenile males was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 8, 2014

 

Officers responded to a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a domestic dispute that had occurred earlier in the day in the parking lot of the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A Honda Accord was involved in a single vehicle collision on South Logan Street at the Azalea Street intersection after the driver lost control and flipped the vehicle onto it's roof.  No injuries were reported.

   

 

An assault was reported during an eviction hearing at the Jasper County Magistrate's Office at 967 West Adams Street.  The victim declined pursuing charges and was advised to seek a restraining order.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Office at 407 Live Oak Road.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

Andre Simmons was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Municipal Court in reference to three outstanding warrants issued against him.  Simmons' original charges stemmed from a May 4, 2014 traffic stop on Old House Road where he was placed under arrest for speeding, driving under suspension 2nd & simple possession of marijuana as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, the Port Royal Police Department and the Beaufort City Police Department.  He then failed to appear in court to answer for the charges on May 19, 2014 resulting in three warrants being issued for his arrest.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard between a boyfriend and girlfriend living together.  No charges were filed.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 7, 2014

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community which stemmed from a previous incident on September 6th at the same residence.  Once on scene Officers discovered Ervin Martinez arguing and making threats inside of a bedroom where he was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Augusta Avenue in reference to a father and daughter arguing.  No charges were filed.

 

A property damage report was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue which stemmed from an argument at The G Spot Club at 2203 Tillman Road earlier in the evening. Faith Mushun Sanders, 29 of Ridgeland, reportedly followed the complainant to her home at Baytree Apartments where she attempted to follow her into her residence continuing to escalate the argument.  After the complainant shut her door Sanders began kicking it causing damage to the frame and then breaking glass from a bedroom window before leaving the area in a white Chevy Camaro.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Sanders for the charge of malicious injury to property.

Officers responding to a domestic dispute at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive observed suspect Antwan Cannick running from the scene towards the rear of a separate complex building. Cannick was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from a June 11, 2014 domestic dispute at the same residence. When Officers attempted to take Cannick into custody he resisted and attempted to pull away from the arresting Officer to flee resulting in him being placed on the ground where he began to choke the Officer.  A back up Officer then ordered Cannick to cease which he ignored resulting in him being tazed.  He was ultimately taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A suspicious person was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

A loud music complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  No charges were filed.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 6, 2014

 

Officers responding to a report of a reckless driver on I-95 North observed a gray Mercury Grand Marquis traveling 102 mph weaving in and out of both lanes of travel.  A traffic stop was then initiated around the 19 mile marker where the front seat passenger exited the vehicle and backed away.  The driver was then ordered to turn off the engine at which point he immediately accelerated forward in an attempt to evade the Officer and initiating a pursuit.  The suspect driver then attempted to pass another motorist in the center median where he lost control of the vehicle and struck the guard wires before exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot running up an embankment towards Smith's Crossing Road.  Warrant affidavits have been filed against Joshua Michael-Ryan Schatz, 18 of Okatie SC, for the offenses of reckless driving, no driver's license and failure to stop for blue lights/siren.

A gray Hyundai Sonata was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Dale Mooney was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana inside the vehicle as well as on his person.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies responding to a residence on Mitchelville Road where Damien Busby, 36 of Ridgeland, was found sitting inside of a gold GMC Yukon with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.  Further investigation revealed that the shooting had taken place in the parking lot of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where several pieces of evidence were collected as EMS Personnel arrived at the Mitchelville Road residence.

 

A domestic dispute between a niece and her aunt was reported at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to one party taking the other's vehicle without permission.  No charges were filed.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street.

 

A loud music complaint was filed at a residence in the North Ridge Community in reference to a gathering at the Ridgeland Farmers Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a husband and wife invovled in an argument which became physical.  Ervin Martinez, 34 of Ridgeland, fled the scene on foot prior to Officers' arrival while reportedly armed with a knife.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against him for the charge of criminal domestic violence.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Schooners Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Ridgeland Officers responded to Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after receiving information that Ashley Lowther, 34 of Ridgeland, was in the area and listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to outstanding Family Court warrants.  After making contact with Lowther he was turned over to the custody of Jasper County Deputies for warrant service and transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious person was reportedly shining a flashlight through the windows of a residence at the corner of Green and Smith Streets.

 

A black 50cc Tao Tao Scooter was stolen from the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard sometime between 10:00 pm on September 5th and 6:00 am September 6th.

 

A female riding a bicycle with inoperable brakes struck a red Ford Explorer in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.  EMS Personnel responded to the scene where the bicycle rider, Julie Heyward 52 of Ridgeland, was treated but not transported.

 

A 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis reported stolen from a residence on Shadetree Street following an August 30th armed robbery was recovered after being found abandoned on Possum Corner Road.  The vehicle was towed to the Ridgeland Police Department impound by Scott's Automotive for evidence processing.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 5, 2014

 

Gary Shumpert was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found intoxicated in the parking lot area of the Taylor's BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

 

A suspicious person was reported in front of the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

A property damage report was filed at a residence at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road after the homeowner discovered marks on the door indicative of someone attempting to break in.

 

A black male subject in his mid teens was captured on surveillance video stealing items from the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street. Additional information was received identifying the same male as being involved in a recent attempted burglary at a business in Pineland. The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Amber Seiy, 46 of Ridgeland, was captured on surveillance video stealing food items from the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  When confronted by Management outside of the store Seiy returned the item but fled towards Green Street as Police were contacted.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against her for the offense.

A civil dispute was reported at J&M Auto at 159 South Green Street in reference to a dispute over a tree on the property.

 

A suspicious person was reported at Webster's Towing at 10137 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A report of possible gun fire was reported on East Wilson Street after the complainant heard noises coming from the area of the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.

 

A red Volvo station wagon was stopped in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street after Officers discovered the tag displayed on the vehicle was registered to a Mercury. Driver Michael Cochrane was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 4, 2014

 

A black Ford Mustang was stopped for an equipment violation on East Main Street at the Wilson Street intersection where driver Oscar Juares was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed driver with Juares' permission.

 

Several suspicious persons were reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Several mailboxes were reportedly pried open on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A Mercury Sable, a Nissan Altima and a Chevy Silverado pick up were involved in a collision on Third Avenue near the Weathersbee intersection.  No injuries were reported.

   

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Veterinary Clinic at 109 South Green Street.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

A report of possible gun fire was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

A male armed with a handgun was reported in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 3, 2014

 

Michael Byrd was discovered inside of a residence at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an oustanding warrant issued against him stemming from a September 2nd forgery case.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Hardware Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

 

Two suspicious persons were reported at the Ridgeland Cemetery.

 

An assault was reported at the gas pump area of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male making threatening remarks to another.  No charges were filed.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 2, 2014

 

Officers responded to the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street in reference to Anthony Bernard Gibson, 42 of Ridgeland SC, asking customers for money as they exit the store. As Officers arrived on scene Gibson was observed getting into a brown Buick passenger car attempting to leave the area.  A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle at which time Gibson was served a trespass notice for the property of the Family Dollar Store.  No charges are pending.

Offiers responded to activated alarms at a residence on Azalea Avenue, the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway and another at a residence on Bailey Lane.

 

A stolen check was forged and cashed at the Star Point BP Station on August 23rd and another on August 28th totaling a loss to the victim of $400. Two warrant affidavits have been filed against Michael Byrd, 26 of Early Branch SC, for the offense of forgery.  The theft of the checks is being investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

Officers responded to a disturbance at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a tenants belongings being thrown out during a dispute.  One of the parties involved, Jamie Nettles 29 of Ridgeland, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to unpaid court fines.  Nettles was turned over to a Deputy's custody for warrant service and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A welfare check was requested on an elderly male at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after a concerned relative had not heard from him for 24 hours.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 1, 2014

 

A domestic dispute was reported at the intersection of Smith's Crossing Road and South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a female victim was punched in the face several times while seated in the driver's seat of her vehicle and then dragged out onto the ground where she was struck and kicked several more times.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against James Williams Jr., 29 of Garnett SC, for the charge of criminal domestic violence.  Williams is also listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to an outstanding warrant stemming from a failure to appear in court violation for a 2013 public disorderly conduct charge.

A black male was reportedly sitting inside of an employee's unlocked white Ford Windstar van parked at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. A single pack of Newport cigarettes was reported stolen.

 

A Garmin GPS unit was stolen from inside of a gold Pontiac G6 parked in front of a residence on McCormack Avenue.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

 

A Toyota Camry and a Chevy Suburban were involved in a collision in the drive thru area of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road. No injuries were reported.

   

 

A harassment report was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to unwanted text messages and phone calls.  No charges were filed at the complainant's request.

 

Several subjects traveling in a white four door sedan were observed by homeowners breaking into a red Ford Edge at a residence on Second Avenue and a white Hargray work truck at a residence on Wiley Street.  Several tools and a Dell laptop were reported stolen from the Hargray vehicle.

 

Hardeeville Police responded to a domestic dispute that reportedly occurred inside of a vehicle on I-95 South where suspect Isaac Stevenson was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was placed under arrest by Hardeeville Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where Ridgeland Officers served the warrant.  Stevenson's charges stemmed from a September 5, 2010 driver safety checkpoint conducted at the intersection of East Main Street and Logan Street where he was cited and assigned a court date for operating without a driver's license.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on September 27, 2010 resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
