MARCH 31, 2015

 

  • 4:08 a.m. - An open door was discovered at the Jasper County DSS Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A check of the building revealed no signs of forced entry or missing items.

 

  • 9:23 a.m. - A white GMC Acadia was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker where driver Steven Dunac provided the Officer with a fictitious name and date of birth in an effort to conceal his identity. A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of marijuana as well as paperwork revealing Dunac's true identity at which time his New York driver's license was found to be under a state of suspension.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 10:32 a.m. - A green Toyota Highlander and a blue Toyota Avalon were involved in a collision at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 2:53 p.m. - A gold Saturn L300 was stopped for a tag violation at the intersection of East Main and Wilson Street where driver Shanee Monique White provided the Officer with a relative's name and date of birth in an effort to conceal her identity.  She was then placed under arrest after the name she provided was found to have a suspended South Carolina driver's license at which time she revealed her true identity stating that she didn't know the name she provided had a suspended license.  A check of the new information showed her South Carolina driver's license to be suspended as well with a previous conviction for driving under suspension on her record.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 3:19 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reportedly trespassing inside of a vacant residence on East Adams Street after making entry through a side window.  A search of the home revealed no persons inside.

 

  • 3:44 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 27 mile marker in reference to a gray Dodge pickup cutting off other motorists.

 

  • 5:01 p.m. - A black male subject was reportedly causing a disturbance inside of the Check Into Cash Store at 8225 East Main Street after a dispute over a store policy requiring photo identification.  Officers located the subject in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant and escorted him back to the Check Into Cash Store where the situation was remedied without further incident.

 

  • 6:37 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Family Dentistry Office at 10832 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 10:34 p.m. - A call was received from a male patient at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville who claimed to have been assaulted on Grays Highway at the Oak Plantation Drive intersection.

 

 

MARCH 30, 2015

 

  • 1:38 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of the suspicious person at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive where Jenna Beckett, 28 of Ridgeland SC, was found sleeping on a couch in the lobby area.  EMS Personnel ultimately responded at Beckett's request and transported her to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.  She was placed on trespass notice for the Quality Inn Motel property at Management's request.

 

  • 9:35 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker in reference to a blue Chevy Tahoe weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 12:28 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Sheriff's Detective Office at 1460 Carters Mill Road.

 

  • 2:18 p.m. - Officers responded to the former Kwalu Manufacturing Plant at 316 East Woodlawn Street after a male subject was spotted climbing the fence at the rear of the property bordering South Logan Street.  Upon arrival Officers discovered an open front door where they met with the property owner and his son who identified himself as the person who had climbed the fence.

 

  • 4:31 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland in reference to a male subject in a white Ford Taurus traveling at a high rate of speed and throwing ice from his vehicle towards the complainant's.

 

  • 4:43 p.m. - A metal pipe was reported protruding from a white Ford RV approximately 3 feet over the shoulder while traveling South on I-95 around the 33 mile marker.

 

  • 4:49 p.m. - A blue Infinity G35X was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where passenger Brandon Andrew Villacis was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the driver was issued a citation for speeding before leaving the area.

 

  • 7:29 p.m. - Two suspicious vehicles were reported on I-95 North at the 22 mile marker by the Ridgeland Correctional Institution fence line.

 

  • 8:01 p.m. - Hardeeville Officers responding to a disturbance at a residence at 168 Walsh Drive found one of the parties involved, Tanisha Yowanna Stevenson-Riley, to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where Ridgeland Officers served the document.  Riley's charges stemmed from a February 27, 2006 traffic stop at the intersection of East Main and Logan Street where she was arrested and charged with driving under suspension 2nd offense.  She was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 27, 2006 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.

 

  • 9:57 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Battery Pointe in the Fordville Area after numerous gunshots were fired over the span of several minutes.  Upon arrival Mickel Bolden, 57 of Ridgeland SC, was found lying unresponsive in the roadway from an apparent gunshot wound.  Persons on scene and potential witnesses to the murder refused to cooperate with responding Deputies in providing basic information such as name and date of birth.  Another victim was ultimately transported by EMS Personnel to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound sustained during the incident.  This case is under investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

  • 11:08 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 11:16 p.m. - Two suspicious vehicles were reported at the Ridgeland Farmers Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 11:21 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland in reference to a white tractor trailer traveling at a high rate of speed and forcing other drivers off of the roadway.

 

  • 11:43 p.m. - A property damage report was filed by a tenant at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after his room door was allegedly damaged indicative of someone forcing entry.  No items were reported missing and Motel Management declined pursuing the matter.  While on scene Officers discovered that tenant Levi Arthur Roy Gibson Jr. was listed as a wanted person by authorities in Mexico, MO in reference to an outstanding Family Court warrant.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where a hold was placed on him pending extradition back to Missouri.

 

 

MARCH 29, 2015

 

  • 8:24 a.m. - A stray dog reportedly caused an elderly female to fall at a residence on Fifth Avenue.  The dog was collected by Ridgeland Animal Control and transported to the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road where it was later collected by the owner.

 

  • 8:56 a.m. - A black Ford Focus was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Ronaldo Aubrey was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger who was listed as the primary renter.

 

  • 9:14 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker in reference to a white Kia Optima weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 10:52 a.m. - A silver Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on the I-95 North exit 21 off ramp where driver Elton Eugene Brown was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of an open container of liquor.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Passenger Mary Elizabeth Evans, 41 of Goose Creek SC, was cited and assigned a court date charging her with an open container violation before leaving the area.

 

  • 1:27 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported at a North Green Street residence in reference to a female occupant refusing to leave the property.

 

  • 1:50 p.m. - A Ford E350 van and a Chevy Impala were involved in a collision on I-95 North at the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 4:39 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on James Taylor Drive.

 

  • 5:32 p.m. - An escort was requested by a Sunset Circle resident in reference to gathering personal belongings from a prior residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

 

  • 6:42 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on Bailey Lane in reference to a red pickup driving erratically.

 

  • 7:10 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on James Taylor Drive.

 

  • 7:20 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 7:38 p.m. - Three Hispanic males were reportedly riding a 4 wheeler on the roadway and through private property in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  The subjects were located on Shadetree Street and advised of laws regarding ATV operation.

 

  • 8:57 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in front of the Ridgeland High School at 456 Grays Highway in reference to an unoccupied Infinity.

 

  • 9:21 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 11:59 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to a Chevy 1500 pickup.

 

 

MARCH 28, 2015

 

  • 1:14 a.m. - A silver Lexus RX350 was stopped for speeding on I-95 South at the 22 mile marker where driver Kyieme Joseph White was found to be operating under a suspended New Jersey driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with White's permission.

 

  • 10:26 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 26 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer towing a white box trailer driving erratically.

 

  • 12:11 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Fifth Avenue.

 

  • 1:23 p.m. - A gray Toyota Sienna, a white Dodge Ram pickup and a Dodge mini van were involved in a collision on I-95 North at the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 1:34 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a white female knocking on several residents' doors asking to purchase narcotics.

 

  • 1:45 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Owens Street.

 

  • 2:16 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Honeycomb Place in the Bees Creek Plantation Community after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 2:19 p.m. - A domestic dispute between 2 brothers was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 209 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

  • 3:13 p.m. - A second domestic dispute was reported at a Heron Crossing residence in reference to one of the parties involved being ordered to leave the property by the complainant. A request for an escort was ultimately requested in order for the departing male to gather personal belongings.

 

  • 4:18 p.m. - A report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a male subject attempting to shoot the complainant.

 

  • 6:10 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Great Swamp and Carters Mill Road in reference to a red Ford pickup.

 

  • 6:25 p.m. - A blue Cadillac was involved in a single vehicle collision on Bees Creek Road when the driver lost control to avoid a dog in the roadway and became stuck in a roadside drainage ditch.

 

  • 7:35 p.m. - Two black males standing in the parking lot area of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue reportedly pointed a handgun at a female inside of a vehicle as she left the complex and then ran after the vehicle.

 

  • 9:10 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a silver Honda Accord driving erratically.  The vehicle was ultimately stopped by Hardeeville Officers at the 7 mile marker.

 

  • 10:01 p.m. - A disabled vehicle interrupted traffic flow for a short period of time at the corner of Frontage and Rice Shire Road after a 1971 Pontiac Catalina caught on fire.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 10:21 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported on West Main Street at the Railroad Avenue intersection.

 

  • 11:36 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a customer requiring a refund after being dissatisfied with the state of their rented room.

 

 

MARCH 27, 2015

 

  • 2:58 a.m. - A white Buick Rendezvous was stopped for a failure to maintain lane violation on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Teresa Ann Varsel was found to be operating under a suspended Virginia driver's license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 5:18 a.m. - Jasper County Deputies traveled to the Chatham County Detention Center at 1050 Carl Griffin Drive in Savannah GA where inmate Kyron Shaw was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under charges of attempted murder and possession of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime stemming from a September 20, 2014 shooting incident on Orange Grove Road in the Mitchellville area.  Ridgeland Officers then served an outstanding RPD warrant against Shaw stemming from a November 9, 2010 incident at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.  He was arrested for the offense at the Jasper County Probation & Parole Office at 214 Second Avenue on December 9, 2010 but then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charge on December 20, 2010 at which time he was found guilty during a trial in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

 

  • 10:45 a.m. - A white Ford Fiesta was stopped for speeding and following too closely on I-95 North at the 21 mile marker where driver Clifford Bodie Filyaw was found to be in possession of an open container of beer in addition to driving under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from a previous DUI conviction with 2 additional suspensions pending for failure to pay traffic ticket and habitual offender violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 12:27 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white tractor trailer traveling North on I-95 around the 19 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 1:21 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Laurel Lane.

 

  • 1:25 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a gold Toyota Rav4 traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland straddling the center line and not allowing vehicles to pass.

 

  • 1:45 p.m. - A Saturn Outlook and a Dodge Caravan were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 2:11 p.m. - A report of financial transaction card fraud was filed by a Hilton Head resident in reference to their Coastal State Bank debit card being used at several businesses in and around the Ridgeland area.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

  • 6:59 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male driving a black Nissan with North Carolina tags attempting to sell perfume and cologne to Sunoco customers in the parking lot.

 

  • 8:35 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of West Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a dark colored sedan flashing lights and driving erratically.

 

  • 11:58 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 11:58 p.m. - A property damage report was filed at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community in reference to the complainant's tan Infinity M35 suffering damage to the rear passenger side bumper from an unknown source.

 

 

MARCH 26, 2015

 

  • 2:03 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in establishing a containment perimeter after a male suspect was witnessed breaking into a vehicle at a residence on Allen Drive.  The suspect fled the area on foot as Deputies arrived on scene.

 

  • 7:16 a.m. - A red Chevy Silverado was reportedly blocking the view of oncoming traffic in front of the Sheffield Oil Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 8:26 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

 

  • 10:15 a.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 Avenue in reference to several subjects standing around in the parking lot area.

 

  • 11:05 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted on a male subject sleeping on a bench at Malphrus Park on Grays Highway where Keith Garvin was found to be grossly intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 1:03 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated hold up alarm at the All Childrens Pediatrics Office at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 3:54 p.m. - A white Chrysler 200 was stopped for speeding on South Green Street by the Country Morning Bakery where driver Michael Osdel Hanley, 26 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana as well as having no proof of valid insurance.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.

 

  • 5:03 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on James Taylor Drive.

 

  • 7:50 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

 

 

MARCH 25, 2015

 

  • 4:55 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker in reference to a gray Ford Crown Victoria.

 

  • 12:05 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to a male subject lying in a small wooded area between the business and the Bailey Lane neighborhood..

 

  • 3:20 p.m. - A student's cell phone was reportedly stolen by another student on a Jasper County School Bus in the Ridgeland Lakes neighborhood.  The phone was ultimately returned after Ridgeland Officers responded to the scene and the incident was turned over to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

  • 4:06 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Jasper's Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to an ongoing dispute between a male and female stemming from a property forfeiture at a residence on Rice Shire Road previously reported to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

  • 4:36 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in reference to an intoxicated female driving a black Honda traveling West on Captain Bill Road.

 

  • 5:41 p.m. - A complaint was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to an intoxicated tenant causing a disturbance at the main office.  The subject returned to his room without further incident.

 

  • 10:30 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a white female allegedly being in the restroom for 2 hours.

 

  • 11:45 p.m. - A welfare check was requested at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after several 911 calls were received from an intoxicated male tenant.

 

 

MARCH 24, 2015

 

  • 12:05 a.m. - Officers responded to a disturbance at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to two males and a female causing a disturbance and arguing with employees after being asked to not be so loud in the parking lot while waiting for assistance in changing a flat tire on their vehicle.  Tyree Shaman Jenkins, 27 of Ridgeland, Deandra Tykeem Jazar Jenkins, 22 of Ridgeland, and Tiana Elise Rivers, 18 of Ridgeland, were all placed on trespass notice for the business property without further incident.

  • 6:34 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Cash Advance Store at 8120 East Main Street.

 

  • 9:30 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white mini van traveling North on I-95 around the 19 mile marker.  The vehicle was operated by an older white female who allegedly stopped in the middle of the interstate and attempted to drive in reverse. No collisions were reported.

 

  • 12:15 p.m. - A larceny was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a routine review of surveillance video revealed two black males stealing several bottles of beer on March 21st at approximately 7:15 p.m.  If you have any information on the suspects pictured below please call Jasper County Dispatch at 843-726-7519 or Sgt. McIntosh at 843-321-0780.  Any information provided will be handled anonymously.

 

 

  • 1:14 p.m. - A theft was reported at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after employees discovered that an A/C unit had been stolen from behind the business.

 

  • 3:44 p.m. - A white Honda Civic was stopped for speeding on the I-95 Southbound on ramp at the exit 18 interchange where driver Kelvin Machado was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to his mother following verification of her Tennessee driver's license.

 

  • 4:16 p.m. - A blue Infinity was truck by a white Ford pickup in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street causing damage to the bumper.  The Ford then left the area without reporting the collision.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 5:41 p.m. - A black male driving a gray Dodge Durango with a small child in the vehicle was reportedly driving over several curbs in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 5:48 p.m. - A welfare check was requested at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a subject possibly wanting to do harm to himself.

 

  • 6:00 p.m. - A white Ford F150 pickup was stopped on Carters Mill Road by the West Adams Street intersection after calls were received about the vehicle spinning tires across several lawns in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  Driver Alejandro Cruz was found to be operating without a driver's license as well as being under the influence of alcohol and in possession of open containers of beer.  Passenger Mario Perez was also found to be in possession of open containers at which point both suspects were placed under arrest.  They were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to Cruz's wife.

 

  • 8:47 p.m. - A theft was reported at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive after a female in a dark silver Hyundai bearing Florida tags left the business without paying for dispensed fuel.  The vehicle was last seen traveling North on I-95.

 

  • 10:22 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a gray Chevy Highlander on Old House Road around the Honey Hill intersection.

 

  • 11:33 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive after a white male entered the business stating that someone was attempting to assault him.

 

  • 11:43 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a group of males standing in the parking lot playing loud music on a car stereo.

 

 

MARCH 23, 2015

 

  • 7:17 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted on a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 7:48 a.m. - A gray Hyundai Santa Fe and a black Chevy Malibu were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 12:03 p.m. - A white Chevy Silverado was stopped on Highway 17 at the Captain Bill Road intersection after making an illegal left turn exiting the El Ranchito Restaurant at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Joel D. Yeager was found to be operating under an expired Colorado driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 2:46 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Wilson Street.

 

  • 2:55 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer traveling at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 4:39 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported between a customer and employee at the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

  • 5:20 p.m. - A possible domestic dispute between a male and female was reported in reference to a blue sedan on Tillman Road just past the Great Swamp intersection.

 

  • 7:09 p.m. - A suspicious person report was filed in reference to a group of males walking in between houses on McTeer Street.

 

 

MARCH 22, 2015

 

  • 3:29 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Outpost Clothing Store at 10535 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a silver Mazda left parked on the property.

 

  • 4:22 a.m. - A black Volkswagen Passat was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Franuet Miguel Filepe-Tavares, 24 of Tampa FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

  • 4:44 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male patron reportedly attempting to rob a dancer resulting in him being detained by club security.

 

  • 11:16 p.m. - A report was received in reference to a hit and run incident at the 46 mile marker on I-95 South involving a red Ford Mustang and a tractor trailer.  The Mustang reportedly continued traveling South after rear ending the tractor trailer and was ultimately spotted by Ridgeland Officers around the 22 mile marker where a traffic stop was initiated.  The scene was then turned over to South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers.

 

  • 4:37 p.m. - Officers responded to the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a 911 call was received in reference to a female employee being assaulted by Talid Drake as she was getting into her vehicle.  Drake was previously placed on trespass notice for the property of the Dollar General as well as  several other Ridgeland businesses after causing numerous disturbances during the month of March.  He was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 5:02 p.m. - A stray dog was reported on the I-95 exit 22 Southbound on ramp.

 

  • 5:25 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 14 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer hauling lumber allegedly running a vehicle off of the roadway.

 

  • 5:55 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a white GMC pickup with a ladder rack weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 6:55 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported at a residence on Wise Street in reference to a white male and a white female asking for an ambulance and then walking away.  Patrol Officers ultimately spotted the subjects on Woodlawn Street who declined EMS.

 

  • 7:16 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a customer being denied a refund after being dissatisfied with their room.

 

  • 7:56 p.m. - A harassment complaint was reported at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street.

 

 

MARCH 21, 2015

 

  • 12:22 a.m. - Patrol Officers spotted Talid Drake, 34 of Ridgeland SC, at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street where he was placed on trespass notice for the properties of Ned's Pub & Grub and the Ridgeland Dollar General Store at Management's request in reference to previous incidents.

 

  • 12:51 a.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed at Ned's Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 4:06 a.m. - A disturbance was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street in reference to a female breaking items after being asked to leave the property.

 

  • 5:50 a.m. - A black male was reportedly walking in the middle of the roadway in front of the Farm Bureau Insurance Office at 9438 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 7:55 a.m. - A gold Mercury Sable and a white Nissan Altima were involved in a collision on East Wilson Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 12:06 p.m. - A complaint was filed by a motorist in reference to unrestrained children in a red Dodge Durango traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

 

  • 12:11 p.m. - A red Toyota Celica and a gray Chrysler Sebring were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 4:07 p.m. - Officers responded to a residence on Live Oak Farm Road in reference to a white male subject acting suspicious.  The subject was ultimately voluntarily transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

 

  • 6:42 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

 

 

MARCH 20, 2015

 

  • 6:04 a.m. - A reckless driver report was filed by a motorist in reference to two tractor trailers and a black BMW traveling South on I-95 around the 28 mile marker at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 9:03 a.m. - A larceny was reported at D&R Auto Sales at 7622 West Main Street in reference to a stolen white 2010 Chevy 1500 extended cab pickup with factory chrome rims   Information was later received from a witness to the theft who stated that the incident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on the 19th when the vehicle was seen squealing tires leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 11:35 a.m. - A complaint was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to Talid Drake, 34 of Ridgeland SC, making threats after being asked to leave Ned's Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Both businesses requested that Drake be placed on trespass notice.

 

  • 12:22 p.m. - A theft was reported at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after an employee discovered that the tag had been stolen from his Mercury Villager.  The incident reportedly occurred sometime between 6:40 p.m. on the 19th and noon on the 20th.  The tag is listed as SC number HQR-996 and has been listed on NCIC as stolen.

 

  • 12:57 p.m. - A complaint was filed in reference to a stolen credit card being used at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street and the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

  • 5:24 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to Talid Drake being spotted walking by the property. Management has requested he be placed on trespass notice following an earlier incident.

 

  • 5:44 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported on the property of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a black male being in the area despite recently being placed on trespass notice.

 

  • 5:48 p.m. - Officers responded to the area of Henry Lawton Road after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 7:52 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a black female behind the business.

 

  • 9:22 p.m. - An intoxicated female was reported in the parking lot area of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

 

  • 10:19 p.m. - A welfare check was requested at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after staff members suspected that someone was still inside the business after closing.

 

  • 10:35 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a group of males in the parking lot.

 

  • 11:49 p.m. - A white Chevy Impala and a red Dodge Caravan were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

MARCH 19, 2015

 

  • 1:19 p.m. - A civil dispute was filed at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street in reference to a Family Court decision.

 

  • 1:33 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a black Chevy Silverado pickup.

 

  • 2:14 p.m. - A silver Volvo and a gray Ford pickup were involved in a collision in the parking lot of Badcock Furniture at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 6:41 p.m. - A white male was reportedly walking South by the Northbound lanes of I-95 around the 21 mile marker.

 

  • 10:39 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 11:03 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to loud music and shouting coming from a neighboring room.

 

 

MARCH 18, 2015

 

  • 3:08 a.m. - A Nissan Sentra was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 10:08 a.m. - A shoplifting was reported at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main after a routine review of surveillance video by Management revealed a white male subject stealing a container of chocolate milk on March 17th during a shift change.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Dale Roscoe Terry Jr., 27 of Early Branch SC, charging him with shoplifting in reference to this incident.

  • 11:02 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white vehicle traveling South on I-95 around the 23 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 12:10 p.m. - An aggressive yellow lab was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

  • 1:02 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in front of the main gate at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road in reference to a white sedan left unattended.

 

  • 1:55 p.m. - A 40' aluminum ladder was reported stolen from behind the Palmetto Isotopes Pharmacy at 410 Old House Road.  The event occurred on March 12th sometime between 8:00 p.m. and midnight; however was not discovered until the 18th.

 

  • 3:44 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers served two outstanding warrants on inmate Verdell Floyd Jr. at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after he was arrested by Jasper County Sheriff's Deputies under the charges of driving under suspension and disregarding a stop sign during a traffic stop at the intersection of West Frontage and Morgan Dollar Road.  Floyd's warrants stemmed from a May 4, 2004 traffic stop on I-95 South around the 24 mile marker where Ridgeland Officers cited him for speeding and driving under suspension.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 7, 2004 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in two warrants being issued for his arrest.

 

  • 4:48 p.m. - A male subject was reportedly walking on I-95 South in the area of exit 21.

 

  • 5:55 p.m. - A blue Ford Mustang and a silver GMC Acadia were involved in a collision on East Main Street between Jacob Smart Boulevard and Logan Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 7:07 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a black tractor trailer traveling South on I-95 around the 26 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 11:52 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted in the area of Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

 

MARCH 17, 2015

 

  • 2:30 a.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a male and a female involved in an argument over keys.

 

  • 11:44 a.m. - A red Ford Focus was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 462 near the Deloss Point Road intersection when it struck a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 12:57 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a mother and her 20 year old daughter arguing after the daughter refused to leave the property.

 

 

MARCH 16, 2015

 

  • 1:37 a.m. - A suspicious person was reported at a residence on Honey Hill Circle in reference to a white male walking through the area shining a flashlight at houses.

 

  • 1:50 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at a residence on Honey Hill Circle after the homeowner was awakened by the sound of someone breaking in through a downstairs door and tearing the alarm circuit panel out of the wall.  Once on scene Deputies spotted Brandon Joseph Wood, 29 of Luray VA, walking from the back side of the residence at which time he was detained following a brief attempt to resist.  His black Harley Davidson motorcycle was found parked in a nearby vacant lot which was turned over to Blatchley's Towing.  EMS was dispatched after Wood complained of chest pains and transported him to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation where he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and cocaine.  After being released from the hospital Wood was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of Burglary 1st.

  • 2:52 a.m. - Officers responded to a possible domestic dispute at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a female subject was reportedly shouting about a cell phone.

 

  • 3:27 a.m. - A Ford moving van was reportedly traveling North in the Southbound lanes of I-95 around the 21 mile marker.  The vehicle was last seen exiting the interstate at exit 22.

 

  • 10:54 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a gray Chevy Silverado pickup towing a black box trailer traveling North on I-95 around the 14 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 11:12 a.m. - Keegan Louis Cooley turned himself in to Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Cooley's charges stemmed from a March 11th report of a stolen debit card being used at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street on four separate occassions in November 2014.  Ridgeland Investigators spoke with  agents at the USMC Criminal Investigation Division in Beaufort in reference to the initial theft at which time a suspect was established.  Keegan Cooley was ultimately identified as the person appearing on the Handy Dan's surveillance video resulting in four warrants being issued for his arrest.

 

  • 11:35 a.m. - A suspicious person was reported at Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a black male wearing a suit carrying a garden rake and a tennis racket harassing one of the store employees.

 

  • 3:43 p.m. - A property damage complaint was filed at a Shadetree Street residence in the Carters Mill Estates Community after the homeowner returned home to find a rear bedroom window had been broken by an unknown person sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m..  There were no signs of entry into the residence and no items reported missing.

 

  • 6:05 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted in the parking lot of Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street after a DSS Agent discovered 4 children left unattended in a Toyota van.

 

  • 6:38 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a black BMW traveling North on I-95 at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 8:30 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress inside of Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street involving several people.  The primary suspects fled the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

 

  • 9:23 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to  loud music coming from a neighboring apartment.

 

  • 10:01 p.m. - A property damage complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the tenant discovered a shattered window.  A suspect was identified; however neither the tenant nor the Property Manager wished to pursue charges in the matter.  There were no signs of entry and no items reported missing.

  • 12:18 a.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

 

  • 12:48 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the South State Bank drive up ATM at 10625 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a gold Chevy Colorado left unlocked and unattended.

 

  • 2:43 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

 

  • 3:59 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white Dodge Caravan traveling North on Highway 17 around the exit 18 area swerving all over the roadway.

 

  • 4:30 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a black male carrying a rake.

 

  • 6:51 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a father and son was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  The caller became uncooperative and disconnected when asked for his name and telephone number.

 

  • 9:30 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to a Ford Escort.

 

  • 9:45 p.m. - A legally parked gray Toyota Camry was struck by an unknown vehicle in the parking lot of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 10:58 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

 

MARCH 14, 2015

 

  • 2:07 a.m. - A black Chevy Tahoe was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where passenger Angelo Aponte, 49 of New York NY, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

  • 5:32 a.m. - Officers responded to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to a fight in progress between two female customers.  Upon arrival one of the subjects was said to have attempted to strike the complainant but missed before leaving the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.  The incident stemmed from an earlier dispute at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 7:37 a.m. - A black Mitsubishi Galant was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker.  South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the incident.

 

  • 9:11 a.m. - A black Chevy Cobalt was stopped for speeding on Old House Road at the Good Hope Plantation intersection where driver Netzahy Jimenez-Cruz was found to be operating under an expired South Carolina beginner's permit.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 12:11 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported in reference to a male subject walking on I-95 South at the exit 21 interchange.

 

  • 12:54 p.m. - A woman was reportedly walking with a small child on I-95 towards exit 21 after their vehicle became disabled.  A check of the area revealed no subjects on the roadway.

 

  • 1:32 p.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on McCormack Avenue in reference to a white male crossing the complainant's property without permission.

 

  • 2:06 p.m. - Four stray cats were reported by a resident on East Wilson Street.

 

  • 4:07 p.m. - A black male carrying a rake reportedly assaulted a female at Ken's Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard before walking towards the Ridgeland Coin Laundry.  The suspect was last seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area.

 

  • 5:31 p.m. - A black Honda Civic and a red Chevy Cobalt were involved in a minor collision on North Green Street.  The Chevy then left the area without reporting the collision last seen driving East on Malphrus Street towards North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 5:45 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a black Oldsmobile Bravada traveling North on Old House Road at a high rate of speed and repeatedly crossing the centerline.

 

  • 6:06 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a red two door sedan traveling South on I-95 around the 33 mile marker traveling in excess of 100 mph.

 

  • 8:49 p.m. - A theft was reported at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road in reference to an undisclosed amount of cash being taken from the complainant's bedroom sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

 

  • 8:57 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

 

 

MARCH 13, 2015

 

  • 2:23 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a gray Chevy 4 door vehicle traveling South on I-95 around the 19 mile marker swerving in and out of the lane of travel.

 

  • 2:43 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a green Ford Explorer.

 

  • 3:31 a.m. - An open entry gate was discovered at the Green Street Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street.

 

  • 5:12 a.m. - A theft was reported at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a male and female in a gray Mitsubishi Galant drove away from the business without paying for gasoline they dispensed into the vehicle.  The entire incident was captured on surveillance video which is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.  If you have any information on the suspects pictured below please call Jasper County Dispatch at 843-726-7519 or Sgt.   • 1:25 p.m. - A gray Kia Optima was stopped at the intersection of East Main and Wilson Street after disregarding a stop sign at the exit 21 I-95 Southbound off ramp where driver Devin Baum was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver's license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 2:21 p.m. - A tan Nissan Altima was involved in a single vehicle collision on Tillman Road near the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church when the driver lost control and left the roadway becoming stuck in a roadside drainage ditch.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 4:16 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a male complainant allegedly being kicked by his nephew.

 

  • 5:16 p.m. - An unrestrained child was reportedly jumping up and down in the backseat of a dark silver Chevy Equinox traveling South on I-95 around the 33 mile marker.

 

  • 5:22 p.m. - Steven Warren Malphrus was placed under arrest in front of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Malphrus' charges stemmed from an October 1, 2014 traffic stop at the intersection of East Adams Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested and charged with operating an uninsured vehicle.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on October 20, 2014 and placed on a time payment plan which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

  • 8:26 p.m. - An assault was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after a male subject approached a female sitting in her vehicle and began beating on her windows forcing her to leave the area.  The female returned a short time later at which time the male allegedly returned parking his vehicle in front of hers in an effort to block her in.  The female complainant then rolled down her window when the male approached at which time he threw coffee on her before getting back into his vehicle and leaving the area.

 

  • 8:58 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a tractor trailer traveling North on I-95 around the 18 mile marker swerving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 9:46 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

 

  • 11:32 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

MARCH 12, 2015

 

  • 10:13 a.m. - A civil dispute was filed in front of the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a Kia Sorento being reportedly struck by rocks from a tractor trailer causing damage to the windshield.  Further investigation revealed that the incident occurred at the Highway 278 and Highway 462 intersection at which time the issued was turned over to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

 

  • 11:25 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a yellow tractor trailer traveling South on I-95 around the 33 mile marker allegedly texting while driving causing the vehicle to swerve in the roadway several times.

 

  • 1:38 p.m. - A property damage complaint was filed by a resident on Benson Lane in reference to a black male riding a dirt bike on yesterday's date which kicked up gravel causing damage to the rear windshield of the complainant's vehicle.

 

  • 2:14 p.m. - South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers responding to a report of a vehicle fire in the Tillman area discovered that complainant Torrell Kenma Kemp was listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was then placed under arrest by Jasper County Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where Ridgeland Officers served two outstanding warrants.  Kemp's charges stemmed from a December 24, 2014 traffic stop at Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was arrested and charged with driving under suspension and simple possession of marijuana.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on January 12, 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in his absence resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  He was then involved in a March 2, 2015 collision in front of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail where he fled the scene prior to Law Enforcement arrival resulting in an additional warrant being issued against him for driving under suspension.

 

  • 2:41 p.m. - A complaint was filed in reference to two black males smoking marijuana while walking on Brabham Street towards Baytree Apartments.

 

  • 2:59 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

 

  • 4:28 p.m. - A blue Chevy Cobalt was stopped for speeding on I-95 North at the 18 mile marker where driver Kristy T. McGough was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed driver with McGough's permission.

 

  • 7:58 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported in front of Ned's Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a black male carrying a shower road shouting and making threats at passers by.

 

 

MARCH 11, 2015

 

  • 1:02 a.m. - A burglary was reported at a residence at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard with the suspect/s forcing entry through a window before stealing an undisclosed amount of electronics and jewelry.  The incident reportedly occurred between 4:30 p.m. March 10th and 1:00 a.m. March 11th.

 

  • 3:17 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Grayco Hardware Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

 

  • 8:15 a.m. - A white Chevy Impala was involved in a single vehicle collision at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive when the driver lost control and struck a SCE&G utility pole.  The driver declined medical treatment for a laceration on his forehead.

 

  • 10:11 a.m. - A report was filed by an active duty US Marine in reference to four separate unauthorized transactions on her debit card occurring at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after it was reportedly stolen during a theft at the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station in November of 2014.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

  • 10:31 a.m. - A female subject was reportedly picketing in front of the Jasper County Board of Disabilities at 1512 Grays Highway for a second time.  She was advised of the Town Ordinance regarding the matter and told to obtain a permit from Ridgeland Town Hall.

 

  • 11:21 a.m. - Talid Rashee Drake, 34 of Ridgeland SC, was reportedly causing a disturbance in the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street when he began shouting at customers and employees to call 911 because someone was allegedly trying to harm him.  When responding Officers questioned him about the person threatening him Drake became uncooperative.

 

  • 12:46 p.m. - A passing motorist in a Ford F150 pickup reportedly struck a piece of road debris on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker causing a rupture to his fuel tank.

 

  • 3:59 p.m. - A white female was reportedly asking residents to sell her narcotics in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue. Responding Officers advised her to leave the property without further incident.

 

  • 4:00 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white tractor trailer traveling South on I-95 around the 38 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 4:47 p.m. - A report was filed by a passing motorist on I-95 North after striking a piece of road debris around the 22 mile marker causing his vehicle to malfunction.

 

  • 4:57 p.m. - An assault was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a male subject reportedly struck his female cousin during a verbal dispute.  No witnesses were found despite numerous persons standing in the parking lot area.

 

  • 6:18 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported on McCormack Avenue in reference to a white male and a black male conducting an illegal narcotics transaction behind a residence.

 

  • 7:44 p.m. - Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a hold had been placed on inmate James Lamont Barnes in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Barnes' charges stemmed from a December 20, 2011 shoplifting incident at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was captured on surveillance video stealing jars of oysters.  He was then arrested for the offense during a separate shoplifting incident at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street on January 31, 2015 where he was arrested and charged with a felony property crime enhancement.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the shoplifting charge on February 23, 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

 

  • 9:08 p.m. - A champagne Ford Edge and a blue moped were involved in a collision in front of the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.  One male was transported by EMS Personnel to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.

 

  • 11:45 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported on Wise Street in reference to a white male and a black male selling narcotics.

 

 

MARCH 10, 2015

 

  • 12:30 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a red sedan traveling South on I-95 around the 22 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 12:32 a.m. - A gray Chevy Tahoe was stopped for speeding on I-95 North at the 22 mile marker where driver Nathalie N. Owens, 35 of Chantilly VA, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for both offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

  • 1:09 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a US Express tractor trailer traveling North on I-95 around the 21 mile marker crossing the center line several times.

 

  • 9:41 a.m. - A suspicious person was reported in front of the Jasper County Board of Disabilities at 1512 Grays Highway.

 

  • 10:58 a.m. - A civil complaint was filed at A-1 Towing at 9888 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a recent equipment purchase that occurred in the Okatie area.  The complainant was advised to contact the Solicitor's Office worthless check unit.

 

  • 1:33 p.m. - A white and black Next brand 18 speed bicycle was reported stolen from the side of the Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

  • 3:01 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported behind the Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

  • 3:39 p.m. - A gray Toyota Camry was stopped for an improper turn on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community where passenger Samson Tuma Adams, 20 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

  • 9:10 p.m. - Patrol Officers spotted Devin Ranay Mitchell inside of the Dairy Queen Restaurant at 80 Blue Heron Drive where she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Mitchell's charges stemmed from a March 4th larceny of a wedding ring from a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

 

  • 9:11 p.m. - Patrol Officers spotted Antwan Devashawn Cannick at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Cannick's charges stemmed from a June 11, 2014 domestic violence dispute at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.  He was later arrested for the offense on September 7, 2014 during a second domestic violence dispute at the same location.  Cannick was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on September 22, 2014 and placed on a time payment plan which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

  • 11:49 p.m. - Officers responded to the Handy Dan's Gulf Station after a call was received in reference to a black male subject shouting and cursing in the parking lot.  Upon arrival suspect Talid Rashee Drake, 34 of Ridgeland SC, stated that he had been receiving threats over the last few days.  When Officers began questioning him about the threats he became uncooperative.  Drake was ultimately placed on trespass notice for the Handy Dan's property at the request of Management without further incident.

  • 3:17 a.m. - A suspicious person driving a white Mercury Sable was reportedly kicking a door at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 5:52 a.m. - A Ford F250 and a Honda were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Green and West Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

  • 8:54 a.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident of the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street in reference to threatening posts left on Facebook as well as persons coming by the complainant's residence stemming from an ongoing dispute regarding a March 5th burglary which led to 2 assaults on March 5th.

  • 1:42 p.m. - An outdoor AC unit was reported stolen from a vacant bank owned residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

  • 4:50 p.m. - A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard resulting in the suspect fleeing the area when confronted by Store Management who began pursuing him on foot while calling 911. Archie Glenn Whitfield was ultimately apprehended by responding Officers in front of the Jasper County Magistrates Office at 967 West Adams Street and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 9:01 p.m. - A vehicle theft was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend led to the male allegedly taking her vehicle without permission.  The complainant did not wish to pursue charges as long as the vehicle was returned.  Officers made contact with the male party who stated that the female left the vehicle at his mother's house on Apple Blossom Lane but that he would make sure that it got back to her.

  • 9:19 p.m. - Two suspicious males were reported in a small white older model pickup at a storage building on Sisters Ferry Road.

MARCH 8, 2015

.

  • 1:24 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in conducting a driver safety checkpoint at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Mitchellville Road where Christopher Nicholas Ramsey was found to be operating a black Chrysler 200 while in possession of an open container of beer.  Further investigation revealed a silver Colt Defender 45 caliber handgun in the center console which was listed as stolen by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office stemming from a February 16, 2011 theft from a motor vehicle in Burton SC.  Ramsey was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 4:52 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a fight in progress in the parking lot of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where, upon arrival, Club Security was observed firing a handgun as a silver Mazda 6 exited the parking lot carrying males.  Officers then initiated blue lights to stop the vehicle at which time the driver accelerated leading Officers on a pursuit traveling from the exit 18 area and then North on Bees Creek Road.  The driver then turned onto Fordville Road and ultimately lost control at the Timberland Road intersection where he struck a mailbox before leaving the roadway and becoming stuck in a roadside drainage ditch. Driver Calvin Darrel Brown was placed under arrest without further incident at which time he was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as being in possession of an open container of liquor.  Further investigation revealed him to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to two outstanding Family Court bench warrants.  All three suspect vehicle occupants were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment as Palmetto Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Brown was later transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for booking and warrant service by Sheriff's Deputies after being cleared from the hospital.

  • 7:34 a.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on East Adams Street in reference to livestock in a neighboring yard.

  • 8:26 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a red Nissan Maxima traveling South on I-95 around the 14 mile marker traveling at a high rate of speed.

  • 9:40 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 10:48 a.m. - An unlocked tan 2006 Toyota Corolla with the keys left inside was reported stolen sometime between 7:00 p.m. March 7th and 9:00 a.m. March 8th from a residence on West Adams Street.  The vehicle has been entered into NCIC listed as stolen.

  • 11:42 a.m. - A property damage report was filed at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a tenant discovered a broken tail light on her blue Ford Taurus.

  • 12:37 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Hardware Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

  • 3:46 p.m. - Two motorcycles were reportedly impeding traffic flow on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker.

  • 3:51 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

  • 3:59 p.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to several subjects standing around in the parking lot.

  • 7:36 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to unwanted text messages from an automated system.

  • 8:11 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

  • 8:56 p.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on Dolphin Drive in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a black male looking inside of the windows of the residence.  Clemson Polite, 31 of Beaufort SC, was ultimately placed on trespass notice for the property at the homeowner's request without incident.

  • 9:30 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

  • 4:14 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after several gunshots were fired at a vehicle and a shooter was detained by Club Security. Ra'sheed Dominique Fields, 21 of Ridgeland SC, was ultimately arrested by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of convicted felon in possession of a firearm and carrying of a firearm onto premises of business selling alcohol.

  • 6:55 a.m. - A 2 to 4 year old Doberman was discovered wandering the truck parking area on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker.  The animal was collected and turned over to the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road pending identification by the rightful owner.

  • 8:55 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 11:07 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a red cab semi pulling a white box trailer traveling North on I-95 around the 14 mile marker tailgating and weaving in and out of traffic.

  • 2:54 p.m. - A burglary was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an unreported incident that allegedly occurred on March 4th.  The complainant stated that he did not report the event because he was attempting to get his property back on his own.

  • 4:44 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

  • 7:19 p.m. - A 39 year old white male was voluntarily transported by Ridgeland Officers from his residence on Live Oak Farm Road to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after reportedly making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself.

  • 8:04 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

  • 8:06 p.m. - A robbery was reported at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a short, heavyset white male with light blonde/reddish hair between 30 and 40 years of age entered the main lobby and demanded money from the on duty receptionist.  He then fled the area running East towards the Handy Dan's Gulf Station.  If you have any information on the suspect pictured below please call Jasper County Dispatch at 843-726-7519 or Sgt.   • 10:18 p.m. - A second noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.  The caller stated that the music was turned back up after Officers left the area during the first complaint filed at 8:04 p.m.

  • 11:10 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a subject asleep behind the wheel of a gold Ford Focus in the drive thru lane of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street where Jon Kayle Thompson was found to be sleeping with the vehicle in gear and his foot on the brake.  After waking him Officers discovered that he was operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of several open containers of beer. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

MARCH 6, 2015

.

  • 1:10 a.m. - Officers responded to a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street in reference to an assault that occurred on March 5th at 7:39 p.m. involving Gabriel Aguilar Jr. and a 15 year old juvenile.  Upon arrival Officers discovered that just after the ambulance left the area with the 15 year old victim on yesterday's date a dark gray Acura pulled into the neighborhood carrying three Hispanic males who forced a 17 year old male into the vehicle and brought him to a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  He was then taken inside of a residence where he was allegedly beaten and choked by Gabriel Aguilar Jr. who was armed with a handgun and a knife while accusing him of being responsible for a recent burglary.  The victim was ultimately brought back to Oakridge Trailer Park and dropped off at which time his mother called 911 and he was ultimately transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.  A warrant affidavit was then issued against Gabriel Aguilar Jr. charging him with assault & battery 1st in addition to the already existing assault & battery 3rd warrant issued against him in reference to the assault of the 15 year old.

  • 3:09 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in the parking lot of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after Club Security discovered a Taurus 9mm handgun concealed in a patron's waistband during a weapons pat down prior to entering the club.  Robert Lee Johnson, 25 of Savannah GA, was placed under arrest by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of unlawful carry of a handgun.

  • 5:09 a.m. - A black Acura was involved in a single vehicle collision on Tillman Road near the Tarboro Road intersection when it struck a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

  • 8:33 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white B&T Steele Insurance vehicle traveling South on I-95 around the 26 mile marker.

  • 3:08 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white sedan traveling South on I-95 around the 22 mile marker weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

  • 3:34 p.m. - A white Ford Mustang was stopped in the McDonald's parking lot at 8548 Grahamville Road after disregarding the stop sign at the I-95 North exit 21 off ramp where driver Andrew David Newton Jr. was found to be operating with no valid insurance coverage and displaying a tag registered to a Volkswagen as well as being in possession of a quantity of hydromorphone and several syringes.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 6:00 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street.

  • 6:49 p.m. - A civil complaint was filed by a customer at Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a reportedly malfunctioning ATM.

  • 8:02 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a green Jeep pulling a trailer traveling South on I-95 around the 20 mile marker.

  • 8:42 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the intersection of Carters Mill Road and Shadetree Street in reference to a male subject allegedly armed with a handgun walking in the roadway.

  • 8:46 p.m. - Gabriel Aguilar Jr. was placed under arrest at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to two outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Aguilar's charges stemmed from a March 5th assault in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community and another in the Carters Mill Estates Community on the same date.

  • 8:55 p.m. - A strong arm robbery was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an unreported incident that occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. involving a black male suspect forcibly removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim's pocket and then fleeing the area on foot running into a wooded area on the opposite side of First Avenue.

  • 9:21 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a stolen wallet at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.  Further investigation revealed that the incident had occurred earlier in the day at a residence on Bees Creek Road.  The case was then forwarded to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

  • 5:16 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a gold Jeep.

  • 7:07 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on James Taylor Drive.

  • 8:18 a.m. - A white female was reportedly walking in the middle of the roadway in front of the 21 Centre at 8084 East Main Street.

  • 8:30 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

  • 9:15 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in the truck parking area on I-95 North at the 17 mile marker.

  • 10:26 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Promise Way.

  • 12:12 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported on Sisters Ferry Road at the entrance to the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a gray Chevy Malibu.

  • 12:46 p.m. - A black Toyota Yaris was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Mariela Concepcion Arrua-Jimenez was found to be operating without a driver's license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 1:31 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a green Honda SUV traveling North on I-95 around the 14 mile marker.

  • 2:20 p.m. - A burglary was reported at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street after the homeowner discovered the front door standing open when she arrived home from work.  An undisclosed amount of cash, electronics and a 9mm handgun were reportedly stolen during the incident.

  • 3:03 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street in reference to unwanted telephone calls.

  • 4:48 p.m. - A blue Infinity SUV and an orange Dodge Neon were involved in a collision in front of Proctor's Small Engine Repair at 10626 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Two person were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

  • 7:39 p.m. - An assault was reported at the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street after a male suspect exited his vehicle and struck a 16 year old male in the face before getting back in his vehicle and leaving the area.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Gabriel Aguilar Jr., 24 of Ridgeland SC, charging him with assault & battery 3rd.  The juvenile victim was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

  • 8:04 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a stepmother and her stepson was reported at a residence on Owens Street.

  • 9:17 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Hampton County Detention Center at 411 Cemetery Road in Varnville SC where a hold had been placed on inmate Robert Tramel Youmans in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was transferred to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Youmans' charges stemmed from a January 13, 2015 incident at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive where he was arrested and charged after being found intoxicated on the property.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on February 2nd where he was found guilty during a trial in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

  • 11:25 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male sleeping in the complex laundry room.

  • 11:44 p.m. - A red cab tractor trailer was reportedly blocking the roadway for a short period of time on Bees Creek Road at the Rosa Lee Wright intersection.

  • 11:54 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

  • 2:06 a.m. - A gray Dodge Ram pickup was stopped for several moving violations on I-95 North at the 23 mile marker where driver Craig Thomas White was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of an open container of liquor.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 6:43 a.m. - A white Chevy Express Van was involved in a single vehicle collision when it struck a deer in the roadway at the intersection of Taylor Mill and Nuna Rock Road.  No injuries were reported.

  • 11:05 a.m. - An unoccupied Jasper County Sheriff's Office Patrol vehicle was struck by a Penske truck in the parking lot of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  No injuries were reported.

  • 2:09 p.m. - A black male suspect was captured on surveillance video stealing beer from the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street before leaving the property in a green vehicle.  If you have any information on the suspect pictured below please call Jasper County Central Dispatch at 843-726-7519 or Sgt. McIntosh at 843-321-0780.  Any information provided will be handled anonymously.

  • 2:12 p.m. - A Ford Taurus struck a legally parked gold Hyundai Elantra in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.  The driver of the Taurus then left the area without reporting the collision.  No injuries were reported.

  • 2:12 p.m. - A suspicious black male was reportedly harassing staff members and passers by in the parking lot of the Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 3:22 p.m. - Officers responded to the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a tenant reportedly making statements that he wished to do harm to himself.  The male subject was ultimately voluntarily transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

  • 3:41 p.m. - A 15 year old juvenile male was taken into custody at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to 2 juvenile petitions filed against him.  He was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Facility in Columbia SC.

  • 4:42 p.m. - A larceny was reported at a residence on Eleanor Avenue after a wedding ring was discovered missing from a jewelry box inside of the home.

  • 5:39 p.m. - A counterfeit $10 bill was allegedly received as change by a customer at the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.  The bill was turned over to the responding Officer to be submitted to the US Secret Service.

  • 7:09 p.m. - A male subject on a bicycle was reportedly struck by a vehicle which then fled the area in front of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.  The victim was able to continue to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where employees called 911.  He was later transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

  • 9:11 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Eleanor Avenue in reference to 2 females involved in a fight in the front yard.  The alleged victim declined pursuing charges and Devin Ranay Mitchell, 20 of Beaufort SC, was placed on trespass notice for the property at the request of the homeowner without further incident.

MARCH 3, 2015

  • 1:52 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a dark colored Chevy Trailblazer traveling North on I-95 weaving in and out of traffic.

  • 5:04 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 5:54 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.

  • 3:49 p.m. - Timothy Patrick Malphrus Jr. was placed under arrest in front of Pam's Barber Shop at 716 West Adams Street and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Malphrus' charges stemmed from a February 27th incident at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.

  • 8:06 p.m. - A missing person report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after the caller's son failed to return home from school.  Darick McPherson was last seen leaving the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail on Monday afternoon wearing his school uniform.  He is described as a 15 year old black male standing 5' 4" tall and weighing 115 pounds and has been entered into NCIC as a missing/endangered juvenile. 
    UPDATE: Darick McPherson returned home unharmed on March 4.

  • 10:34 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute at a residence on Holly Street reportedly involving physical violence.  Anthony Bernard Gibson, 42 of Ridgeland, was ultimately placed under arrest by Deputies following a brief attempt to resist and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of criminal domestic violence and resisting arrest.

MARCH 2, 2015

.

  • 1:22 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a tractor trailer traveling South on I-95 around the 28 mile marker crossing the center line numerous times.

.

  • 7:25 a.m. - A blue Toyota van and a green Volvo were involved in a collision in front of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  The driver of the Volvo, Torrell Kenma Kemp 29 of Ridgeland SC, then fled the area prior to Police arrival.  A check of Kemp's driving history revealed that his South Carolina driver's license is currently under a state of suspension in addition to him being listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to a December 24, 2014 traffic stop at Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was arrested and charged with driving under suspension and simple possession of marijuana.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on January 12, 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in his absence resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest. New affidavits have been filed in reference to the collision under the charges of driving under suspension and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

  • 9:35 a.m. - A harassment report was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

  • 1:56 p.m. - A male riding a bicycle on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker attempted to flee into a wooded area when approached by Patrol Officers.  He was quickly located and warned that it is illegal for persons to be walking or riding bicycles on the interstate.

.

  • 2:47 p.m. - Officers responded to the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an armed robbery of a male victim involving a knife.  After collecting evidence and statements Officers located suspect Dakota Mathew Jeffries on McCormack Avenue where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Harvey Eugene Dunn Jr. was spotted a short time later on Third Avenue at the Green Street intersection where he was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 5:03 p.m. - A green Dodge Caravan and a gray Chrysler 300 were involved in a collision in the parking lot of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

  • 7:10 p.m. - A theft was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 163 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to three televisions being taken from a residence by an acquaintance of the tenant.

MARCH 1, 2015

.

  • 12:17 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway where an open door was discovered.  The building was cleared and the door secured before leaving the area.

  • 1:56 a.m. - Two black males in a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse were reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

.

  • 2:30 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies during a traffic stop at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver of a Ford Taurus repeatedly refused to follow the Deputy's orders.  Josa M. Shack, 30 of Ridgeland, was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of public disorderly conduct.

  • 10:42 a.m. - A white BMW was stopped for speeding and an unsafe lane change violation on I-95 North at the 18 mile marker where driver Bernard Alphonzo Glover Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to registered owner Kasandra V. Polite, 34 of Summerville SC, after she was cited and assigned a court date for allowing an unauthorized driver.

  • 1:28 p.m. - A red Ford Freestyle was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Jimmie Tyrone Williams Jr., 37 of Tallahassee FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

  • 2:07 p.m. - A theft was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive after a resident discovered that a window had been broken out on his blue Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot.    Upon further inspection electronics and clothing were discovered missing from inside of the vehicle.

  • 7:49 p.m. - A silver vehicle operating with no headlights in operation was reported traveling South on Jacob Smart Boulevard around the exit 22 interchange.
