JANUARY 26, 2015

 

  • 12:07 a.m. - A blue Chrysler 200 was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North at the exit 22 off ramp after being tracked traveling 118 mph in a 70 mph zone.  Driver Quincy Baker was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of reckless driving as his passenger Shacreeta Dorille, 26 of Ridgeland SC, was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

 

  • 5:07 a.m. - A property damage report was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street after the complainant discovered damage to their silver Hyundai Sonata.

 

  • 9:32 a.m. - A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to an abandoned residence on Lydia's Lane.

 

  • 10:20 a.m. - Tauris Donte Maymi was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Municipal Courtroom at 1 Town Square after being sentenced to a term of 60 days in jail by Judge T. Scoggins following a rule to show cause hearing.  Maymi's charges stemmed from an October 12, 2014 incident at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested and charged after being found in possession of a stolen handgun and a quantity of marijuana.  He was then found guilty of the simple possession of marijuana charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 17, 2014 and sentenced to a term of Community Service which he failed to comply with resulting in a rule to show cause hearing being scheduled.

 

  • 11:40 a.m. - A reckless driver was reportedly driving a gold Toyota passenger car straddling the center line on I-95 around the 22 mile marker.

 

  • 12:03 p.m. - Officers responded to a residence on Allen Drive in reference to an assault that reportedly occurred at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  The victim stated that she had been struck in the face by the boyfriend of a female friend of her's inside of a room at the motel.  She could not recall the room number and declined pursuing any charges against the suspect.

 

  • 12:41 p.m. - A white Lincoln Town Car and a white Dodge Ram pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Adams and South Green Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 3:02 p.m. - A harassment reported was filed in reference to unwanted and threatening text messages received from an inmate at the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 4:54 p.m. - An incorrigible juvenile report was filed in reference to a 15 year old male at a residence on Holly Street.

 

  • 5:38 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 8:34 p.m. - An assault was reported by a female subject in reference to threats made by her estranged husband at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.  The incident occurred approximately 10 days prior to being reported.

 

  • 8:47 p.m. - A Combat 38 caliber handgun was reported stolen from a gun safe inside of a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.  There were no signs of forced entry into the residence or the safe.

 

 

JANUARY 25, 2015

 

  • 2:57 a.m. - A green Jeep Grand Cherokee was stopped for a lane change violation on Highway 17 at the Smiths Crossing intersection where driver Gerardo Carmona-Gatica was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 4:20 a.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a male and female with one child in common at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive where a verbal argument turned physical before the female left the scene in the male victim's vehicle without permission. A warrant affidavit was filed against Konnie Lenor Brown for the offense of criminal domestic violence.  At 5:30 p.m. Officers received a call from the male stating that Brown had returned to the residence and locked him out as he attempted to gather personal items.  Brown was arrested at the residence and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  She was previously arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence during a January 16, 2015 incident at the same residence.

 

  • 5:40 a.m. - A white Kenworth semi was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker after striking a deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 7:26 a.m. - A blue Pontiac was stopped for speeding on I-95 North at the 19 mile marker where driver Thomas K. Wilson, 31 of Tamarac FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for both offenses and assigned a court date before departing the area.

 

  • 10:11 a.m. - A gold Chevy Malibu was stopped for speeding on I-95 North at the 21 mile marker where driver Charles Rein III, 28 of Leesburg FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for both offenses and assigned a court date before departing the area.

 

  • 3:02 p.m. - A white Chevy Impala and a blue Toyota Camry were involved in a collision at the entrance to Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 6:22 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident on East Main Street in reference to a male subject allegedly stalking the complainant.

 

  • 9:42 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

  • 10:20 p.m. - Patrol Officers spotted a white Ford F150 in the parking lot of the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive where a 21 year old Hispanic male was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  The subject, along with a 17 year old female passenger, was advised to leave the area with a verbal warning.

 

 

JANUARY 24, 2015

.

  • 12:43 p.m. - A green Ford Crown Victoria was struck by an unknown vehicle causing damage to the front grill area while parked unoccupied in front of the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street.  The suspect vehicle then left the area without reporting the collision.

  • 1:21 p.m. - A black iPhone 4 with a gray and pink case was reported stolen from the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street after an employee accidentally left it inside of the business.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

  • 1:55 p.m. - A complaint was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a former tenant was unable to re-enter their room to gather personal belongings due to the card swipe on the door lock being inoperable.

  • 4:29 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.

 

  • 7:01 p.m. - A black GMC Acadia was stopped for a failure to yield right of way violation after narrowly avoiding a collision while merging onto I-95 North at the exit 21 area where driver Leonard Timothy Wiggins Jr. was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of open containers of beer and liquor.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

 

JANUARY 23, 2015

 

  • 10:58 a.m. - A report of possible gunshots was filed by a Purdy Street resident in reference to sounds heard coming from the area of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 1:14 p.m. - A property damage complaint was filed at the Citgo Station at 107 Sycamore Drive after a customer accidentally forgot to remove a fuel pump nozzle from his vehicle before driving away which caused the line to separate.  The customer informed store personnel of the incident at which time it was determined to be a civil dispute.

  • 4:54 p.m. - Officers responded to the area of I-95 after a road rage incident was reported between 2 vehicles traveling South around the 33 mile marker where one of the drivers involved had allegedly pointed a handgun at the complainant and attempted to run her vehicle off of the roadway. A black Dodge Charger was stopped for a tag violation around the 19 mile marker where driver Antonio Remond Sheppard, 39 of Savannah, was found to be in possession of a silver and black 380 caliber Cobra handgun matching the description the caller had given.  Jasper County Deputies arrived on scene and placed him under arrest and transported him to the Jasper County Detention Center under a charge of pointing or presenting a firearm due to the fact that the incident had occurred outside of the Ridgeland city limits.  He was cited by Ridgeland Officers for TV screen in view of driver and improper display due to the tag on his vehicle being covered with a tinted film.

  • 5:57 p.m. - A black Nissan Altima was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wire.  No injuries were reported.

  • 7:04 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a male and female was reported at a residence on Sisters Ferry Road.

.

  • 7:15 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Childrens Pediatrics Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

.

  • 7:23 p.m. - A report of a person jumping in front of traffic was filed at the intersection of Bees Creek and Busy Bee Road.

.

  • 7:53 p.m. - A property damage complaint was filed by a resident at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road after the caller was awakened by a loud noise against her window.  Officers discovered the outer pane of glass to have been broken by an unknown person but the interior pane remained intact.

  • 8:46 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a former tenant not being allowed to retrieve personal items.  The caller refused to provide their name or location.

  • 10:33 p.m. - a vehicle alarm was reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

  • 11:54 p.m. - A red Ford Escape was stopped for an improper lane change on Highway 17 at the Kato Bay Road intersection where driver Monica Marie Johnson was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina beginners permit stemming from a failure to pay traffic ticket violation.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

JANUARY 22, 2015

.

  • 6:20 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.

.

  • 10:38 a.m. - Jakwan Beacher turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him stemming from a January 14, 2015 domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 12:31 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at Ned's Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 2:29 p.m. - Officers spotted Antonio James Gadson outside of the Goodwill Store at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from an August 1, 2014 domestic dispute at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 8:29 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported at the intersection of Owens Street and First Avenue.

  • 9:11 p.m. - A Mercury Villager mini van struck a parked Buick LeSabre at a residence on Colony Drive and then left the scene without reporting the collision. The suspect vehicle was located shortly after parked at a neighboring residence on Colony Drive where Jocelyn Burley Gasbarre, 39 of Ridgeland SC, was issued citations for reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

JANUARY 21, 2015

.

  • 4:28 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of Ingram and Wiley Street.

.

  • 9:25 a.m. - A white 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup was reported stolen from an East Main Street residence sometime between Friday January 16th and Wednesday January 21st.  The vehicle had no tags assigned to it.

.

  • 10:02 a.m. - A white and orange Volvo tractor with twin trailers was involved in a collision on I-95 South at the exit 21 overpass when the driver lost control and struck the guard rail.  At 11:10 a.m., as Officers and SCDOT Personnel worked to clear the area of debris, a second collision occurred when a white International model tractor trailer failed to stop in time for slowed traffic resulting in a collision with a Ford Edge which then struck a Kia Forté.  The tractor trailer then continued for a short distance striking a Toyota Corolla before ultimately coming to a stop.  A 2 year old male and his mother were airlifted from the scene to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment as traffic was rerouted South on Jacob Smart Boulevard from exit 22 to exit 18 for approximately 2 hours.  No injuries were reported on the initial accident involving the Volvo tractor trailer.

  • 2:30 p.m. - A silver Lexus ES350 and a white Dodge Charger were involved in a collision at the intersection of Russell Street and First Avenue.  No injuries were reported.

  • 3:41 p.m. - A property damage report was filed by a resident on Second Avenue in reference to scratches made on the victim's Mercury Mountaineer.

.

  • 4:27 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center at 300 California Avenue in Moncks Corner SC where inmate Bradly M. Mull was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Mull's charges stemmed from an April 23, 2008 traffic stop on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where he was cited and assigned a court date after being found operating under a suspended Florida driver's license.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on May 19, 2008 to answer to the charges at which time he was found guilty at a trial in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

  • 4:40 p.m. - A disabled vehicle was reportedly stopped in the roadway in front of the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

  • 6:25 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported driving a white Toyota Tundra traveling South on I-95.  The vehicle was ultimately stopped by South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers around the 21 mile marker.

  • 10:04 p.m. - Officers responded to the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street in reference to a male subject in possession of a handgun.  Upon arrival Officers learned that a 15 year old male juvenile had approached the victim's vehicle in the parking lot asking where another male was with whom he had been involved in a fight during an earlier unreported incident.  When the victim stated they didn't know the whereabouts of the person he was looking for the juvenile lifted his shirt presenting a black handgun tucked into his waistband. Officers then spotted the male in between the Pizza Bella Restaurant and the Days Inn Motel at which time he was found to be in possession of a black pellet gun, (pictured below), tucked into his waistband.  Another male subject standing with the juvenile was also found to be in possession of a black toy gun tucked into his waistband but was never identified as having presented it during the incident in the parking lot.  The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Facility in Columbia under the charges of pointing or presenting a firearm and public disorderly conduct.  The same male was previously arrested and charged by the Ridgeland Police Department during an August 14, 2014 rash of vehicle break ins and property damage incidents in the town limits.  Since his release he has been named numerous times as a primary suspect in several more recent vehicle break ins.

JANUARY 20, 2015

.

  • 1:56 a.m. - A black Chevy Impala was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Lucretia Harrison was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver's license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Passenger Tabitha Jacobs, who was identified as the primary renter of the vehicle, was issued a citation and assigned a court date for allowing an unauthorized driver prior to leaving the area.

  • 4:28 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 8:43 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a white Toyota Camry traveling South on I-95 around the 22 mile marker.

.

  • 10:19 a.m. - A black Chrysler 300 was stopped at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after being tracked traveling 87 mph on I-95 South where driver Terrio Terry was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with a previous conviction for driving under suspension on his record.  Further investigation revealed him to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana as well as operating with no valid insurance coverage at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 10:46 a.m. - A property damage report was filed at the Turpin Park tennis court area at 901 North Logan Street after numerous areas of graffiti were discovered on the clay having been written after suspects broke through the locked gate sometime over the Holiday weekend.

  • 12:51 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Beauty World Store at 8205 East Main Street after a customer's debit card was mistakenly overcharged.  A refund was provided to the customer prior to leaving the store.

  • 3:31 p.m. - An animal complaint was filed by an East Adams Street resident after several stray cats were discovered living under the complainant's home.

.

  • 4:29 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported in a silver Chevy Camaro traveling South on I-95 at a high rate of speed.

.

  • 5:57 p.m. - A black Harley Davidson Buell motorcycle was involved in a single vehicle collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Wilson Street.  No injuries were reported.

  • 8:05 p.m. - A silver Chrysler PT Cruiser was stopped for a defective equipment violation on Grays Highway at the Oak Plantation Commons intersection where driver Yvette Heyward was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with a previous conviction for driving under suspension on her record.  Further investigation revealed her to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Heyward's charges stemmed from a June 3, 2014 traffic stop on East Main Street at the I-95 junction where she was arrested and charged for several vehicle and license violations.  She was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 30, 2014 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which she failed to comply with resulting in 4 warrants being issued for her arrest.

  • 7:26 p.m. - A suspicious event was reported at a residence on Bailey Lane after noises were heard behind the home leading the caller to believe that someone was possibly trespassing on the property.

  • 8:29 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at a residence on East Adams Street after a male subject became angry that the complainant's son was not at home.  The subject left the area without further incident.

  • 11:26 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

JANUARY 19, 2015

.

  • 7:32 a.m. - A harassment report was filed by a female complainant in reference to obscene messages left on her voicemail by a former male acquaintance.

.

  • 9:00 a.m. - A civil dispute was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an agreement made between two females concerning replacement of a vehicle windshield which had reportedly been broken during an ongoing dispute between the two.

.

  • 9:19 a.m. - A property damage report was filed by a homeowner after discovering a broken window on the rear of a vacant residence on South Logan Street.

.

  • 12:06 p.m. - A black male subject was witnessed stealing store items from the meat counter at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The suspect then left the store on foot after becoming aware that he had been seen committing the theft by Management.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

  • 12:24 p.m. - A 2010 black Ford Fusion was stopped for a suspended tag violation where driver Adrian Polite, 22 of Ridgeland, was found to be operating with no proof of insurance.  He was cited and assigned a court date for both violations before leaving the area as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 9:02 p.m. - Patrol Officers spotted a dark blue BMW parked outside of the main entry gate at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road where a black male ran towards the vehicle after seeing Police presence.  A traffic stop was then conducted at which time the driver sped towards the Officer in an effort to avoid contact resulting in a pursuit being initiated.  The suspect then got onto I-95 traveling South in the Northbound lanes and then left the interstate at exit 21 getting into the Southbound lanes continuing to refuse to stop for blue lights and siren.  He then stopped around the 20 mile marker at which time the pursuing Officer attempted to detain him after he refused to exit the vehicle.  The suspect then put the vehicle back into gear while resisting and struggling with the Officer and sped away a second time continuing to evade.  Ridgeland Officers discontinued the pursuit around the 14 mile marker as the Hardeeville Police Department was advised of the situation.  David Anthony Jenkins was ultimately pursued and captured by Hardeeville Officers around the 8 mile marker on I-95 South at which time he was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of failure to stop for blue lights and driving under suspension.  Warrant affidavits were filed by the Ridgeland Police Department under the same charges to be served at the Detention Center.

JANUARY 18, 2015

.

  • 2:52 a.m. - A suspicious dark blue passenger car was reportedly driving through the area of Wise Street and Sunset Circle several times.

.

  • 1:51 p.m. - Officers spotted a pedestrian walking South on I-95 around the 20 mile marker where 73 year old John Maughan was found to be listed as a missing/endangered person out of an assisted living facility in Baltimore MD since December 15, 2014.  A custody order was then issued by Jasper County Probate Judge A. Kleckley as Maughan was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville where he was turned over to their custody.

  • 5:40 p.m. - A reckless driver in a red Dodge pickup was reportedy driving South on Bees Creek Road.

.

  • 5:50 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

.

  • 7:53 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

.

  • 10:29 p.m. - A property damage report was filed at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street after the front passenger side tire of an employee's Honda Accord was punctured.  A witness to the incident contacted the victim after seeing a female suspect fleeing from the area running to the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

JANUARY 17, 2015

.

  • 12:37 a.m. - A passing motorist reported seeing several flashlights in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.

  • 3:57 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.

.

  • 4:28 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of Grays Highway and Russell Street.

.

  • 6:50 a.m. - A blue Nissan Versa was stopped for a lane change violation on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Gerald Fils was found to be operating under a suspended Virginia driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 7:37 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Family Dollar Store at 74 South Green Street.

  • 10:29 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

.

  • 11:01 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

.

  • 12:53 p.m. - A green Mazda 4 was stopped for reckless driving as it turned in to the parking lot of the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street where driver Brittany Jeffords attributed the driving to a vehicle defect.  In addition, she was found to be operating without a driver's license at which time she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 4:47 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on McCormack Avenue in reference to a mother attempting to evict her 19 year old son.  The caller was advised to contact the County Magistrate's Office for eviction proceedings.

  • 4:49 p.m. - A red Kia Soul was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Hanna George, 19 of Fort Mill SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was issued citations for the offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

  • 8:14 p.m. - A larceny was reported at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street after a male and female couple left the business without paying after their credit card was declined.  The subjects were in the restaurant from approximately 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.  If you have any information on the subjects pictured below please contact Lt. JANUARY 16, 2015

  • 4:38 a.m. - Officers responded to a domestic between a male and female with a child in common at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive.  During the course of the investigation Konnie Brown was determined to be the primary aggressor at which point she was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 12:27 p.m. - A homeowner discovered a pink Kent Del Rio women's bicycle behind a storage building at a residence on North Railroad Avenue while removing items for a yard sale.  The bicycle was found to be listed as stolen stemming from a January 10th incident at a residence on McCormack Avenue.  It was returned to the rightful owner without further incident.

  • 2:27 p.m. - A black Dodge Charger was stopped for a speeding and tinted tag cover violation on I-95 South around the 21 mile marker where driver Cedric Brown II was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina tag and driver's license as well as being in possession of a quantity of schedule II narcotics.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

  • 2:37 p.m. - A red Honda Civic was stopped for an equipment violation as well as displaying an expired tag on Highway 278 at the Live Oak Road intersection where driver Kevin Reilly was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from a previous DUI conviction as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Folly Beach Police Department in reference to a failure to appear violation on a May 2013 public disorderly conduct charge.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 4:12 p.m. - Two suspicious males were reported at the intersection of Ingram Street and Hagin Drive.

  • 5:13 p.m. - A white Nissan Quest van was stopped for having no operational brake lights on Wood Duck Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where passenger Marisol Cervantes, 18 of Bluffton SC, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.  The driver was issued a citation and assigned a court date for no driver's license as Marisol was turned over to the custody of Sheriff's Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Cervantes' charges stemmed from a May 13, 2014 incident at the Wal-Mart Store in Hardeeville where she was arrested and charged with shoplifting.  She then failed to appear in court to answer to the charge on June 5, 2014 resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.

  • 10:37 p.m. - A fight involving several subjects was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  The parties involved fled the area in a gold Acura prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

JANUARY 15, 2015

  • 12:18 a.m. - A green Honda Civic was stopped for a driving left of center violation on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Mango Drive intersection where driver Maurice Barnes was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as with no valid insurance coverage.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 1:50 a.m. - A suspicious person was reportedly caught breaking into a vehicle at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

  • 8:25 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

  • 11:02 a.m. - A civil dispute was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a tenant reportedly violating a motel policy concerning a certain number of visitors allowed in a rented room.  Management was unable to produce the policy in writing for the tenant who then left the property of her own accord after being advised of the process for filing a civil suit.

  • 1:35 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported on Smiths Crossing at the South Jacob Smart Boulevard intersection.

  • 2:19 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 5:14 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at the Wendys Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road after an employee spotted a towing company repossessing her vehicle from the business parking lot.

JANUARY 14, 2015

  • 5:26 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Third Avenue.

  • 7:51 a.m. - A Chevy Blazer and a Hyundai Sonata were involved in a collision at the intersection of Tillman and Tarboro Road.  No injuries were reported.

  • 10:46 a.m. - A report of possible animal neglect was filed in reference to a dog tied outside of a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

  • 11:32 a.m. - A green Ford Explorer was stopped for a suspended tag violation on East Main Street at the Logan Street intersection where driver Elizabeth Frazier was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as having no valid insurance coverage on the vehicle.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 1:45 p.m. - A white Chevy Equinox was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker where driver Sherronick Demetria Willis, 22 of Bluffton SC, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office. She was turned over to the custody of Sheriff's Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a family member with Willis' permission.  Her charges stemmed from a July 22, 2013 incident at the Wal-Mart store in Hardeeville where, while employed as a cashier, she was captured on surveillance video stealing store merchandise resulting in a breach of trust warrant being issued against her.  She was then arrested for the offense on July 23, 2013 but failed to appear in court to answer for the charge resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.

  • 2:27 p.m. - A larceny report was filed at a vacant residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community after the property owner discovered that the outdoor A/C unit had been stolen from the rear of the residence.

  • 3:07 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported in a wooded area by the main entry gate to the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

  • 4:04 p.m. - A red Nissan pickup was reportedly driving recklessly traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland nearly causing several collisions.

  • 4:04 p.m. - A red Chevy Venture was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker where driver Ignacio Valle-Hernandez was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as being listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Hernandez's charges stemmed from an August 10, 2009 traffic stop on I-95 South at the 22 mile marker where he was arrested and charged with failure to register vehicle and no driver's license.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on August 24, 2009 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

  • 5:19 p.m. - A sexual assault complaint was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an incident that reportedly occurred on Friday January 9th when the complainant caught a 22 year old male kissing her 12 year old daughter.  This case is currently under investigation with charges pending.

  • 7:49 p.m. - A black Cadillac DTS reportedly struck a piece of road debris on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

  • 8:39 p.m. - An unoccupied vehicle was reportedly blocking the roadway by the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

  • 9:51 p.m. - A welfare check was requested at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to a reportedly disoriented female subject on the property.

  • 10:45 p.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where a female complainant had been reportedly struck in the face by her boyfriend during an argument.  The suspect left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival and the victim declined pursuing any charges.  She was advised of the process to obtain an order of protection.

JANUARY 13, 2015

  • 3:05 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a subject knocking on random doors at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive where they discovered Robert Tramel Youmans highly intoxicated outside of the main lobby door.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 7:33 a.m. - A gold Dodge Ram pickup parked at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community was reportedly rummaged through during the nighttime hours with a mailbox key being stolen from the center console.  There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.

  • 3:25 p.m. - Officers responded to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to an ex-employee leaving the premises without paying for his food. Garland Page Walker III, 27 of Columbia SC, was spotted shortly after at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street where he was placed on trespass notice for the Waffle House property at Management's request.

  • 11:35 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a tenant being denied a refund after being unsatisfied with the condition of her room.

JANUARY 12, 2015

  • 2:57 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 7:16 a.m. - A black Volvo and a black Chevy Tahoe were involved in a collision at the intersection of Green Street and Highway 278.  No injuries were reported.

  • 8:00 a.m. - A brown GMC Sierra and a gray Toyota Camry were involved in a collision at the intersection of Green Street and Highway 278.  No injuries were reported.

  • 10:16 a.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to unwanted telephone calls and text messages received from an ex-boyfriend who now resides in Savannah GA.  Officers contacted the other party by telephone who stated that the complainant has been harassing him in the same manner.

  • 2:29 p.m. - A Hispanic male was reported missing from a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  Julio Angel Mercede-Ortiz was last seen leaving the residence at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday January 10th driving a 2005 GMC Yukon displaying NC tag number YZZ-5598.  He is described as a 41 year old 5' 5" Hispanic male weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.  Information received from his wireless provider shows his cell phone as last being used on today's date at 4:00 p.m. in Philadelphia PA.

  • 6:08 p.m. - A white Chevy Impala was stopped for an expired tag violation at the Wendys Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road where driver Deanchalon Singleton, 24 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date prior to leaving the area.

  • 7:10 p.m.- A domestic dispute was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a female complainant not being allowed to gather her personal belongings from her boyfriend following an argument.

  • 7:41 p.m. - A female student from the Ridgeland High School reported receiving threatening Facebook posts and text messages from several fellow students.

.

  • 8:47 p.m. - A larceny report was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a black male approached the complainant asking to use his cell phone to make a call.  After being handed the phone the male then fled the area running towards the rear of the complex.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Davonte Quentin Freeman, 22 of Ridgeland, for the offense.

  • 10:28 p.m. - A property damage report was filed by a resident at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street after an unknown person removed the screen from a kitchen window.

JANUARY 11, 2015

.

  • 12:57 a.m. - Officers responded to a residence on Tickton Hall Road in reference to a 911 call reporting that an armed robbery had occurred at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.  The incident reportedly began at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street just after midnight where a black male subject approached the victim asking for a ride to the Bobops Station in order to purchase marijuana which the victim agreed to.  After arriving in the Bobops parking lot a dark colored Toyota Camry reportedly pulled up next to the victim's vehicle at which time three black males exited, one of which opened her door and pointed a handgun, resulting in the theft of a cell phone, an undisclosed amount of cash and a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

  • 3:38 a.m. - A white Chevy 1500 pickup was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Mainor Alvarez was found to be operating without a valid driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 9:40 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted at the Lowcountry Bio-Mass Manufacturing Facility at 579 Nimmer Turf Road after an open 911 call was received at Jasper County Emergency Services.

  • 11:15 a.m. - A Ridgeland Police Department vehicle was struck by a piece of road debris while traveling North on I-95 at exit 22 causing damage to the windshield.

.

  • 11:41 a.m. - A blue Toyota Sienna van was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Melissa Brookfield was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of several open containers.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 1:36 p.m. - A Blue Dodge Challenger and a White Chevy Impala were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

  • 3:11 p.m. - Patrol Officers discovered a silver Mazda 3 parked unoccupied at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive which was found to be listed as stolen out of St. Cloud MN.  According to Management, the vehicle had been left on the property for the last 2 days without being moved.  Information concerning the former motel tenants who were reportedly in possession of the vehicle was forwarder to the St. Cloud Police Department.

  • 4:00 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an assault at Webster's Automotive at 10137 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a male subject involved in a collision on I-95 reportedly threatened an employee with a knife.

  • 8:33 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted on a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after information was received in reference to an intoxicated subject possibly attempting to operate a vehicle with their child.

  • 10:38 p.m. - A report of possible underage drinking was received in reference to a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

  • 11:42 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies responding to an activated alarm at a residence on Bees Creek Road where an open door was discovered showing signs of forced entry.  Officers cleared the home finding no persons inside.

JANUARY 10, 2015

.

  • 1:26 a.m. - A red Mitsubishi Eclipse was stopped for speeding on North Jacob Smart Boulevard at the East Wilson Street intersection where driver Michael Marks was found to be operating under a suspended Maryland driver's license stemming from multiple failure to pay child support violations.  He was placed under arrest at which time he was also found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine resulting in an additional charge.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

  • 1:29 a.m. - A tan Honda Accord was struck by a green Dodge Stratus on East Main Street in front of the EZ Stop II BP Station at which time the driver of the Stratus fled the area on foot as passenger Billy Wheeler exited the vehicle and remained in the parking lot.  During the course of the investigation Officers recovered several open containers of alcohol from the Stratus and determined Wheeler to be highly intoxicated at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The driver of the Stratus was identified as Brandon Boyles, 22 of Ridgeland.

  • 6:07 a.m. - A Nissan utility van was involved in a single vehicle collision when the driver fell asleep at the wheel while driving West on Old House Road.  The vehicle then left the roadway and came to a stop after striking a tree which then fell across the roadway impeding traffic for approximately 2 hours.  No injuries were reported in the collision.

  • 9:24 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.

  • 4:39 p.m. - Two Kent Del Rio bicycles were reported stolen from a storage building at a residence on McCormack Avenue.  One of the bicycles had been found discarded in front of the Wild Boys Deer Processing facility at 59 Brabham Street around 3:36 p.m. and taken to the Ridgeland Police Department.  It was returned to the McCormack Avenue victim after being positively identified as one of the stolen items. The second bicycle remains outstanding and is identified as a pink Kent Del Rio women's bicycle.

  • 6:52 p.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street in reference to an ex-employee being on the property despite being asked to leave by Management.  The subject ultimately left the area of his own accord prior to Law Enforcement's arrival.

  • 7:06 p.m.- A vehicle reportedly backed into another and then fled the area in the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.  The complainant then changed his statement after discovering that he had been mistaken and that his vehicle had not been struck.

  • 8:03 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a party at a neighboring apartment.

  • 11:33 p.m. - A residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue was burglarized sometime between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. with the suspect/s entering through a kitchen window and stealing a Ruger 9mm handgun from an upstairs bedroom.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.

JANUARY 9, 2015

  • 6:14 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 7:22 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

  • 9:05 a.m. - Two suspicious Hispanic males were reported inside of the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

  • 1:34 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at a vacant residence on Hagin Drive where a male subject hired by the property owner to clear the home of belongings left behind by recently evicted tenants was interrupted by said tenants attempting to gather the items left behind well beyond the time limit the law requires. Officers contacted the property owner by telephone who agreed to allow the former tenants until the end of the day to gather and clear the items.

  • 4:14 p.m. - A red Mazda 3 was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker where driver Janelle Makmann, 18 of Bedford NH, and passenger Nicole Buono, 18 of Conway SC, were both found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  A search of the vehicle revealed an open container of wine resulting in an additional charge of minor in possession of alcohol against Makmann.  Both were cited for the given offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

  • 12:39 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

  • 8:33 a.m. - An Acura passenger car was reported stolen from a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community sometime between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m.  Patrol Officers soon after located the vehicle at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail having been driven there by the complainant's son after missing the morning school bus.

  • 12:36 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Detectives' Office at 1460 Carters Mill Road.

  • 2:19 p.m. - A Toyota Rav 4 and a Honda Accord were involved in a collision at the intersection of Smiths Crossing and South Logan Street.  No injuries were reported.

  • 2:58 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to an incident that occurred at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

  • 4:40 p.m. - A gray Nissan Altima was stopped for a fraudulent tag violation on I-95 North where driver Shavonne Schoolfield was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with a previous conviction for driving under suspension.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 7:01 a.m. - Faith Sanders turned herself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her stemming from a September 7, 2014 property damage incident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

  • 7:52 a.m. - A motorist on I-95 reported a suspicious male walking by the Ridgeland Correctional Institution fence line around exit 22.

  • 9:56 a.m. - A larceny was reported by the Bank of Walterboro in reference to an unoccupied bank owned residence at 123 Beach Street where an unknown person caused damage to the interior of the home while stealing copper wiring.

  • 11:16 a.m. - A civil dispute was reported in reference to a privately owned vehicle sale that occurred on December 14, 2014 in the parking lot of the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive.

  • 2:54 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Live Oak Road.

  • 3:43 p.m. - A Jeep and a Toyota were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

  • 4:40 p.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 24 year old male occupant reportedly damaged numerous pieces of electronics and furniture inside the home during an argument with his mother over getting a job.

  • 6:09 p.m. - A Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Scion were involved in a collision on First Avenue at the North Jasper Street intersection.  One subject was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

  • 10:33 p.m. - Officers responding to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway discovered an open door with no signs of forced entry.  The Church was cleared with the assistance of Jasper County Deputies before leaving the area.

JANUARY 6, 2015

  • 4:00 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 9:15 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to a residence on Pine Level Church Road in Early Branch SC where Corey Kraus was placed under and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to three warrants being issued for his arrest.  Kraus' charges stemmed from a January 2nd traffic stop of a white Toyota Camry on East Wilson Street where he provided Officers with the name and date of birth of his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend in order to conceal his identity.  He was cited for a failure to yield right of way violation and allowed to leave the area under the fraudulent name but was positively identified as Corey Kraus through DMV records and Officer dash cam footage the following day after the person whose information he used saw himself listed on Ridgelandpd.com.  Warrants were then issued for his arrest charging him with the original failure to yield right of way violation as well as providing false information to Police and a no driver's license charge stemming from his Maryland driver's license currently being under a state of suspension.

  • 9:18 a.m. - A report was filed in reference to three small dogs being left outdoors in the cold during the past 3 nights at a residence on First Avenue.

  • 9:42 a.m. - A property damage complaint was filed by a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a legally parked black Chevy Impala being struck by an unknown vehicle which then left the area without reporting the collision.

  • 9:58 a.m. - A property damage report was filed at the concession stand behind the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway after a booster club representative discovered a metal roll up concession gate had been pushed in indicative of someone attempting to break in without success.

  • 10:04 a.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where a verbal dispute had turned physical causing the victim to flee to a relative's residence.  Vernell Bolden was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of criminal domestic violence.

  • 11:37 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

  • 1:54 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway SC where a hold had been placed on inmate Devin Washington in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for warrant service.  Washington's charges stemmed from a January 30, 2013 traffic stop on I-95 North at the 22 mile marker where he was arrested and charged for numerous license and moving violations.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on February 11, 2013 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for his arrest.

  • 3:24 p.m. - A green Lincoln Town Car was stopped in the Harveys Grocery Store parking lot at 8205 East Main Street after Officers spotted Amanda Baker behind the wheel driving East on Wilson Street under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  She was placed under arrest for the violation at which time she was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine resulting in an additional charge.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 5:56 p.m. - A complaint was filed in reference to a black male subject asking customers and passers by for money at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

  • 6:25 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported behind a residence on Third Avenue.

.

  • 10:00 p.m. - Hardeeville Officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a silver Volvo s80 on Highway 17 around the 278 intersection in Hardeeville.  The vehicle headed North towards Ridgeland at high speeds until Hardeeville Officers ultimately discontinued the pursuit.  Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Deputies standing by at the exit 18 area soon after spotted the vehicle coming into the Ridgeland town limits at which time a traffic stop was initiated at the Sisters Ferry Road intersection.  Driver Adrian Jacqua Dupont, 27 of Ridgeland, was placed under arrest by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana as well as being in violation of his SC beginner's permit as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 11:37 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music from a neighboring residence.

JANUARY 5, 2015

.

  • 3:03 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the former Owens Building Supply Store at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

.

  • 6:32 a.m. - A disabled dump truck blocked traffic on Bees Creek Road at the Forrest Drive intersection for a short period of time until the owner was able to remove it from the roadway.

.

  • 8:00 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Spay & Neuter Animal Clinic at 21 Getsinger Street.

.

  • 8:04 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street.

.

  • 11:28 a.m. - A bottle of prescription medication was reported stolen from a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

.

  • 12:25 p.m. - A call was received from a citizen in Colorado Springs, CO in reference to a Bank of America Visa card being accidentally left at the Wendys Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road in Ridgeland on December 21, 2014.  The card was then fraudulently used by an unknown person to make numerous purchases at different businesses in Bluffton on December 22nd and 23rd.  Surveillance video is being sought for suspect identification and pending charges.

  • 1:10 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

  • 4:23 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on South Logan Street.

.

  • 4:33 p.m. - A male subject was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  The subject was spotted in the parking lot of the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street where he was warned that asking for money is in violation of a Ridgeland town ordinance.

JANUARY 4, 2015

.

  • 12:27 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.

.

  • 10:11 a.m. - A Chevrolet van and a Honda Accord were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.  No injuries were reported.

.

  • 11:08 a.m. - A 911 call was received from a motorist at the intersection of Bees Creek and Busy Bee Road in reference to the caller being followed by another vehicle.

.

  • 11:13 a.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Days Inn Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after an argument erupted between two tenants and Management.  The subjects left the area without further incident at Management's request.

.

  • 12:38 p.m. - An incident was reported at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a staff member being assaulted by inmate Bonnie Tomas who had thrown a pair of glasses at the Officer during the booking process after being arrested by Hardeeville Officers under a driving under the influence and open container charge on January 3rd around 6:00 p.m.  A warrant was then issued and served by the Ridgeland Police Department charging her with assault & battery.

  • 4:29 p.m. - A property damage report was filed by a motorist in reference to a vehicle tire being damaged by an unknown person at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

  • 7:42 p.m. - A 32" Samsung television was stolen during a burglary at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street sometime between January 1st and today's date.

.

  • 9:20 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a subject at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to two subjects following him making accusations of theft.

JANUARY 3, 2015

.

  • 2:44 a.m. - A silver Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where driver Ndidiamaka Anum was found to be operating under a suspended California driver's license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

  • 12:04 p.m. - A parked vehicle partially obstructing the roadway was reported on Main Street.

.

  • 12:44 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported at the intersection of Smiths Crossing and Highway 17 in reference to a black vehicle bearing New York tags nearly colliding with the caller's vehicle head on.

.

  • 3:44 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a tractor trailer being parked beside the business for the past 2 days.

.

  • 6:19 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

.

  • 8:25 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a subject repeatedly coming to the residence and knocking on the door during the night.

.

  • 9:07 p.m. - Officers responded to a burglary of a residence on North Green Street where there were no signs of forced entry and numerous personal items belonging to the victims were found to be scattered about the residence but no items were reported missing.  A call was received from friends of the homeowner approximately 1 hour later advising that the event had been a staged prank.

.

  • 9:21 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive where a male party allegedly made threats against the caller's life to her children.

.

  • 9:26 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Second Avenue after a male subject damaged several household items while under the influence of narcotics.

.

  • 10:24 p.m. - A wallet was stolen from inside of a suitcase at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  It was soon after discovered in a laundry basket inside of the residence where it was found to be missing an undisclosed amount of currency.

.

  • 11:47 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Newlin Drive in reference to a barking dog at a neighboring residence being left tied up outside for the past 2 nights.

.

  • 11:54 p.m. - A disturbance was reported by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to possible gunshots being fired among a group of juveniles in the parking lot.

JANUARY 2, 2015

.

  • 3:48 a.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a female subject knocking on the residence door refusing to leave.

.

  • 6:08 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted on a dialysis patient at a residence on North Green Street.

.

  • 11:56 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

.

  • 3:42 p.m. - A domestic dispute between two sisters was reported at Baytree Apartments.

.

  • 4:22 p.m. - A male subject was found lying on the ground at the corner of East Main and South Logan Street.  EMS Personnel responded and transported the patient to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

.

  • 4:23 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

.

  • 5:51 p.m. - A red Ford Flex and a white Ford Edge were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

.

  • 6:16 p.m. - A white iPhone 6 was reported missing from the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street after being accidentally left in the ladies room at approximately 5:30 p.m.

.

  • 6:27 p.m. - A white Toyota Camry was stopped for a failure to yield right of way violation as it turned onto East Wilson Street from North Jacob Smart Boulevard where passenger Jerrod Spann, 37 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol and passenger Jessica Crosby, 23 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana which she attempted to conceal from Officers. Jerrod Spann was cited for the offense and assigned a court date as Jessica Crosby was placed under arrest.  A third passenger provided Officers with a fictitious name in an attempt to conceal his identity but was soon after positively identified as Henry Spann who was placed under arrest due to being listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Driver David Jowanna, 24 of Early Branch, was cited for the failure to yield violation before leaving the area with Jerrod Spann as Jessica Crosby and Henry Spann were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Henry Spann's charges stemmed from a December 8, 2014 larceny of a cell phone incident at a residence on North Logan Street.

  • 8:11 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to a residence on Vigil Road where Jasper County Deputies responding to a call discovered one of the persons on scene, Lee Brack Jr., to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center for warrant service.  Brack's charges stemmed from an April 7, 2012 traffic stop at the intersection of East Wilson Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested and charged with failure to yield right of way and no driver's license 2nd offense.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on April 30, 2012 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

  • 8:18 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

.

  • 11:25 p.m. - An open door was discovered at the Department of Social Services Office at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard. Officers conducted a walk thru and cleared the building prior to securing the door.

JANUARY 1, 2015

.

  • 1:04 a.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Boyd Street in reference to music coming from a residence on Sunset Circle.

.

  • 3:14 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted on a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

.

  • 4:49 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

.

  • 9:01 a.m. - A silver Honda Civic was stopped for speeding on Grays Highway at the Green Street intersection where driver Jordan Dupant was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina beginner's permit stemming from unpaid traffic tickets.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was turned over to a licensed passenger with Dupant's permission.

  • 3:20 p.m. - A subject was reportedly attempting to assault a male complainant at a residence on Malphrus Street.  The alleged victim did not wish to pursue charges as the suspect left prior to Police arrival.

.

  • 3:39 p.m. - A group of juveniles was spotted playing on the railroad tracks around Third Avenue.  The subjects were requested to leave the area.

.

  • 5:19 p.m. - A complaint was filed at a residence on Allen Drive after a male reportedly threatened to shoot the caller and hit his wife.  The complainant was found to be uncooperative with the responding Officer and did not wish to pursue charges against the suspect.

.

  • 6:37 p.m.- A black Nissan Maxima was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North just before exit 22.  One occupant was treated on scene by EMS Personnel.

.

  • 11:27 p.m. - A complaint was received in reference to fireworks being ignited in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.
