NOVEMBER 25, 2014

 

Officers responded to a report of a subject asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Shell Station at 8309 East Main Street where Gary Shumpert was found to be intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A Buick LeSabre and a Dodge Journey were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

Four suspicious persons were reported at the Goodwill Store at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a 16 year old male became combative with his mother and his 16 year old girlfriend who is pregnant with his child.  While speaking with the parties involved the male became increasingly argumentive and unccoperative with the Officer and ultimately fled out of the apartment running behind the building.  He returned a short time later sneaking back inside of the residence through a rear window and attempting to hide underneath a shower curtain.  After being determined to be under the influence of narcotics EMS Personnel were requested to the scene and the male was ultimately transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis.  Neither of the two victims wished to pursue charges against him.

 

A red Chevy 1500 pickup became stuck in an area of mud on the side of the roadway at the intersection of West Main Street and Carters Mill Road.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

 

A noise complaint was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to subjects smoking in the breezeway of one of the complex buildings.

 

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on East Main Street after a 911 hang up call was received at Emergency Services.

 

 

NOVEMBER 24, 2014

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the H&H Furniture Store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence on Bees Creek Road where a slender black male was witnessed committing a burglary after kicking in a back door and stealing numerous items.  This case is under investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

A Jeep Wrangler and a Ford Fusion were involved in a collision on I-95 North.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A suspicious person with a history of mental health issues was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Jasper County Clerk of Court's Office at 265 Russell Street in reference to an alleged fraudulent child support claim.

 

A GMC Envoy was involved in a single vehicle collision on Smiths Crossing around the Sisters Ferry Road intersection when the driver lost control and left the roadway becoming stuck in a roadside drainage ditch.  No injuries were reported.

 

Diamond Mervin turned herself in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department at 1 Town Square in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her stemming from a November 23rd harassment report on Wise Street.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

 

NOVEMBER 23, 2014

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Levon Habersham Jr., 27 of Ridgeland SC, for the offense of criminal domestic violence.

An disturbance was reported between two tenants at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive stemming from a civil dispute regarding money owed to an employee.

 

A Chrysler 200 was struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene at the intersection of Henry Lawton and Grahamville Road.  A 12 year old female was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

A suspicious black male was reported at a residence at Devonwood Apartments at 137 Captain Bill Road.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Wise Street in reference to unwanted Facebook messages.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Diamond Dalphine Mervin, 26 of Ridgeland SC, for the offense of harassment 2nd degree.

NOVEMBER 22, 2014

 

A Volkswagen SUV was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Patrick Robinson was found to be operating under a suspended Wisconsin driver's license as well as being in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A report was filed by a social worker with the Hilton Head Hospital in reference to twins born on today's date to a resident of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in Ridgeland testing positive for illegal narcotics.

 

A gray Chevy Equinox was stopped for an equipment violation in the parking lot of Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street where driver Kevin Francis was found to be in possession of a loaded Springfield 9mm handgun which was stolen from a residence on Cat Branch Road during an October 1, 2014 burglary.  Francis was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where, during the booking process, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana resulting in an additional charge.  The vehicle was left legally parked on scene at Woodridge Apartments.

 

A Ford Taurus and a Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A tan Ford Ranger was stopped for moving and equipment violations on West Main Street around the Floyd Street intersection where driver Charles Lowther was found to be operating under the influence as well as having an open container of beer in his possession.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A Nissan Maxima and a Saturn Sc1 were involved in a collision in front of the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A property damage report was filed by a tenant at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street after a large stone was thrown through a window at approximately 11:30 pm.  A suspect was soon identified by photograph; however management refused to pursue charges or file a trespass notice.

 

 

NOVEMBER 21, 2014

 

A gray Nissan Maxima was found stopped in the middle of the roadway on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where driver Duane Bentley Jr., 17 of Hardeeville, was found to be operating under a South Carolina beginner's permit without a licensed driver in the vehicle as well as being in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for both offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

A harassment report was filed at a residence on Captain Bill Road in reference to unwanted text messages from the complainant's step son's biological mother.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A Toyota Camry and a Dodge Ram pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter at a residence on East Wilson Street which allegedly turned physical following an argument.  The complainant left the area prior to the Officer's arrival.  No charges were filed at the victim's request.

 

Two suspicious white males were reported in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

 

Larry Seabrook Malphrus III was placed under arrest by the Hardeeville Police Department under a malicious injury to property charge and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was served an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department in refernece to an October 29, 2014 restraining order violation.

 

Officers responded to two separate activated alarms at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

 

A Tiffin Motorhome towing a Honda SUV was involved in a single vehicle collision when it sideswiped a concrete barrier by the fuel pumps at the Handy Dans Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.  The vehicle was then driven to the Boat & RV Store at 401 Sycamore Drive where the motorhome damage was repaired.  The owner then failed to put the Honda being towed in neutral when leaving the Boat & RV Store causing damage to the tires after it was dragged to Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

   

 

A disturbance was reported by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a male and female arguing in the parking lot.

 

A harassment report was filed by a complainant in reference to unwanted telephone calls from an inmate at the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.

 

 

NOVEMBER 20, 2014

 

A black Nissan Maxima was stopped for speeding on Highway 462 at the Zion Oak Church where driver Dwayne Smith Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with one previous conviction for driving under suspension on his record.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as vehicle passenger Chaner Doe, 24 of Allendale SC, was cited after being found in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  The vehicle was released to a licensed driver with Smith's permission.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Green Storage Facility at 261 South Green Street in reference to dispursment of marital property.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the area of Wiley Street.

 

A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Tarboro Road in reference to nighttime operations being conducted at the Lowcountry Biomass Plant at 523 Nimmer Turf Road.

 

A black Chevy Equinox was stopped for speeding on Highway 462 at the Zion Oak Church where driver Adriana Ginn was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from a previous DUI conviction as well as being listed as a wanted person by the South Carolina Highway Patrol in reference to a previous open container charge.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was filed at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

 

A juvenile was reported missing by a foster parent in Hampton County after failing to arrive at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway after school.  The child was soon after located unharmed.

 

Officers responded to two separate activated alarms at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and another at a residence on McTeer Avenue.

 

 

NOVEMBER 19, 2014

 

A white Honda Accord LX was reported stolen from a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community at approximately 12:30 am.

 

A Chevy S10 and a Ford F150 were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the KFC Restaurant at 8146 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

South Carolina tag number GXA-238 was stolen off of a 2014 Honda Accord in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A report of gunshots was filed at a residence on Bees Creek Road.

 

A property damage report was filed at a residence on Second Avenue in reference to a damaged section of fencing.

 

A Chevy Uplander and a Kenworth logging truck were involved in a collision in front of the Outpost Clothing Store at 10545 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Two occupants from the Uplander were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

A gray Mazda 6 was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South striking the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

 

An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a 16 year old male arguing with his parent.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road and Sauls Funeral Home at 310 West Adams Street.

 

 

NOVEMBER 18, 2014

 

Patrol Officers spotted Tommy Lavor Williams, 50 of Ridgeland, at the intersection of East Woodlawn Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest and turned over to the custody of Jasper County Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of criminal domestic violence.  Williams was listed as a wanted person by the Sheriff's Office stemming from a November 16, 2014 domestic dispute at a residence on Orange Grove Road in the Mitchellville area.

A report of illegal drug activity was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center where a hold had been placed on inmate Michael Byrd in reference to outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department in addition to being listed as a wanted person by the Georgia Department of Probation and Parole in reference to a probation violation.  Byrd's charges stemmed from a September 2, 2014 forgery incident at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

NOVEMBER 17, 2014

 

A Nissan Sentra and a Honda Accord were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Jaquade Outten turned himself in at the Ridgeland Police Department at 1 Town Square in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him following a November 10th domestic dispute at Heron Crossing Apartments at  313 Heron Crossing Drive.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was filed at the Siesta Motel in reference to a black male on the property attempting to sell narcotics.

 

A civil dispute was reported at Eric's Garage at 11115 North Jacob Smart Boulevard regarding tools allegedly left at the business.

 

Timothy Patrick Malphrus Jr., 37 of Ridgeland SC, was placed under arrest at his residence on Second Avenue and turned over to the custody of Jasper County Deputies in reference to two outstanding warrants issued against him stemming from a November 16th domestic dispute at a residence on Airport Road.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of trespassing after notice and assault & battery 3rd.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Gretsch Drum Factory at 248 Grays Highway.

 

 

NOVEMBER 16, 2014

 

A disturbance was reported at the Handy Dans Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where a black female driving a white Jaguar sedan became irate and argumentive towards the clerk after being asked for identification when using a credit/debit card to pay for her purchases.  The suspect threw the bag of items at the clerk striking her in the face before leaving the store as Officers were dispatched.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

A dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates community in reference to Facebook posts.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the South State Bank drive up ATM machine at 10625 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a disagreement between an employee and management.

 

A white male driving a white van with Virginia tags was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

 

NOVEMBER 15, 2014

 

A gold Lincoln Towncar was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Ted Varnes was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license in addition to having no registration or proof of valid insurance coverage in his possession.  Further investigation revealed that the tag displayed on the vehicle was registered to a Mazda passenger car.  Varnes was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Jaudon Street after three 911 hang up calls were received.

 

A Peterbilt semi was reportedly sideswiped by a small black SUV while traveling South on I-95 around the 17 mile marker.  The SUV continued traveling without reporting the collision.

 

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 911 hang up call was received.

 

A disturbance was reported at a residence on Hagin Drive in reference to two neighbors arguing over a noise dispute..

 

A black Ford Taurus was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where passenger Christopher Muffett was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana as well as an open container of alcohol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as driver Aaron LaCroix was cited for the speeding violation before leaving the area.

 

 

NOVEMBER 14, 2014

 

A black Chevy Malibu was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Travis Haynes, 37 of Akron IN, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and hashish.  He was cited for the three offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

A 15 year old female was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after suffering a seizure stemming from illegal narcotics reportedly supplied to her by a family member left in charge of her.

 

A Honda Odyssey and a Hyundai Sonata were involved in a collision on Grays Highway at the Malphrus Road intersection.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Kyshon Jenkins was spotted by Patrol Officers at the Goodwill Store at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Jenkins' charges stemmed from a February 11, 2014 larceny at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive where he was arrested and charged after being captured on surveillance video stealing items from a tenant's vehicle.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on June 30th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

Three black males in a gray pickup with a red stripe down the center and purple tinted windows reportedly stopped at a residence on West Smith Street and attempted to steal items from the yard.

 

Two suspicious vehicles were reported at the El Cheapo Station at 11033 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A black Mercedes was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver John Anthony Wilson, 54 of Fort Pierce FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the two offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

 

NOVEMBER 13, 2014

 

A black Apple iPad was reportedly stolen from the dining room area of the McDonalds restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road sometime between 10:00 and 11:30 am on Monday November 10th.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

A suspicious person was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

 

A loitering complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to numerous males standing around in the parking lot area.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a resident on Wall Street in reference to unwanted Facebook messages.

 

A trespassing complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a male subject who was not supposed to be on the property.

 

A domestic dispute between a male and female customer was reported at the Burger King restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.

 

 

NOVEMBER 12, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a hold had been placed on inmate Wenson Smith in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was served two warrants stemming from an October 3, 2014 domestic dispute at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Magistrates Office at 967 West Adam Street

 

A loud music complaint was filed by a residence on Ike Street in reference to the Patrician Acres area.

 

Four suspicious males were reported on Owens Street.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Sheriff's Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute at a residence on Mitchellville Road after gunshots were heard coming from the residence as the victim left the scene.  Rashad Battiste, 33 of Ridgeland, was ultimately placed under arrest by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of criminal domestic violence.

A black male was captured on surveillance video stealing store items from the Handy Dans Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  The collected footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Family Dollar store at 73 South Green Street.

 

A suspicious bag was left in front of a door at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive which was found to be related to a November 10th domestic dispute.

 

Officeres responded to a child custody dispute at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.

 

 

NOVEMBER 11, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a shooting incident at a residence on Captain Bill Road where Anthony Jarvis King Jr., 24 of Ridgeland SC, was found deceased from numerous gunshot wounds in the front passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the driveway.  This case is under investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

A burglary was reported at a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community after an undisclosed amount of cash was discovered missing from the victim's bedroom. 

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Green Street Storage facility at 261 South Green Street.

 

A complaint was filed on Hagin Drive in reference to a residence with three dogs tied in the backyard not being fed or cared for.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to an assault between a father and daughter where one of the parties involved, Donnell Morris, 49 of Ridgeland SC, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to a warrant issued against him in 2007 charging him with receiving stolen property.  Neither party wished to pursue charges in reference to the domestic dispute as Morris was placed under arrest by Jasper County Deputies for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Aussie Autobody Shop at 1010 West Adams Street.

 

A report of possible gunshots was filed at a residence on Forest Drive in reference to the basketball court area on Old Logan Street.

 

A report of 4 wheeler ATV's being driven on the roadway was filed in reference to the area of Smiths Crossing and Mitchellville Road.

 

David Cadieu was placed under arrest at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him stemming from a November 10th harassment complaint.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

 

NOVEMBER 10, 2014

 

A purse was stolen from a shopping cart at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street and shortly after recovered by the victim's son who had followed the person he believed to have stolen the item as he walked from the Dollar General to the Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  An unidisclosed amount of cash was reportedly stolen from the wallet prior to it's recovery.  While reviewing Dollar General surveillance video of the incident, Officers observed footage of suspect Edward Dwayne Garvin stealing store items and concealing them inside of a shopping bag.  Garvin was soon after located in the parking lot of the Goodwill Store at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a felony property crime enhancement charge stemming from his numerous previous larceny convictions.

 

A red Toyota Corolla registered to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was reportedly damaged at a residence on North Green Street sometime between 11:00 pm November 8th and 11:30 am November 9th.

 

A Peterbilt tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision with a deer in the roadway on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

Wanda Mayes was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Municipal Courtroom after being sentenced to 70 days in reference to an October 26, 2014 traffic stop on I-95 North where she was arrested and charged with failure to yield to emergency vehicle, driving under suspension & no proof of insurance.

 

A warrant was issued against David Emanuel Cadieu, 31 of Ridgeland, after a report was filed by a resident on Live Oak Farm Road concerning threatening telephone calls.

Edward Hilderbran was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Municipal Courtroom after being sentenced to 30 days following a rule to show cause hearing.  Hilderbran's charges stemmed from a June 30, 2014 traffic stop on I-95 North where he was placed under arrest and charged with driving under suspension as well as an outstanding warrant.  He was then found guilty of the charges on August 4th and sentenced to a term of community service which he failed to comply with.

 

A property damage report was filed at the Boat & RV Store at 401 Sycamore Drive after a RV window was found to have been maliciously broken out.

 

A Jeep Cherokee and a Lexus sedan were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A 15 year old and 8 year old were witnessed breaking the passenger windows and front windshield out of a red Ford Ranger parked at a residence on the corner of Wilson and North Logan Street.  The father of the 2 suspects agreed to settle the matter civilly with the owner of the vehicle.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on South Green Street.

 

Nathaniel Burrison, 54 of Ridgeland, was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville after being found grossly intoxicated and passed out on in the roadway on West Main Street.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a male and female at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive where Jaquade Shamarrow Outten, 19 of Ridgeland, reportedly struck the female victim in the face during a dispute over text messages.  Outten fled the area on foot running towards Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue when he learned Officers were en route.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Outten charging him with criminal domestic violence.

Shakeemiah Frost was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland Municipal Courtroom after being sentenced to 30 days following a rule to show cause hearing.  Frost's charges stemmed from an August 20, 2014 traffic stop on West Main Street at the Sisters Ferry Road intersection where she was cited under the charge of providing false information to Police concerning a fugitive passenger inside of the vehicle.  She was then found guilty of the charges on September 29th and sentenced to a term of community service which she failed to comply with.

 

A Kia Soul and a Honda Accord were involved in a collision at the intersection of East Main and Logan Street. No injuries were reported.

   

 

A dog bite incident was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a female was allegedly bitten on the leg by a pit bull puppy from a neighboring residence.  The victim declined medical treatment and DHEC was notified of the incident.

 

 

NOVEMBER 9, 2014

 

A green Honda Accord was stopped for numerous moving violations on I-95 South around the 16 mile marker where driver Thomas Campbell was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as being possession of an open container of beer.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Three couterfeit $20 bills were seized from the front desk register at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street after being discovered by Management while reviewing surveillance video.

 

A property damage report was filed at a residence on North Green Street in reference to a large stone thrown through the rear window of the victim's vehicle sometime during the overnight hours.

 

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in the rear parking lot of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a subject was spotted breaking into an unoccupied vehicle.  Devin Emmanuel Salley, 19 of Saint Helena SC, was placed under arrest by Deputies at the scene and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of theft from a motor vehicle and providing false information to Police which stemmed from a fictitious name he initially provided in an attempt to conceal his identity.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the driver was spotted leaving the property with a small child sitting on her lap.

 

A Hyundai Elantra and a Ford Escape both struck a large piece of tire debris in the roadway on I-95 South just below the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

A fight involving juveniles, one of which was armed with a knife, was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

 

NOVEMBER 8, 2014

 

Several power and hand tools were reported stolen from a tenant's room at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  The suspect reportedly entered the room through an unlocked window.

 

A Chevy Silverado and a Toyota Prius were involved in a collision on Owens Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Several gunshots were reported by a resident on Wood Duck Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

 

NOVEMBER 7, 2014

 

A commitment order was issued at the Jasper County Probate Office in reference to a female resident at Heron Crossing Apartments who was reportedly no longer able to care for herself. Officers transported the subject to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis pending transport to the Three Rivers Facility in Charleston.

 

An intoxicated driver was reported at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responding to a single vehicle collision involving a black Chevy pickup on Grays Highway at the Oak Plantation Commons intersection discovered driver James Swinton under the influence of alcohol as well as in possession of an open container of alcohol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A complaint was filed by a Brandon Cove resident in the North Ridge Community in reference to stray dogs roaming throughout the neighborhood.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies responding to a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a residence on Fordville Road.  Suspect Jeremiah Wilson, 32 of Ridgeland, fled the area prior to Officers arrival but was located a short time later and placed under arrest by Deputies under the charges of criminal domestic violence and malicious injury to property. He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Badgett Law Offices at 600 Third Avenue.

 

A Ford Explorer and a Chevy work truck were involved in a collision on Glover Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A commitment order was issued at the Jasper County Probate Office in reference to a male resident on Live Oak Farm Road after information was received from a concerned relative that he may wish to do harm upon himself or others. Officers transported the subject to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis pending transport to the Three Rivers Facility in Charleston.

 

A Ford F150 pickup and a Nissan Altima were involved in a collision on Grays Highway at the Russell Street interseection.  One occupant was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

     

 

 

NOVEMBER 6, 2014

 

A silver Chevy Impala was stopped for an equipment violation in the parking lot of the Bobops Station at 8485 Grahamville Road where driver Jessica Prioleau-Cooper was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license and passenger Tauris Maymi was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana with numerous plastic baggies and a digital scale.  Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle. Tauris Maymi is currently out on bond after an October 12th incident at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was arrested and charged after being found in possession of a stolen handgun.

 

Two suspicious white males were reported behind the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.

 

A gray Mazda Tribute was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 462 near the Salzburg Landing intersection with no injuries reported.  The vehicle was towed from the area by Little T's Towing.

   

 

Dominique Strobert turned himself in to Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department at 1 Town Square in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him.  Strobert's charges stemmed from a May 23, 2014 traffic stop on Highway 17 where he was arrested and charged after being found in possession of an open container of alcohol.  He then failed to appear in court to answer to the charges and was found guilty at a trial in his absence on June 30th resulting in two warrants being issued for his arrest.

 

A Stihl chainsaw and a Lincoln jack were reported stolen from a residence on North Green Street sometime between 6 pm on November 5th and 9 am November 6th.

 

Two Hispanic males were reportedly attempting to break into a residence on Hagin Drive.

 

A silver Chevy Impala was stopped for a signal violation and defective equipment at the intersection of Wilson and North Green Streets where driver Deshone Allen was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  Further investigation revealed Allen to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from a September 23, 2014 traffic stop on East Adams Street where he was cited for driving without a license.  He then failed to appear in court to answer to the charges and was found guilty at a trial in his absence on October 6th resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

A 13 year old male was reportedly struck in the face by another juvenile male at the Ridgeland High School soccer field at 250 Jaguar Trail.

 

A Toyota Sequoia and a Lincoln Continental were involved in a collision in the drive thru area of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A juvenile petition was filed against a 15 year old male at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after he refused to obey curfew or attend school.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies responding to a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a residence on Nettles Road.

 

Alexis Deason was placed under arrest at the Ridgeland Police Department in connection with a bond revocation stemming from her failure to comply with the conditions of bond set forth after her October 20th larceny arrest which resulted in an additional charge of possession of crack cocaine. She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the bond violation charge as well as two warrant affidavits filed against her after it was revealed that she fabricated an October 12, 2014 armed robbery report while employed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.

 

 

NOVEMBER 5, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Lexington County Detention Center where a hold had been placed on inmate Jermain Leon Thompson in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Thompson's charges stemmed from a March 24, 2014 traffic stop on I-95 where he was cited for speeding and no driver's license.  He then failed to appear in court to answer to the charges on April 21st and was found guilty in his absence resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

An open door was discovered on a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.  No items were reported missing and no foul play is suspected.

 

Two suspicious males were reported at a residence on First Avenue.

 

Nathaniel Burrison, 54 of Ridgeland, was found grossly intoxicated lying in the roadway on Smiths Crossing at the intersection of Sisters Ferry Road.  He was transported by EMS Personnel to the Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

Courtney Pryor turned herself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against her stemming from a September 10th domestic dispute at Ridge Point Apartments at 109 South Green Street.

 

A suspicious person was reportedly causing a disturbance in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartrments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

Officers responded to Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after receiving reports that several juveniles were left in charge of an 18 month old female who had accidentally fallen from the park zip line.  EMS Personnel were dispatched to the scene after the child appeared to be falling asleep immediately after the fall.  The mother arrived on scene and took custody of the child after being cleared by EMS.

 

A possible assault on a 3 year old female was reported by a parent at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in reference to an incident that occurred at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

 

 

NOVEMBER 4, 2014

 

Billy Phillips was transported from the Federal Correctional Insitution in Estill to the Jasper County Detention Center after completing a Federal probation violation sentence.  He was remanded to the custody of Jasper County Detention Center staff under the charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection with the May 18, 2013 murder of Darius Woods at a residence on East Adams Street.

 

A possible domestic dispute was reported at the Center Court Sportswear Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Wise Street where Gairy Dale Sievright, 48 of Beaufort SC, was placed on trespass notice for the property.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Bennett Law Offices at 108 Third Avenue and the All Childrens Pediatrics Office at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Patrol Officers discovered an open door at a residence on East Wilson Street. No items were reported missing and there were no signs of forced entry.  The home was secured after being searched.

 

A business sign was reportedly damaged in the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

A 14 year old male juvenile reportedly gave a cigarette to a 6 year old female at a residence on Hagin Drive.  The male was placed on trespass notice for the property.

 

 

NOVEMBER 3, 2014

 

A blue passenger car was stopped for a signal violation at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where the front seat passenger, James Orr, immediately fled from the vehicle on foot running towards Great Swamp Road. A Police K9 tracked Orr to the front door of a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive where he was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being discovered in a bedroom.  Orr's charges stemmed from a June 8, 2014 traffic stop at the intersection of North Green Street and Third Avenue where he led Officers on a pursuit which ended with him fleeing from the vehicle on foot after striking an unoccupied Jeep Grand Cherokee in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments.

 

A counterfeit $10 bill was turned over to Ridgeland Officers after being received as change at the Wendy's Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road one day prior.  The bill is set to be turned over to the US Secret Service.

 

A charity fundraiser jar containing an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the front counter of the Bobops Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.  The incident occurred on Saturday November 1st at approximately 4:00 pm but wasn't discovered until the owner of the jar came inside the store on Monday afternoon.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

A Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Honda Civic were involved in a collision in front of the Regions Bank branch at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Four occupants were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

 

A harasssment complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to unwanted telephone calls from a female acquaintance regarding an ongoing dispute.

 

 

NOVEMBER 2, 2014

 

Rashad Perry was ordered to leave the property of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard by Jasper County Deputies after causing a disturbance among patrons and club employees.  Approximately 1 hour later Ridgeland Officers observed him looking inside of several vehicles in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street and then entering the business where he reportedly began cursing and threatening several customers.  He then exited and got inside of a vehicle without permission of the owner and was asked to exit without incident.  Perry was found to be grossly intoxicated and was allowed to contact a friend to come pick him up to take him home.  While waiting for his ride Perry stood in front of the doorway of the business blocking the exit and making derogatory remarks to customers as they passed.  After three separate instances of ignoring orders to cease the behavior Perry was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A white Honda Accord station wagon was stopped in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after the vehicle was identified as possibly being involved in a shooting incident on Forest Avenue being investigated by Jasper County Deputies.

 

An employee of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive was reportedly stuck with a discarded syringe while cleaning a guest room.

 

A black Chevy Silverado was stopped on West Main Street at the Green Street intersection after 911 calls were received in reference to the vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph on I-95 North.  The driver of the vehicle, Eudozio Salinas, was found to be operating without a driver's license or valid insurance coverage as well as displaying a Georgia temporary tag which was registered to a Mercury passenger car.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A child was reportedly left alone inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, a residence on Oak Plantation Drive, the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street and the Badgett Law Offices at 600 Third Avenue.

 

 

NOVEMBER 1, 2014

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a tenant's room at the Carolina Lodge at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a male subject attempting to force his way inside during an argument.  Upon arrival suspect Terry Defibaugh was spotted attempting to flee the scene in a gray Ford Mustang after being told that Officers were en route.  A traffic stop was initiated on the Mustang where Defibaugh was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as in possession of an open container of liquor resulting in him being placed under arrest.  The domestic dispute reportedly originated during an argument at Ned's Pub & Grub at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard which turned physical in the parking lot and escalated upon arrival at the Carolina Lodge.  Defibaugh was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A property damage report was filed at the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission at 1352 Carters Mill Road after a section of fencing by the wood line at the rear of the property was cut and a window pane was broken by the front entry door.  No items were reported missing.

 

A suspicious white male was reported in a wooded area off of Wiley Street.

 

A domestic dispute between a mother and step son was reported in the area of Baytree Apartments on First Avenue. Responding Officers discovered a silver Chevy Aveo in the roadway occupied by one of the parties involved who stated that she had traveled to the area to pick up her step son who was intoxicated and argumentive about returning home.  She stated that at one point he grabbed a section of fencing in front of a First Avenue residence as she attempted to get him into the vehicle resulting in the fence sustaining damage.  When the homeowner came outside and stated that Police were en route the male got inside of the vehicle and allowed his mother to take him home. Officers attempts to make contact with the homeowner in regards to the fence were met with negative contact.

 

Josue Acosta was placed under arrest at his residence on East Adams Street in reference to an October 31st assault on a child at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street, the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 10616 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Badgett Law Office at 600 Third Avenue and a residence on North Railroad Avenue.
