APRIL 25, 2015

 

  • 2:44 a.m. - A domestic dispute between a male and female was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a black male was witnessed choking a female and pushing her to the ground.  Neither subject was located upon arrival and no victims came forward to report the assault.

 

  • 4:19 a.m. - Officers responded to the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup parked in the lane of travel where an intoxicated 16 year old male was discovered asleep behind the wheel.  The scene was ultimately turned over to South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers responding from the Callawassie area.

 

  • 6:02 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

 

  • 6:39 a.m. - A domestic dispute between a husband and wife was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after the female allegedly forced entry and assaulted the male by striking him with a pipe before throwing his personal items onto the ground outside.  The male subject declined medical treatment and stated that the wound to his head was not the result of being assaulted.

 

  • 8:02 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

 

  • 9:43 a.m. - Two male subjects were reportedly smoking marijuana in front of a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

  • 9:56 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at Advantage Vending at 305 Lowcountry Drive.

 

  • 11:03 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

 

  • 11:18 a.m. - A complaint was filed at Pam's Barber Shop at 716 West Adams Street in reference to Management requesting a white male be placed on trespass notice for the property.  The subject left the area of his own accord prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

 

  • 11:42 a.m. - Breanna Quanisha Marable was placed under arrest at her job at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Marable's charges stemmed from an August 29, 2014 incident at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street where, while employed as a cashier, she was captured on surveillance video allowing customers to leave the business without paying for items on numerous occasions.

 

  • 11:50 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

 

  • 12:20 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North in reference to a blue tractor trailer cutting off other motorists around the 22 mile marker.

 

  • 12:36 p.m. - An iPhone reported stolen to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office from a vehicle at a residence on Grove Park Lane was tracked to a room at the Travelodge Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  A consensual search of the room by the tenant revealed no evidence of stolen property.

 

  • 4:54 p.m. - Officers responded to The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a possible assault between two females.  Once on scene the complainant reported that a friend of her's had stolen her cell phone at the Ridgeland Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store and taken it to The Palms where she was ultimately confronted about it resulting in a verbal altercation.  The suspect then returned the phone but failed to return the SD card at which time Law Enforcement was notified.  Once Officers arrived on scene the suspect returned the SD card without further incident as the complainant declined pursuing any charges in the matter.

 

  • 8:00 p.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to several subjects standing around behind one of the complex buildings.

 

 

APRIL 24, 2015

 

  • 2:18 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after Club Security discovered Kenneth Eric Black Jr., 26 of Saint Helena Island SC, attempting to enter the club with a loaded Bryco Arms 380 caliber handgun.  Further investigation revealed him to also be in possession of a quantity of marijuana at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

  • 5:04 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on North Green Street in reference to an unoccupied silver Toyota with an open door.

 

  • 9:43 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South in reference to the driver of a silver Volkswagen texting while behind the wheel around the 33 mile marker.

 

  • 1:45 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North in reference to a black BMW cutting off other motorists and traveling at a high rate of speed around the 22 mile marker.

 

  • 2:10 p.m. - Officers responded to a residence on East Main Street where a representative for SCE&G had traced an electric current being used illegally in reference to the power meter being taken from a vacant residence and used at an occupied residence next door.

 

  • 4:26 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South in reference to a silver tractor trailer drifting in and out of the lane of travel around the 22 mile marker.

 

  • 7:11 p.m. - A possible trespassing complaint was filed by a property owner on East Frontage Road after a gate bordering the property was found open.

 

  • 7:14 p.m. - A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after Management caught Angel Romellia Jenkins stealing items by concealing them in her purse.  When approached, she returned the items to Management before turning and fleeing from the area on foot running towards the rear of the building.  Jenkins was soon after spotted by Patrol Officers at the intersection of Floyd Street and Second Avenue where she was placed under arrest without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 8:58 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

APRIL 23, 2015

 

  • 12:07 a.m. - A black Nissan Maxima was involved in a single vehicle collision on West Main Street at the Carters Mill Road intersection after the driver lost control and left the right side of the roadway.  Investigation of the collision revealed driver Demetrius Lamar Jenkins to be operating while under the influence of alcohol at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 11:24 a.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street in reference to a dispute following a Family Court Hearing between the complainant and the estranged father of her child.  An Order of Protection prohibiting the male from any contact was found to be on file since 2011 but has since expired.

 

  • 1:59 p.m. - A male subject was spotted walking on the center median of I-95 around the 21 mile marker.  He left the area after being advised of the laws pertaining to pedestrians on the interstate.

 

  • 2:09 p.m. - An infant was reportedly left alone inside of a black Chevy Impala at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

  • 2:34 p.m. - A blue Ford Explorer was stopped in the parking lot of the Duke's Barbecue Restaurant at 10190 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after being observed illegally towing a silver Audi A4 with Nicholas Fields Jr. behind the wheel.  A check of the information provided showed Fields' drivers license to currently be under a state of suspension and the Audi to have no valid insurance coverage.  Fields was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the Audi was left secured in the parking lot with Management's permission.  The driver of the Explorer, Deborah Z. West, 50 of Ridgeland, was cited for allowing operating of an uninsured vehicle before leaving the area.

 

  • 4:34 p.m. - A white Lincoln Town Car traveling North on I-95 crossed the center median guard wires into the Southbound lanes around the 22 mile marker where it collided with a blue Infiniti, a silver Toyota Rav4 and a white Ford pickup before coming to a stop in the center median.  Both occupants of the Lincoln were pronounced dead on scene as two occupants from the other vehicles involved were airlifted and three others transported by EMS Personnel to Savannah Memorial Medical Center.

     

 

  • 7:35 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 10:51 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 11:43 p.m. - Officers responded to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a hold had been placed on inmate Bernard Earl Garvin in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Garvin's charges stemmed from a March 4th shoplifting incident at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was captured on surveillance video stealing beer.  Garvin's charge was enhanced to a felony property crime due to previous larceny convictions on his record.

 

 

APRIL 22, 2015

 

  • 8:37 a.m. - A gray Honda Accord and a white Toyota Corolla were involved in a collision on Grays Highway at the Airport Road intersection.  Two children were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

  • 9:27 a.m. - A property damage report was filed at the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a tour bus struck a section of the building while executing a turn in the drive-thru area.

 

  • 10:47 a.m. - A blue and white Ford Mustang was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker where driver Shane Andrew Livingstone was found to be operating under a suspended Pennsylvania driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

 

  • 12:42 p.m. - An assault was reported at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to an unreported incident that occurred on April 21st at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.  The complainant was allegedly dropping off a friend in the parking lot when she was approached by a black female carrying a piece of pipe or possibly a small bat who was making threatening statements.  The complainant then left the area without further incident and did not wish to pursue charges.

 

  • 1:59 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a male subject using the complainant's blue Ford Explorer without permission. While en route, Officers spotted the vehicle pulling into the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where the driver claimed that the complainant knew he was taking the vehicle and was only reporting the incident due to being upset that he refused to purchase cigarettes for her.  The male then turned over the keys to the vehicle which were then taken back to the complainant at the Econo Lodge without further incident.

 

  • 7:47 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted on a female tenant's room at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after reports were received that she may wish to do harm to herself.  The female was not found inside of her room but was shortly after located in the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street where she was ultimately determined to not be a danger to herself or others by responding EMS Personnel.

 

  • 9:00 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

APRIL 21, 2015

 

  • 2:37 a.m. - A disturbance was reported at a residence on North Green Street in reference to a black male subject throwing an unknown item at the complainant.

 

  • 12:11 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on East Wilson Street.

 

  • 3:30 p.m. - Officers responded to an assault at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street after an argument between a 16 year old male and an 18 year old female employee resulted in the male punching her in the face before fleeing the area as Police were called.  The entire incident was captured on surveillance video and a juvenile petition has been filed against the male charging him with assault & battery 3rd.

 

  • 3:45 p.m. - Officers spotted Daniel Cannick Jr. in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Cannick's charges stemmed from a February 16th shoplifting incident at the Piggly Wiggly where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.

 

  • 4:02 p.m. - Dale Roscoe Terry Jr. was stopped on East Wilson Street after Officers spotted him behind the wheel of a black Ford F150 where he was placed under arrest in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Terry's charges stemmed from a March 18th shoplifting incident at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with Terry's permission.

 

  • 6:23 p.m. - An assault was reported at the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail in reference to a 12 year old male student being struck by another male student.

 

  • 7:08 p.m. - Four black males were reportedly drinking alcohol behind the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 9:05 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 9:38 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 10:43 p.m. - A white tractor trailer was reportedly traveling South on I-95 around the 31 mile marker with no tail lights in operation.

 

 

APRIL 20, 2015

 

  • 10:36 a.m. - Jasper County Deputies discovered Derrick Marquell Edwards at a residence on Mulberry Street where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Edwards' charges stemmed from an August 1, 2014 driver safety checkpoint conducted at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Mitchellville Road where he fled from Officers while driving a silver Subaru Legacy leading a pursuit which ended approximately 1 mile before the Highway 462 intersection when he exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area.

 

  • 12:17 p.m. - Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 163 Heron Crossing Drive where, upon arrival, Shakieria Navonna Ruth was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant stemming from an April 12th incident at the same residence.

 

  • 2:18 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 10 mile marker in reference to a gold tractor trailer weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 3:27 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a male and female was reported in the parking lot of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

 

 

APRIL 19, 2015

 

  • 3:20 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 around the 21 mile marker in reference to a black Toyota Corolla.

 

  • 4:58 a.m. - A black Chevy Impala was stopped for speeding at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Patrick Wiltz was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol as well as being in possession of an open container of liquor.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 5:39 a.m. - A dispute was reported at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  All parties involved left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

 

  • 11:27 a.m. - A complaint was filed at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street in reference to a lost identification card.

 

  • 1:41 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken's Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 3:20 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 after a male subject refused to stop sitting on top of the facility machines.

 

  • 3:28 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a domestic dispute between a father and his 21 year old son possibly involving a firearm.  Upon arrival the father was found to have suffered a hit to his left temple during the incident and the son left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

 

  • 4:06 p.m. - A possible intoxicated driver was reported in a white Dodge Ram pickup traveling North on I-95 around the 18 mile marker.

 

  • 4:22 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a father and daughter was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

 

  • 5:05 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 5:59 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Green Street.

 

  • 6:11 p.m. - Two children's bicycles were stolen from a residence on East Wilson Street sometime after 10:00 p.m. on April 18th.  They are described as a pink and blue girl's bike with white tires and a neon green or yellow Next brand BMX style boy's bike.

 

  • 10:17 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

 

 

APRIL 18, 2015

 

  • 1:25 a.m. - A domestic dispute between a 15 year old male and his father was reported at a residence on Promise Way.

 

  • 2:58 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a white tow truck weaving in and out of the lane of travel.

 

  • 4:11 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

  • 11:32 a.m. - A 44 year old female was reported missing from the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard when she failed to return after leaving the residence at 5:00 a.m.  At approximately 2 p.m. she was located at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street where she stated that she had left the residence with no intentions of returning and did not wish any further contact with the male complainant.

 

  • 1:16 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker in reference to a tractor trailer impeding traffic flow by not allowing other motorists to pass.

 

  • 1:34 p.m. - Nathaniel Burrison, 55 of Ridgeland SC, was found highly intoxicated and passed out lying on the side of the roadway at the intersection of West Main and Russell Street.  A family member arrived on scene and took custody of him in order to take him home.

 

  • 5:17 p.m. - James Butcher, 34 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice without incident for the property of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the request of the Property Manager.

 

  • 5:50 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at Ken's Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 9:20 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 9:55 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North traveling between Hardeeville and Ridgeland in reference to a black pickup weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 11:53 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a silver Jeep traveling at a high rate of speed.

 

 

APRIL 17, 2015

 

  • 7:08 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

  • 5:07 p.m. - A female carrying a baby was reportedly walking South on the railroad tracks at the Smith's Crossing / Highway 17 intersection.

 

  • 5:37 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street in reference to an ongoing dispute between two females. 

 

  • 5:41 p.m. - A 39 year old male was voluntarily transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville from a residence on Live Oak Farm Road after reportedly attempting to harm himself.

 

  • 6:36 p.m. - A larceny was reported at the Beauty World Supply Store at 8205 East Main Street after a routine review of security footage revealed a black female wearing a red dress entering the store at approximately 2:15 p.m. and stealing store items.  The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

  • 7:23 p.m. - A silver Volkswagen Passat was stopped for an expired tag violation on East Frontage Road near the Ridgeland Correctional Institution where driver Albert Christopher Nelson was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina drivers license stemming from cancellation of insurance and a failure to pay traffic ticket violation with one previous conviction for driving under suspension appearing on his driving record from 2013.  In addition, Nelson was unable to provide any proof of valid insurance coverage or a registration for the vehicle at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 7:37 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 7:59 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted at the Ridgeland Farmers Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after several juveniles were seen on the property.

 

  • 10:31 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a female knocking on windows at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where, upon arrival, Elouise Anderson was found to be intoxicated while walking on the centerline of the street.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

 

APRIL 16, 2015

 

  • 3:12 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at a residence on Fordville Road in reference to several juveniles attempting to fight the complainant's granddaughter in the front yard.

 

  • 4:15 p.m. - A silver Honda Accord was reportedly sideswiped by a black Toyota Prius while traveling South on I-95 around the 23 mile marker.  The driver of the Honda stopped at the 18 mile marker in order to report the incident as the Toyota continued traveling South.

 

  • 7:15 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Owens Street.

 

  • 7:55 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 11:10 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a male and female was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

APRIL 15, 2015

 

  • 2:20 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Grayco Lumber & Hardware Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

 

  • 3:29 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a Fedex tractor trailer weaving in and out of the lane of travel.

 

  • 7:02 a.m. - A larceny was reported at the Ridgeland Fire Department at 49 South Railroad Avenue after an employee awoke to find 2 tool bags containing numerous tools as well as a 5 foot ladder and a shovel missing from his vehicle which had been left unlocked during the night.

 

  • 7:17 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a dark colored vehicle cutting other motorists off.

 

  • 9:54 a.m. - A stray brown pit bull was reported on South Logan Street.

 

  • 12:08 p.m. - A larceny was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after a contractor for Verizon Wireless discovered a piece of testing equipment known as a Kaelus PIM missing from an unlocked storage compartment on his vehicle.

 

  • 3:27 p.m. - A black Mercury Mariner and a gold Ford pickup were involved in a collision on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Adams Street intersection.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 6:02 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

 

 

APRIL 14, 2015

 

  • 1:48 a.m. - A welfare check was requested at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a female who was reportedly not feeling well failed to answer her door.

 

  • 3:04 a.m. - A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to loud music coming from a neighboring residence.

 

  • 6:13 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a vehicle parked by a fuel pump for an extended period of time.  Upon arrival the vehicle occupant was found to be a store employee.

 

  • 6:41 a.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after an argument between a male and female turned physical with the female party being assaulted before escaping through a bedroom window and fleeing to a neighboring residence.  A 2 year old child of the victim and suspect was taken from the residence when the male party left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival but was returned to the mother through a relative at approximately 2:30 p.m.   A warrant affidavit has been filed against Levon Habersham Jr., 27 of Ridgeland SC, charging him with criminal domestic violence.

  • 8:38 a.m. - A possible road rage incident was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a Ford Taurus and a Buick LeSabre impeding traffic flow and refusing to allow a blue Peterbilt tractor trailer to pass.  One of the drivers of the passenger cars ultimately stated that the Peterbilt had run her vehicle off of the roadway between Hardeeville and Ridgeland at which time South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers were notified in order to report the incident.

 

  • 1:24 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted at a residence at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 911 call was received from a male subject who stated that he was being abusive.

 

  • 1:39 p.m. - A male subject was reportedly lying by the roadside on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker.  Officers assisted him to the Point South area where he was dropped off and advised of the laws pertaining to pedestrians on the interstate.

 

  • 2:12 p.m. - A black Honda Fit was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where passenger Michael Alexander Lovler Tapia, 24 of Gainesville FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

  • 5:44 p.m. - A civil complaint was filed at a residence on North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a neighbor burning trash.

 

  • 6:49 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on North Green Street in reference to a black vehicle driving erratically.

 

  • 7:25 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a silver Chevy Camaro driving at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 8:08 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed in reference to threatening messages being posted on Facebook following a fight between two 9th grade females at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

 

  • 8:33 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 9:56 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Carters Mill Road after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 10:19 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to a gold Honda in the parking lot.

 

  • 10:34 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident in the Oak Plantation Commons Community in reference to subjects being loud at the Ridgeland Baptist Church basketball court at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

 

APRIL 13, 2015

 

  • 12:16 a.m. - A black Ford F150 pickup was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker after the driver lost control and left the roadway striking a tree off of the right shoulder.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 12:34 a.m. - A black male was reportedly attempting to break into tenants' vehicles in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.

 

  • 5:05 a.m.- A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 29 mile marker in reference to a gold Jeep braking short in front of other motorists.

 

  • 10:26 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 1:35 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker in reference to a black Mitsubishi weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 3:57 p.m. - A possible sexual assault involving juvenile victims was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.  This case is under investigation.

 

  • 7:20 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street in reference to two white males on skateboards making threatening statements to passers by.

 

  • 9:09 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a 17 year old male breaking items inside of the home.

 

  • 11:36 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male and female arguing in the parking lot.

 

 

APRIL 12, 2015

 

  • 12:33 a.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a male and female at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where the female party suffered cuts to her arm after punching a business window.  The subject was treated on scene by EMS Personnel and the business declined pursuing charges in reference to the broken window.

 

  • 1:32 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at Cooler's Store at 4 Coosaw Scenic Drive where a pane of glass on the front of the business was found to have been shattered by an unknown person.

 

  • 5:48 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a driver throwing beer cans out of the vehicle and weaving in and out of the lane of travel.

 

  • 7:41 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

  • 9:31 a.m. - Stephen Dexter Youmans was placed under arrest during a traffic stop with Hardeeville Officers at the Wal-Mart Store at 4400 Highway 278 in Hardeeville in reference to two outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was turned over to the custody of Ridgeland Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Youmans' charges stemmed from an April 6th and April 8th shoplifting incident at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where he was captured on surveillance video stealing store items.

 

  • 1:12 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 31 mile marker in reference to a white tractor trailer weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 2:40 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 163 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to unwanted text messages and telephone calls being sent from an ex-girlfriend of the complainant.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Shakieria Navonna Ruth, 22 of Gifford SC, charging her with unlawful use of telephone.

  • 4:03 p.m. - A red Ford Expedition was stopped for speeding on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Adams Street intersection where driver Donald Anthony Hemphill was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver's license stemming from several failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

 

  • 4:52 p.m. - A silver Chevrolet HHR was stopped for speeding at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Addison Gregory Allen Altizer was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from a points violation.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

 

  • 7:03 p.m. - A larceny was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive after a male and female in a white Hyundai Santa Fe displaying a GJ's Auto Sales temporary tag dispensed fuel and then left the business without paying.  If you have any information on the identity of the subjects pictured below please contact Sgt.   • 7:16 p.m. - A welfare check was requested from a residence in Douglasville GA in reference to a male subject on Hagin Drive in Ridgeland who had not been heard from in 24 hours.

 

  • 9:10 p.m. - A dispute was reported at the Wendy's Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road after a customer accidentally left a SC atlas inside the restaurant which was then picked up and carried away by a juvenile.  The complainant did not wish to pursue charges but wanted the incident documented.

 

  • 11:33 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

 

APRIL 11, 2015

 

  • 12:08 a.m. - A burglary was reported at a residence in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community at 700 North Green Street after the homeowners returned to find that their back door had been forced open and several personal items were missing including jewelry and a wallet.  The incident reportedly occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. and midnight on April 10th.

 

  • 12:51 a.m. - A suspicious person was reported in reference to a male subject lying on the ground by his vehicle behind Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

  • 1:05 a.m. - Patrol Officers spotted a partially open door on the back side of the New Generations Adult Day Care Facility at 8205 East Main Street.  The building was searched and secured with no signs of criminal activity.

 

  • 1:37 a.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a tenant being awakened to find a bug in her bed.

 

  • 5:10 a.m. - Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where the male party produced a knife which he used to harm himself before walking to the rear of the complex.  Once on scene Officers discovered the male who refused to put down his knife and continued making threats to harm himself.  After a short period of time he ultimately placed the knife on the ground and was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment and evaluation without further incident.

 

  • 12:15 p.m. - A civil dispute regarding a towed vehicle was reported at J&M Auto at 159 South Green Street.

 

  • 2:39 p.m. - A larceny was reported at Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street in reference to a missing wallet.  Once on scene Officers were advised by the complainant that the theft occurred at a Shell Station in Palm Beach FL.  He was advised to make contact with the Palm Beach Police Department in order to report the incident.

 

  • 4:28 p.m. - A Jeep Liberty and a Honda Prelude were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Liberty Gas Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 5:00 p.m. - A harassment report was filed by a resident of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to an ongoing dispute between the complainant and another female.

 

  • 5:36 p.m. - A reckless driver report was filed in reference to a red Kia Sorento and a blue passenger car traveling North on I-95 between Hardeeville and Ridgeland with occupants throwing items back and forth from one vehicle to the other.

 

  • 7:20 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Wendy's Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.

 

 

APRIL 10, 2015

 

  • 3:38 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers were flagged down by security team members at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a fight in progress.  The incident was ultimately handled by staff members with no charges filed.

 

  • 7:20 a.m. - A white Hyundai suffered damage to the right passenger side from an unknown person in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

  • 7:54 a.m. - A state owned Chevy Impala was struck by an unknown vehicle in the parking lot of the Jasper County Department of Juvenile Justice Office at 1504 Grays Highway.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 9:11 a.m. - A wheel fender fell from a Kenworth tractor trailer while traveling North on I-95 around the 20 mile marker which then struck a white Infiniti traveling behind causing damage to the windshield.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 12:02 p.m. - A large group of motorcycles were reportedly impeding traffic and passing in the emergency lane on I-95 North around the 10 mile marker.

 

  • 12:55 p.m. - A possible missing person was reported by a complainant in Florida in reference to their 26 year old daughter not being heard from in several days and possibly being last seen at the Ridgeland Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  The female was ultimately contacted by the complainant in an outside jurisdiction.

 

  • 1:30 p.m. - A blue Toyota Camry and a gray Ford F150 pickup were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 3:53 p.m. - A civil complaint was filed between two neighboring residences on West Smith Street in reference to a freezer purchase.

 

  • 4:47 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland in reference to the driver of silver Volvo weaving in and out of the lane of travel while texting.

 

  • 4:48 p.m. - Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where inmate Aljaquan Lamont Hugue was formally charged with a burglary warrant stemming from a February 24, 2014 incident at a residence at Oakridge Trailer Park.  Evidence collected at the scene was submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for DNA analysis which returned on February 19, 2015 with a positive match identifying Hugue as the suspect who committed the burglary.  Warrant service was delayed due to the fact that Hugue was being held in the Charleston County Detention Center after being transferred from Jasper County Detention for conflicts with other inmates following his arrest on March 6, 2014 after burglarizing a home on East Wilson Street.

 

  • 6:16 p.m. - A stray dog was reportedly crossing the lanes of travel on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker.

 

  • 7:21 p.m. - Two juvenile males were reportedly throwing rocks at passing vehicles on South Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 9:02 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street in reference to unwanted telephone calls and visitors.

 

  • 10:34 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a gray Mercedes tailgating and weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 10:42 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to several subjects standing around in the parking lot area.

 

 

APRIL 9, 2015

 

  • 12:02 a.m. - A gray Nissan Sentra was stopped for an improper turn violation on East Main Street at the I-95 interchange where driver Steven Kenneth Jefferson was found to be operating under a suspended Virginia driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Passenger Jessica Snow was cited and assigned a court date after being found in possession of an open container of beer.

 

  • 12:29 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 1:32 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

  • 3:45 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 9:01 a.m. - A black Chrysler Town & Country mini van was stopped for speeding on I-95 South at the 19 mile marker where driver Aaron Devon Johnson provided the Officer with a fake South Carolina driver's license.  Once his true identity was determined he was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Cobb County Georgia Sheriff's Office who declined extradition.  Both Johnson and passenger Daniel Ighodaro were ultimately placed under arrest after numerous fake ID's and credit cards were discovered inside of the vehicle as well as the hardware used to manufacture them.  They were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle and Federal Agents were notified of the incident.  During the booking process Johnson was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and Ighodaro was found to be concealing a large quantity of U.S. currency as well as several additional fraudulent credit cards.

 

  • 2:46 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Owens Street.

 

  • 3:00 p.m. - A green Honda Accord and a white Dodge pickup were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 5:20 p.m. - Two suspicious persons were reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to two males arguing with one another.

 

  • 6:51 p.m. - A gray Volvo station wagon was struck by a white vehicle which then fled the area without reporting the collision in the parking lot of the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 7:26 p.m. - Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a hold had been placed on inmate Adam Daniel Denton in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Denton's charges stemmed from a February 6, 2014 incident at the Okatie Construction Office on Glover Road where he stole several hundred dollars worth of tools from his employer at which time a warrant was issued against him.  He was then arrested during a South Carolina Highway Patrol traffic stop in Hardeeville on February 18, 2014 and found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on March 17, 2014.  He was placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

  • 8:31 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

 

 

APRIL 8, 2015

 

  • 1:48 a.m. - A disturbance was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to several black males shouting at one another in the parking lot.

 

  • 3:47 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the R&M Small Engine Repair Shop at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 5:12 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North between Hardeeville and Ridgeland in reference to a tractor trailer weaving in and out of traffic.

 

  • 8:40 a.m. - A shoplifting was reported at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a review of surveillance video revealed a white male subject stealing store items on April 6th and April 8th. After reviewing the footage two warrant affidavits were filed against Stephen Dexter Youmans, 51 of Seabrook SC, charging him with 2 counts of shoplifting.

  • 8:58 a.m. - A suspicious person was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street in reference to a black male subject found sleeping on a bench.

 

  • 9:05 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North in reference to a blue Chevy pickup weaving in and out of the lane of travel. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle around the 21 mile marker where the driver was found to be having a medical problem.  EMS Personnel were dispatched and ultimately transported the driver to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

  • 9:15 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Saul's Funeral Home Office at 500 West Adams Street.

 

  • 1:05 p.m. - A Goodyear service truck backed into a legally parked Freightliner tractor trailer on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 3:05 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a wanted person seen walking behind the business.

 

  • 5:24 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted on North Logan Street after an open line 911 call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 6:45 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 7:48 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a black Dodge Neon traveling at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 8:51 p.m. - A welfare check was conducted at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street after a 3rd party call was received by Emergency Services in reference to a male subject asking for assistance.

 

  • 10:10 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on Bees Creek Road after the homeowner returned to find an unoccupied green sedan parked on the property.

 

  • 11:42 p.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to several subjects standing around in the parking lot.

 

 

APRIL 7, 2015

 

  • 12:09 a.m. - A burglary was reported at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road after the homeowners returned to find an Xbox gaming system missing.  The incident reportedly occurred sometime between 8:00 a.m. and midnight on April 6th.

 

  • 1:08 a.m. - A disturbance was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after 2 unknown males allegedly chased a tenant from the property as he was returning to his room.

 

  • 6:00 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian walking on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker.  Upon arrival Rudy Tranka refused to follow the Officer's orders to leave the interstate and continued crossing both lanes of travel numerous times in an attempt to evade contact.  He was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center without further incident.

 

  • 7:52 a.m. - A silver Volkswagen Jetta and a gray Toyota Camry were involved in a collision on Highway 278 at the Russell Street intersection.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 9:16 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 9:34 a.m. - A black Dodge pickup struck a legally parked gold Toyota Camry in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution at 5 Correctional Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 11:03 a.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from an assault between 2 females that was previously reported to the Bluffton Police Department.

 

  • 11:52 a.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male subject allegedly striking a female in the parking lot.  Both parties left the area prior to Law Enforcement arrival.

 

  • 6:32 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Owens Street.

 

  • 8:13 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to the driver of a light blue Nissan weaving in and out of the lane of travel while texting.

 

  • 11:12 p.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive in reference to a Toyota Camry.

 

 

APRIL 6, 2015

 

  • 12:34 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Brandon Cove in reference to an unoccupied pickup with an open door.

 

  • 5:11 a.m.- A coin operated washing machine was stolen from the laundry room at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and carried to the wooded area behind the complex where it was beaten with a sledge hammer in order to breach the coin tray.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

 

  • 8:17 a.m. - A collision was reported in the parking lot of the Grayco Hardware and Lumber Store at 119 Industrial Park Road after a customer's blue Ford Taurus was struck by a red pickup while legally parked and unoccupied.  The incident occurred on Saturday April 4th but was not reported immediately due to the complainant being unsure of where it happened.

 

  • 10:08 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 16 mile marker in reference to a black GMC Yukon weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 10:53 a.m. - A shoplifting was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a review of surveillance footage by Store Management revealed 2 separate incidents involving Anthony Lee Mervin Jr., 18 of Ridgeland SC, who was captured on video stealing store items on March 31st and April 4th. Warrant affidavits have been filed against Mervin for two counts of shoplifting.

  • 12:37 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 13 mile marker in reference to a Mitsubishi Galant crossing the center line numerous times.

 

  • 3:05 p.m. - Investigators spotted Timothy Wright Jr. in front of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street who was listed as wanted person in reference to an April 1st burglary of a residence on East Woodlawn Street.  Officers approached Wright and advised him that he was under arrest at which time he immediately fled the area on foot running Northeast towards the rear of the Rite Aid complex as Officers pursued and back up units were dispatched.  He then leapt over a chain link fence behind the building falling into a large culvert where he injured himself in his effort to evade arrest.  He was placed under arrest without further incident as EMS was dispatched after he complained of an injured ankle.  Wright was ultimately transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment after which he was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 3:52 p.m. - A 5x8' U-Haul enclosed box trailer bearing CA plate number 4AP8038 was reported stolen from Ken's Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The incident occurred sometime between April 3rd and April 6th.

 

  • 4:34 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

 

  • 5:07 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed on East Adams Street in reference to threatening text messages being sent from a recently terminated employee of the complainant.

 

  • 10:38 p.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments in reference to several males standing around in the parking lot.

 

  • 10:58 p.m. - An assault was reported in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a dispute between 2 females arguing over a male.  Upon arrival Destiny Lashay Ford and Kimberly Bernita Bolden began fighting in front of the Officer's patrol vehicle.  Both were ultimately arrested without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 11:37 p.m. - A suspicious subject was reported on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker in reference to a shirtless male.

  • 12:02 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bobops Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

  • 12:46 a.m. - A suspicious male subject was reportedly causing a disturbance inside of the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  EMS was ultimately dispatched after Officers determined the elderly subject to be in need of a mental health evaluation.

 

  • 2:38 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on East Wilson Street.

 

  • 3:55 a.m. - A gray Kia was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker after the driver swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway and struck the center median barrier cables.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 4:38 a.m. - A gray Chevy Trailblazer was stopped on East Main Street after failing to dim headlights to oncoming traffic where driver Tonya M. Carswell was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 9:51 a.m. - An assault was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a black male approached a female customer inside the store and touched her in an inappropriate manner.  Surveillance video is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

  • 2:56 p.m. - A gray Chrysler 300 and a gray Ford mini van were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 2:57 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 39 mile marker in reference to a green Nissan pickup weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 3:19 p.m. - A white Lincoln MKZ and a gray Honda CRV were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 7:40 p.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed in reference to juveniles riding 4 wheeler across private property on Eleanor Avenue.

 

  • 10:11 p.m. - Several subject were reportedly arguing in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 10:12 p.m. - A black SUV was reportedly traveling North on I-95 around the 18 mile marker with no headlights in operation.

 

  • 10:59 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a black male shouting and cursing in the parking lot area.

 

  • 11:49 p.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a relative refusing to leave.

 

 

APRIL 4, 2015

 

  • 12:15 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Badcock Furniture Store at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a red pickup with two persons sleeping inside.

 

  • 12:44 a.m. - A noise complaint was filed in reference to loud music coming from a vehicle in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

  • 3:20 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a large fight in progress involving several individuals inside of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Dallas Rashad Major, 29 of Beaufort SC, was ultimately placed under arrest by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of assault & battery 3rd.

  • 6:17 a.m. - An intoxicated male pedestrian was struck by a gray Toyota Prius while standing in the roadway in front of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  He was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment to injuries sustained in the collision.

 

  • 9:22 a.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male tenant allegedly making inappropriate comments towards a female.

 

  • 10:08 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker in reference to a gray Honda Civic tailgating other vehicles.

 

  • 11:02 a.m. - Several locks were reportedly removed from various units at the Green Street Storage Facility at 698 West Adams Street.

 

  • 1:04 p.m. - A green Honda Accord was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker after the driver lost control and struck the center median barrier cables.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 4:12 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a male subject making statements that he may wish to do harm to himself while armed with a knife standing outside of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office Detectives Annex at 1538 Carters Mill Road.  He was ultimately transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

 

  • 8:43 p.m. - Officers responded to the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street in reference to a report of a male subject causing a disturbance using profane language and making threatening statements in the parking lot.  Upon arrival William Glenn Gibson continued the behavior while speaking with Officers and was determined to be intoxicated.  He was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 9:23 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Fifth Avenue in reference to a male subject driving a red pickup attempting to force the complainant's vehicle off of the roadway several times.

 

  • 9:48 p.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to numerous subjects standing around in the parking lot.

 

  • 10:38 p.m. - A trespassing complaint was filed in reference to subjects possibly being inside of a vacant apartment at 613 East Wilson Street.

 

  • 11:36 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on James Taylor Drive.

 

 

APRIL 3, 2015

 

  • 1:46 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker in reference to an orange Chevy Monte Carlo traveling at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 1:51 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to the parking lot of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a traffic stop initiated by South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers where driver Travis Antwan Lee, 22 of Hardeeville SC, bit the Officer while attempting to drive away during the stop.  He was ultimately placed under arrest at which time he was found to be in possession of a concealed handgun as well as a quantity of marijuana and an open container of alcohol in addition to being listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office stemming from a previous driving under suspension charge.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under South Carolina Highway Patrol charges of failure to stop for blue lights, simple possession of marijuana, open container, unlawful carry of a handgun, assault on a Police Officer, driving under suspension & convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

  • 3:39 a.m. - Officers responded to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an inmate causing a disturbance.

 

  • 4:05 a.m. - A red Honda Accord was stopped at the intersection of East Main and Ryan Street after stopping in the lane of travel in front of the Goodwill Store at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and failing to dim headlights to oncoming traffic. A strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle which the driver attributed to having just left Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Passenger Lorenzo Larry Dash, 20 of Pineland SC, was ultimately found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana concealed in his sock.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

  • 11:55 a.m. - A green Mercury Grand Marquis and a white Chevy Colorado were involved in a collision on Third Avenue around the Floyd Street intersection.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 12:40 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

  • 12:40 p.m. - A stray female pit bull was reported in front of the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

  • 12:52 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 25 mile marker in reference to a white Ford pickup forcing other motorists off of the roadway.

 

  • 1:29 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

  • 1:48 p.m. - A gray Dodge Ram pickup and a gold Nissan Sentra were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Wilson Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 2:12 p.m. - A blue Buick Century and a black Nissan Altima were involved in a collision at the Bobop's Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 3:05 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 3:46 p.m. - A red Chevy pickup and a white Ford Ranger were involved in a collision at the intersection of Main Street and Green Street.  The driver of the Chevy then fled the area without reporting the collision but returned a short time later at which time the driver was issued a citation for no driver's license after her Maryland driver's license was found to be under a state of suspension.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 4:05 p.m. - A white Ford van was reported traveling South on I-95 around the 21 mile marker being operated by a male drinking alcohol.

 

  • 5:30 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 11 mile marker in reference to a tan Ford F150 pickup weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

 

  • 8:08 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to an activated alarm at a residence on Smith's Crossing where an unsecured back door was discovered upon arrival.

 

  • 9:14 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a dark colored pickup driving erratically.

 

  • 10:43 p.m. - A noise complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to loud music coming from one of the units.

 

  • 11:01 p.m. - A white Ford Ranger was stopped for speeding on I-95 North at the 22 mile marker where driver Renato Molina-Reyes was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 11:54 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

 

 

APRIL 2, 2015

 

  • 1:42 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the K&L Granite and Marble showroom at 11742 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 1:51 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a fight in progress at Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 3:25 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 9:41 a.m. - A missing wallet was reported at the Ridgeland Comprehensive Health Office at 1550 Grays Highway.  The wallet was ultimately located at the Estill Office and returned to the rightful owner.

 

  • 10:14 a.m. - A civil complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a customer's vehicle struck a wall by the swimming pool area.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 11:35 a.m. - A black Toyota Tacoma and a white BMW were involved in a collision at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  One occupant was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

  • 12:15 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.

 

  • 1:08 p.m. - A silver Toyota Corolla and a maroon SUV were involved in a collision on the I-95 exit 21 off ramp.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 1:53 p.m. - Three suspicious males were reported in the parking lot area of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

 

  • 3:11 p.m. - An intoxicated male subject was reported at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 11090 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after allegedly urinating on the side of the building. He was ultimately picked up and taken home by an acquaintance after Ridgeland Officers spotted him in the business parking lot in a white Ford Fusion.

 

  • 5:03 p.m. - A suspicious person was reported at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street.

 

  • 6:37 p.m. - A civil complaint was filed at Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a dispute over vehicle repairs.

 

  • 6:48 p.m. - An escort was requested in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a child custody exchange.

 

  • 7:32 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to an ongoing dispute between two neighbors.

 

  • 7:40 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a vacant residence on Carters Mill Road.

 

  • 11:31 p.m. - A domestic dispute was reported at the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a male and female arguing in the parking lot.

 

 

APRIL 1, 2015

 

  • 1:53 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 17 mile marker in reference to a Roadway tractor trailer driving erratically.

 

  • 6:47 a.m. - A red Chevy Silverado pickup was stopped for speeding on Highway 17 at the exit 18 interchange where driver Adriana Chavez was found to be operating without a driver's license.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Chavez was previously arrested and charged with a no driver's license violation as well as outstanding warrants with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office during a January 31, 2014 traffic stop on Great Swamp Road.

 

  • 8:26 a.m. - A report was filed at a residence at Ridge Point Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to a male acquaintance of the complainant allegedly climbing into her bedroom window at approximately 9 p.m. on March 31st.  The complainant did not wish to pursue charges.

 

  • 9:49 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Charleston County Detention Center at 3841 Leeds Avenue in Charleston SC where a hold had been placed on inmate Benjamin Washington in reference to outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. He was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Washington's charges stemmed from a July 14, 2013 incident at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Ellis Hodges Road where he struck a GMC Envoy while driving a Chevy Avalanche causing injury to the driver.  He then fled the scene without reporting the collision and attempted to hide the vehicle behind his residence before fleeing on a bicycle.  Washington was ultimately returned to the scene of the collision by a family member where he was cited and assigned a court date for failure to yield right of way and leaving the scene of an accident with an attended vehicle before being transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center along with the driver of the vehicle he struck.  Washington was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on August 19, 2013 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court order fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

  • 10:15 a.m. - A black male was witnessed burglarizing an East Woodlawn Street residence by forcing entry through a rear door while the homeowner was at work.  Once inside the suspect stole a Browning 12 gauge shotgun and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area. 

 

  • 10:35 a.m. - A report was filed at a Wiley Street residence in reference to an assault that allegedly occurred in the parking lot of the Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard at approximately 9 p.m. on March 31st.  The victim was transported by a friend to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment to injuries sustained during the attack.  Hospital staff members contacted Ridgeland Officers in reference to the incident at 10:34 p.m. at which time the victim was advised to contact the Ridgeland Police Department after his release from the hospital.  A warrant has been issued against Billy Joel Wheeler, 29 of Ridgeland SC, charging him with assault & battery 2nd.

  • 12:02 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 20 mile marker in reference to a tan Ford F150 pickup pulling a black flatbed trailer traveling at a high rate of speed and forcing other drivers off of the roadway.

 

  • 1:49 p.m. - A property damage complaint was filed at a residence on First Avenue in reference to a mailbox being knocked over and flattened.

 

  • 2:26 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker in reference to a burgundy Toyota Scion crossing the center line several times.

 

  • 3:20 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker in reference to a blue tractor trailer passing on the shoulder.

 

  • 3:55 p.m. - A gold Lexus RX300 was stopped for an equipment violation at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Smith Street where driver Denisha Levett Aiken was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office for a fraudulent check charge.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center pending extradition to Charleston County as the vehicle was released to a licensed acquaintance with Aiken's permission.

 

  • 5:35 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker in reference to a black Toyota passing on the shoulder.

 

  • 6:57 p.m. - Two males and two females in a white Chevy van were reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

  • 7:07 p.m. - An open door was discovered at the Ridgeland Bargains Store at 7797 West Main Street.  There were no signs of forced entry and no items reported missing.

 

  • 7:12 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Farm Bureau Insurance Office at 9438 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 10:27 p.m. - A blue Toyota Scion was reported on I-95 South around the 33 mile marker driving without headlights in operation.

 

  • 11:37 p.m. - A report of gunshots being fired was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 11:41 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Railroad Avenue.
