MAY 4, 2016

 

  • 3:04 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 28 mile marker in reference to a dark colored passenger car.

 

  • 8:23 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

 

  • 10:53 a.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to a female causing problems with the female complainant over a common male acquaintance.

 

  • 12:08 p.m. - A report of illegal drug activity was filed at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a black male, two white females and two juveniles in the parking lot area.

 

  • 12:15 p.m. - A domestic dispute between two male roommates was reported at a residence on Grays Highway which ended with a third male receiving a small cut on his hand after intervening in the situation.  The suspect left the residence prior to Law Enforcement arrival as the victim who received the cut declined pursuing charges in the matter.

 

  • 2:24 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where two outstanding warrants were served against Isaiah Lamon Walker following his arrest by South Carolina Highway Patrol during a traffic stop in Hardeeville.  Walker's charges stemmed from a May 15th 2015 traffic stop behind the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where he was captured on dash cam fleeing from the driver's seat of a burgundy Ford Expedition which had been reported stolen several days prior from a residence in Hardeeville.  The same vehicle was also identified as having been involved in the May 14th 2015 pursuit of a stolen Mercedes-Benz in Beaufort County.  He was ultimately captured in Beaufort City on June 15th 2015 by the US Marshals serving an unrelated murder warrant against a male subject who was found hiding with Walker behind a storage shed at a residence on Fourth Street in Beaufort.  Walker was originally charged with failure to stop for blue lights/siren and possession of a stolen vehicle, both of which were later remanded to receiving stolen goods less than $2000 and failure to comply with lawful direction of Police.  He then failed to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court to answer to the charges on July 13th 2015 where he was found guilty during a trial in absence and two warrants were issued for his arrest.

 

  • 4:29 p.m. - A suspicious white male driving a black passenger car was reportedly taking photographs of several residences on North Green Street.

 

  • 5:27 p.m. - A black bicycle was reported stolen after being left outside of the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street.  The incident is said to have occurred on Friday April 29th.

 

  • 6:03 p.m. - A loitering complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to black males in the parking lot area allegedly involved in the May 3rd shooting incident at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 6:07 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on McTeer Street.

 

  • 8:03 p.m. - A blue Hyundai Elantra was stopped for speeding in excess of 100 mph on I-95 South around the 23 mile marker where driver Christopher Mark Swann Jr. was found to be operating under a suspended Maryland driver's license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 9:36 p.m. - Two suspicious vehicles were reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

 

MAY 3, 2016

 

  • 12:36 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a silver passenger car.

 

  • 9:45 a.m. - Ridgeland Officers transported a 50 year old male from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to the Palmetto Behavioral Health Center in North Charleston for evaluation and treatment.

 

  • 9:57 a.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway.

 

  • 11:33 a.m. - Patrol Officers spotted a white male hitchhiking while walking on the shoulder of I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  Robert Christopher Brooks was ultimately placed under arrest for the offense at which time he kicked the arresting Officer twice while continuously attempting to pull away from him.  The incident escalated with Brooks spitting at and biting the Officer before ultimately being taken under control.  He was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment before being transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

  • 1:09 p.m. - A larceny was reported at the Grayco Hardware & Building Supply Store at 119 Industrial Park Road after a 36 year old white male attempted to use a family member's business account to purchase several hardware and lumber items.  Further information revealed that the same suspect had made two separate purchases on the account on Friday April 29th which remained unreported until today's date after the account holder discovered the offense and contacted Grayco Management at which time the account was refunded.

 

  • 1:14 p.m. - A property damage report was filed at a residence on East Adams Street after the homeowner discovered a broken back door window glass.  There were no signs that the suspect had made entry and no items reported missing.

 

  • 2:15 p.m. - Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort SC where inmate Kevon Travon Williams Jr. was turned over to their custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Williams' charges stemmed from a December 11th 2015 incident at the Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where a shoplifting warrant was issued for his arrest after he and two other black males were captured on surveillance video stealing store items.  He was then spotted sitting in a white Ford Mustang by Patrol Officers in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard on February 17th 2016 at which time he immediately exited the vehicle and fled the area running East on Adams Street after being advised that he was under arrest.  An inventory of the vehicle prior to towing revealed a Hi Point 380 handgun as well as a Kel-Tec 380 which was reported stolen to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office on August 28th 2015 following a vehicle break in at R&K Repairs in Hardeeville.

 

  • 5:15 p.m. - A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported at a residence on East Adams Street.

 

  • 8:06 p.m. - A white male was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

 

  • 8:20 p.m. - Patrol Officers observed a white Chevy Impala exiting The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard while exchanging gunfire with subjects in the parking lot area.  The suspect vehicle continued to accelerate in a reckless manner as Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop resulting in a short pursuit turning East on Adams Street and ultimately coming to a stop in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.  Devante Dontrez Frost, who was recently placed on trespass notice for the property of The Siesta Motel, immediately exited the passenger side of the vehicle dropping a Rossi 357 Magnum revolver to the ground as he fled on foot running South leaving behind driver Antonio Durell-Ray Watson, 23 of Ridgeland SC, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.  Frost continued to run South dropping a second handgun to the ground before ultimately being taken into custody without further incident.  The handgun was then recovered and found to be a Glock model 23 .40 caliber listed as stolen by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.  Frost was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Watson was transported by EMS to Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  Evidence collected at the scene was submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis as the vehicle was transported to the Ridgeland Police Department by Scott's Automotive.  No injuries were reported at The Siesta Motel.

 

  • 8:58 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

  • 9:00 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

  • 9:06 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the SCDOT lot at 112 East Woodlawn Street.

 

  • 10:37 p.m. - Officers responded to an activated alarm at the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street.

 

 

MAY 2, 2016

 

  • 10:37 a.m. - Timothy Lanton Murnane, 54 of Ridgeland SC, was placed on trespass notice for the property of the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street at the request of staff members after displaying increasingly erratic behavior and harassing library patrons.

 

  • 1:42 p.m. - A burgundy Infiniti i30 was stopped for a defective brake light violation on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker where driver Sadrick Donte Palmer was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol as well as operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from multiple failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 2:30 p.m. - A disturbance was reported at The Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to several males arguing in the parking lot area.

 

  • 3:55 p.m. - A white Ryder tractor trailer, a silver Chevy Malibu and a black Toyota Matrix were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker impeding traffic flow for approximately 2 hours.  Weather conditions prohibited airlifting patients from the scene resulting in EMS transporting the 53 year old female driver from the Malibu to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville where she was pronounced dead upon her arrival and four to Savannah Memorial Hospital where the 82 year old male passenger from the Malibu ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

         

 

  • 7:08 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker in reference to a dark blue Ford E150 van.

 

  • 9:21 p.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the EZ Stop IV Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to money allegedly owed to a male complainant by his former employer.

 

  • 9:24 p.m. - A harassment complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to two armed males causing a disturbance.

 

  • 11:45 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a white Ford pickup.

 

 

MAY 1, 2016

 

  • 12:17 a.m. - A suspicious vehicle was reported at the intersection of Sycamore Drive and East Main Street in reference to a white SUV.

 

  • 2:16 a.m. - A civil dispute was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to a customer requesting a refund.

 

  • 3:23 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates community after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 4:13 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted at The Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 8:57 a.m. - A red Dodge Ram pickup was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker where driver Jonathan Lorenzo Tart was found to be operating under a suspended Washington driver's license stemming from failure to pay traffic ticket violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 9:30 a.m. - A gray Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 North around the 22 mile marker where driver Tony Wayne Pfeffer was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana packaged for distribution.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Hook Ups Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 9:41 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 32 mile marker in reference to a silver van.

 

  • 11:00 a.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker in reference to a white Jeep.

 

  • 11:02 a.m. - A welfare check was conducted at the Davita Dialysis Center at 112 Weathersbee Street after a 911 hang up call was received by Jasper County Emergency Services.

 

  • 11:42 a.m. - A shoplifting was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard with the suspect leaving the business property driving a blue Lincoln Continental.  Responding Officers quickly spotted the suspect traveling South and conducted a traffic stop in front of the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Anthony Ray Mazes immediately became argumentive refusing to obey verbal commands and leaving his vehicle in gear slowly rolling forward.  After being advised that he was under arrest the suspect began to fight with the arresting Officers resulting in an additional charge and was ultimately restrained without further incident.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 12:22 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker in reference to a white passenger car.

 

  • 1:08 p.m. - A Dodge van and a Toyota Avalon were involved in a collision on I-95 North at the exit 22 interchange.  No injuries were reported.

 

  • 1:36 p.m. - An assault was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to a black male allegedly pointing a handgun at a male victim in the parking lot area.

 

  • 3:53 p.m. - A gold Ford F150 pickup was stopped for speeding on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker where driver Juan Salgado was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • 5:04 p.m. - A black female was captured on surveillance video stealing store items at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and then fleeing the area on foot running towards North Green Street when confronted by Management. The footage is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

  • 5:23 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a yellow passenger car.

 

  • 9:44 p.m. - A reckless driver was reported on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker in reference to a burgundy tractor trailer.
