OCTOBER 30, 2014

 

Officers responded to a disturbance at the Peoples Finance Company at 7669 West Main Street in reference to a male subject shouting and using profanities inside of the business.  Upon arrival suspect Clinton Green was found outside of the business grossly intoxicated at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Promise Way where a 14 year old male reportedly shoved his mother and sister during an argument and then fled the residence on foot.  He was soon after located by Officers in the Ridgeland Cemetery where he was detained and transported back to his home where he was released to the custody of his mother.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Barkin' Basement Consignment Shop at 10974 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A complaint was filed by a resident on Second Avenue in reference to an email account being hacked and money solicitation messages being sent to the complainant's contacts.

 

A Mazda 626 and a Buick Park Avenue were involved in a collision in front of the Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A property damage report was filed in the parking lot of the Marvelous Manes Shop at 8225 East Main Street in reference to the complainant's blue Suzuki SUV sustaining damage by the passenger side rear tire. 

 

A Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corolla were involved in a collision in front of the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street where one of the drivers involved, Diona Wright 18 of Ridgeland, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

A disturbance was reported at Jasper County Emergency Services at 1509 Grays Highway where Lindsay Toomer, 60 of Ridgeland, was found to be intoxicated.  He was released to the care of a friend who agreed to drive him home.

 

A suspicious person was reported at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

A report of possible gusnhots was filed at a residence on McCormack Avenue in reference to the wooded area bordering Carters Mill Estates.

 

Officers responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the pool area of the North Ridge Community discovered Jawuan Shepherd and a 15 year old male juvenile sitting in a black BMW 325i smoking marijuana. Both subjects were then found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana at which time Shepherd was placed under arrest as the juvenile was released to the custody of his parents with a juvenile petition being filed against him for simple possession of marijuana.  Shepherd was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A Ford Focus and a Toyota Camry were involved in a collision at the intersection of Sweet William and Bees Creek Road.  The Camry then left the area without reporting the collision.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Childrens Pediatrics Office at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

OCTOBER 29, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Greenville County Detention Center in Mauldin SC where a hold had been placed on inmate Rueben Jerome Hays Jr. in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Hays' charges stemmed from a September 26, 2014 collision on I-95 South around the 18 mile marker when he sideswiped a Toyota Camry while driving a GMC Yukon and then left the area without reporting the collision.

 

A purse containing numerous pieces of identification as well as an undisclosed amount of cash was reported missing from a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Road.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after asking customers and passers by to change a possibly counterfeit $20 bill.  The subject was soon after reportedly soliciting narcotics in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Patrol Officers spotted the subject walking on Wise Street where he fled into a wooded area when approached.

 

An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 15 year old male failed to come home at curfew.  The male is currently on probation with the Department of Juvenile Justice.

 

A warrant affidavit has been filed against Larry Seabrook Malphrus III after he was observed exiting a relative's residence on North Green Street in direct violation of a restraining order recently issued by the Jasper County Magistrates Office.

Allen DeLoach turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an oustanding warrant issued against him stemming from an Octoer 27th domestic dispute at the Ridgeland High School football field at 456 Grays Highway.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the former Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers traveled to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where a hold had been placed on inmate Alan Wright in reference to an oustanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Wright's charges stemmed from a July 19, 2014 traffic stop at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street where he was arrested and charged for several traffic violations.  He was then found guilty of the charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on August 25th and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street and the Bobops Station at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

An A/C unit was reported stolen from the Little T's Towing Company at 11577 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

 

 

OCTOBER 28, 2014

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the H&H Furniture Store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 15 year old male failed to come home at curfew.  The male is currently on probation with the Department of Juvenile Justice.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.

 

 

OCTOBER 27, 2014

 

A 14 year old juvenile male was reported missing from a residence on North Jasper Street after refusing to return home.  Jakob Ryan Cleveland was last seen on October 26th around 1:00 pm.  He is described as a white male last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and tan pants.  He stands approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds with blue eyes and long blonde hair.  Please call 911 if you have any information on Jakob Cleveland's whereabouts.

 

Anthony Busby was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center from the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail in reference to outstanding felony warrants issued by the Hampton County Sheriff's Office, stemming from an October 9th carjacking incident, and the Port Royal Police Department stemming from an October 10th armed robbery.  Busby is the third suspect charged along with co-defendants Michael Eugene White Jr, 18 of Ridgeland, who was captured during an October 11th stolen vehicle pursuit with Ridgeland Police, and Davon Shawqwen Green, 18 of Ridgeland, who was captured by Jasper and Beaufort County Deputies following an October 10th stolen vehicle pursuit which originated in Beaufort County and ended at the intersection of Edinburgh Avenue and Morgan Dollar Road where he was captured hiding underneath a porch after fleeing the vehicle.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street, the Grayco Hardware Store at 119 Industrial Park Road and a residence on Fordville Road.

 

A Freightliner Semi and a Toyota Prius were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Two subjects were reportedly riding 4 wheelers on the roadway in a reckless manner on Smiths Crossing between Mitchelville Road and Bee Creek.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at the Ridgeland High School football field at 456 Grays Highway following a dispute between the victim and her ex-husband. A warrant affidavit has been filed against Allen Keyon Deloach, 36 of Ridgeland, charging him with criminal domestic violence.

A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to loud music from a neighboring residence.

 

A property damage report was filed by a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 267 Heron Crossing Road in reference to the victim's Honda Accord being damaged sometime between 1:00 am and 1:00 pm.

   

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Charleston County Detention Center where a hold had been placed on inmate Dionisio Omar Zobel in reference to an oustanding warrant issued against him.  Zobel was released upon his arrival at the Ridgeland Police Department after his attorney settled his Court ordered fines.  Zobel's charges stemmed from a June 3, 2014 traffic stop where he was cited for speeding and no driver's license.  He then failed to appear in court to answer to the charges on June 30th where he was found guilty following a trial in his absence resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

 

OCTOBER 26, 2014

 

A driver safety checkpoint was conducted on East Adams Street between Jacob Smart Boulevard and South Logan Street resulting in the following arrests:

 

  • Diane Cochrane was found to be operating a green Mazda MPV van without valid insurance coverage or a current registration.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • Enrique Santos-Romero was found to be operating a blue Chevy Envoy without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.  Romero was previously arrested and charged with no driver's license during a January 12, 2014 traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 17 and Mango Drive.

 

  • Rigoberto Cardenas was found to be operating a black GMC Sierra pickup without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to the registered owner.

 

  • Jamel Shivers was found to be operating a white Ford Econoline van with a broken windshield while under a suspended South Carolina driver's license in addition to having no proof of valid insurance coverage.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

An assault was reported at a residence on Malphrus Street in reference to two black males allegedly attacking the victim with a baseball bat in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community during a robbery.

 

A suspicious person was reported at a residence on McCormack Avenue.

 

A red moped was stopped for a tag violation at the intersection of Highway 17 and Mango Drive where driver Johnston Patterson was found to be operating without valid insurance coverage as well as under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with a previous conviction for driving under suspension on his recrod.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A welfare check was requested on a subject at a residence on Hagin Drive after suspicious texts were received by a concerned relative.

 

A black male wearing all black clothing was witnessed stealing several personal items out of an unlocked green Jeep Cherokee at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community. When the suspect realized that he had been seen he got into a gray Mitsubishi Montero Sport and fled the area.  An alert was issued to surrounding agencies for the vehicle which was stopped moments later by a Jasper County Sheriff's Deputy at the intersection of Carters Mill an Great Swamp Road where driver Frankie Austin was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A suspicious event was reported at a residence on West Main Street after the homeowner stated that they were awakened to the sound of someone possibly inside of their home.

 

An unlocked gray 2007 Toyota Camry with the keys left inside was reported stolen from a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community during a party at approximately 1:30 a.m.  The vehicle was recovered an hour and a half later after being discovered unoccupied in a ditch at the intersection of Timberland and Fordville Road.  The victim declined pursuing charges.

 

 

A suspicious person was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A white Chevy Prizm was stopped for a failure to yield to emergency vehicle violation on I-95 North around the 23 mile marker where driver Wanda Mayes was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as having no proof of valid insurance coverage.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The registered owner, Latrine Butler of Sumter SC, was issued a citation for allowing an unauthorized driver before the vehicle was released to her custody.

 

 

OCTOBER 25, 2014

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a subject walking on West Woodlawn Street after reportedly being followed and threatened by a subject from the Sparkle Car Wash at 10577 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A loud music complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

Officers responding to a disabled Ford Mustang around the 20 mile marker on I-95 North discovered Audrey Purdy, 19 of Waxhaw NC, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and Julia Morgan, 18 of Marvin NC, to be in possession of a fake South Carolina driver's license. Purdy was issued a citation and assigned a court date for simple possession of marijuana as Morgan's fake driver's license was seized for destruction.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Green Street in reference to a male and female in the top of the treehouse area.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on North Green Street.

 

A black Honda CN250 motorcycle was stopped for an improper passing violation at the Pizza Hut Restaurant at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Nafeast Patrick was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from multiple failure to pay violations as well as operating without a valid registration or insurance.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A suspicious male was reported at the intersection of Third Avenue and Russell Street.

 

A loud music complaint was filed in reference to an event being held at the Ridgeland Farmers Market at 9935 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on North Green Street.

 

Officers responded to the Jasper County Detention Center at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after a staff member discovered inmate Vernell Bolden, 28 of Grays Hill SC, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  Bolden was cited for the offense and assigned a court date.

 

 

OCTOBER 24, 2014

 

A driver safety checkpoint was orchestrated by the 14th Circuit Law Enforcement Network on Highway 462 near the Zion Oak Church resulting in 1 arrest by the South Carolina Highway Patrol for driving under the influence and simple possession of marijuana as well as another arrest by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office for simple possession of marijuana.  Additional checkpoints were conducted at the intersection of Smiths Crossing and Sycamore Drive as well as the exit 18 I-95 South interchange.  Just after 11:00 pm a gold Hyundai Sonata made an illegal u-turn on top of the exit 18 interstate overpass in an attempt to evade the checkpoint at which time Officers initiated a traffic stop.  The suspect vehicle then accelerated refusing to stop for blue lights and siren as it merged onto I-95 North where the driver turned off the vehicle headlights in an attempt to elude pursuing Officers.  The suspect then exited at the 21 mile marker where the driver lost control as he attempted to turn left at the bottom of the off ramp resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a group of trees.  The driver then fled running West on Main Street towards the EZ Stop II BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive as a perimeter was established in an effort to contain him. Joshua Aaron Dunham was ultimately captured while hiding inside of a dumpster in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street where he was turned over to the custody of South Carolina Highway Patrol for transport to the Jasper County Detention Center under a driving under the influence and open container charge from that agency.  Ridgeland Police charged Dunham with failure to stop for blue lights as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A domestic dispute at a residence on Hagin Drive regarding an argument over a vehicle resulted in Amanda Hilton being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after making threats towards the other party while being questioned by Officers.

 

Officers responded to a disturbance at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after a female customer was reportedly shouting and using profanity towards employees inside the store.  Amanda Lorraine Baker, 29 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice for both Handy Dan's Ridgeland locations at Management's request.

A Volkswagen and a Kia passenger car were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the Crowfield Road overpass.  No injuries were reported.

 

A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to several subjects loitering in the parking lot.

 

 

OCTOBER 23, 2014

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway, a residence on East Wilson Street, two separate activations at the South Carolina DMV Office at 407 Live Oak Drive and a residence on Woods Court.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A disturbance was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to a juvenile male cursing and harassing the homeowner.

 

A trespassing complaint was filed at the Sparkle Car Wash at 10577 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female subject allegedly soliciting on the business property.

 

 

OCTOBER 22, 2014

 

Officers responded to the Southbound lanes of I-95 around the 24 mile marker after numerous 911 calls were received regarding a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling South in the Northbound lanes in excess of 100 mph.  The vehicle was ultimately stopped around the 23 mile marker where driver Catherine Morin was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol as well as under a suspended Georgia driver's license stemming from a previous July 25th DUI conviction.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A complaint was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to non residents putting trash into the complex dumpster.

 

A purse was reported lost at the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.

 

An incorrigible juvenile report was filed at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 15 year old male juvenile refused to comply with a Court ordered curfew stemming from a previous Department of Juvenile Justice conviction which resulted in him being placed on probation.  The juvenile ultimately returned home just before 9 pm.

 

A Chevy Tahoe and a Chevy Monte Carlo were involved in a collision at the intersection of Bees Creek and Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

An assault occurred at the Sparkle Car Wash at 10577 South Jacob Smart Boulevard when a subject in the parking lot began harassing the complainant who was riding past the business on a bicycle. When the complainant said something back the suspect produced a knife and began coming towards him.  The incident didn't progress any further after other subjects at the Sparkle Car Wash began shouting for the suspect to stop.  The incident reportedly stems from an ongoing dispute over a female.

 

An assault was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a female being threatened by her Uncle.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Office at 407 Live Oak Road and the former Owens Building Supply Store at 9454 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

OCTOBER 21, 2014

 

Bradford Sandifer was placed under arrest at his residence on Hagin Drive and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to outstanding Family Court Bench Warrants issued against him by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at Little T's Towing at 11577 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person behind the Pratt Memorial Library at 451 East Wilson Street where Heide McMurray was found to be intoxicated and consuming alcohol.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an eviction process.

 

A BMW 740i and a Toyota Highlander were involved in a collision around the 20 mile marker on I-95 South.  The driver of the BMW was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeeville for treatment.

 

 

A wallet was stolen from inside of an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  The incident reportedly occurred sometime during the course of the last week.

 

A suspicious person was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A loitering complaint was filed at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street where William Gillyard was found to be intoxicated as well as in possession of an open container of alcohol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

Three suspicious persons were reported at the Davita Dialysis Center at 112 Weathersbee Street.

 

A black male subject was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money at the Wendys Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.

 

 

OCTOBER 20, 2014

 

A larceny report was filed at the Southeast Pyrotechnics Warehouse at 11142 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after Alexis Deason reportedly entered the business on Saturday evening asking for money.  When the complainant refused Deason reportedly threw his cell phone against a wall before grabbing his wallet from the sales counter and fleeing the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Two warrant affidavits were filed against Deason who was spotted several hours later by Patrol Officers as she walked behind the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  She was placed under arrest outside of the business and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where, prior to the booking process, she was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine resulting in an additional charge.

 

A white Ford Escort was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle while parked unoccupied at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.

 

A black Buick Rainier was stopped for a signal violation at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community where driver Timothy Anderson was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from numerou failure to pay violations as well as two previous driving under suspension convictions.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was left on scene at the residence.

 

A property damage report was filed at a residence on Woods Court in the Oak Plantation Commons Community after a small dark colored SUV struck a mailbox and then left the area without reporting the collision.

 

A larceny was reported at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway after an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen during a fund raiser dance on Saturday evening.  The dance was disrupted by a male subject who twice had to be escorted out of the building by staff members after causing an uproar among other antendees.  Surveillance footage of the incident is being reviewed for pending charges.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the H&H Furniture Store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, a residence on Bailey Lane and two separate activations at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Office at 407 Live Oak Road.

 

 

OCTOBER 19, 2014

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments in reference to an estranged father coming to the residence without permission.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

 

A suspicious person was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after a male subject previously placed on trespass notice was seen on the property.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at the Jasper County Sheriff's Office at 12008 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a motorist reportedly being followed.

 

 

OCTOBER 18, 2014

 

A 14 year old female juvenile was reported missing after being dropped off by her mother at the Ridgeland High School homecoming game on Friday evening around 7:30 pm.  Savannah Williams lives at a residence on Walsh Drive in Hardeeville and is described as a 14 year old black female last seen wearing black pants and a red sweater with a white undershirt and a white bubble style vest.  She stands approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 130 pounds with her hair last seen pulled up in braids.  Please call 911 if you have any information on Savannah Williams' whereabouts.

 

A welfare check was conducted on an elderly male diabetic subject in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after he reportedly became disoriented and confused.  Officers requested EMS response to the location where the subject was ultimately turned over to a family member.

 

A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A red Ford Fusion was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Dalton Cox, 19 of Stokesdale NC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date before leaving the area.

 

A possible fight was reported in front of the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street, the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway and a residence on Second Avenue.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at the Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street in reference to 2 females arguing in the parking lot.

 

Two suspicious subjects were reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

 

Several subjects were reportedly involved in a large fight at the Ridgeland High School football field at 456 Grays Highway.

 

A reportedly intoxicated Hispanic male was reportedly walking in the roadway in front of the Pizza Hut Restaurant at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

OCTOBER 17, 2014

 

A driver safety checkpoint was conducted at the intersection of Captain Bill and Preacher Road resulting in the following arrests:

 

  • Debbie Spann was found to be operating a white Chevy Tahoe under a suspended South Carolina Driver's license in addition to being listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from an October 1st incident at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

  • Marcos Vazquez was found to be operating a red Ford Windstar van without a valid driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.  Vazquez was previously arrested and charged with no driver's license during an August 19, 2014 traffic stop at North Green and Wilson Street.

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Berkeley County Detention Center in Moncks Corner South Carolina where a hold had been placed on inmate Myles Cox in reference to outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department. Cox's charges stemmed from a December 31, 2011 incident at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street where during his employment he stole money from the lobby register on two separate occassions.  When confronted by Management Cox fled from the motel but was soon after located by Patrol Officers at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a larceny charge.  He was then found guilty in Ridgeland Municipal Court on January 30, 2012 and placed on a time payment plan which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The subject left the area prior to Officers arrival but was soon after located at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.  Talid Rashee Drake, 34 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice for the property of the Siesta Motel without incident.

An incorrigible juvenile was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community after a 16 year old male left the residence violating his 9 pm curfew during an argument with his father and returned later in the evening appearing to be under the influence of alcohol.  The juvenile is currently on probation with the Department of Juvenile Justice and has been petitioned in regards to this incident.

 

A Ford F250 was involved in a single vehicle collision when it struck a deer in the roadway on Bees Creek Road around the Ellis Hodges Road intersection.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

OCTOBER 16, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers received information that two males had exchanged a handgun while walking towards the South State Bank at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and that one of the subjects had entered the bank while the other waited in front of the entrance doors by the walk up ATM.  Officers then converged on the area where Earl Riley III and Trey Garvin were found standing by the ATM with a handgun seen in plain view sticking out of Riley's pants pocket.  Both were detained without incident and the handgun was removed to be processed as evidence.  A check of the serial number showed it to be listed as stolen by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office during a rash of vehicle break ins at the Oldfield Mews Apartment Complex on Highway 170 on September 25th.  Both Riley and Garvin were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the firearm was submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for DNA analysis.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

 

A welfare check was conducted at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue after shouting was heard coming from inside of one of the units.

 

Patrol Officers spoke with a male subject from Virginia who has been living at the Knights Inn Motel in Hardeeville.  The subject stated to Officers that he has recently been having thoughts about harming himself and wished to voluntarily check himself in to a treatment facility.  He was then transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for analysis.

 

A burglary was reported at a residence on North Green Street where a suspect entered the residence through an unlocked window and stole a credit card as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

 

A white Honda Accord was stopped on Rock Road where driver Rachel Nettles, 45 of Ridgeland, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to seven warrants issued against her for financial transaction card fraud.  She was turned over to the custody of Sheriff's Deputies for warrant service and transport to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with Nettles' permission.

OCTOBER 15, 2014

 

A sexual assault was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Road after a 13 year old female was overheard making statements by school officials at the Hardeeville School regarding a sexual encounter with a 23 year old male in Ridgeland.  The incident reportedly took place 3 to 4 weeks prior to being reported.

 

A noise complaint was filed at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street in reference to several subjects smoking and cursing around children playing in the area.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive.

 

Terrance Hill turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department and was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant issued against him.  Hill's charges stemmed from a December 22, 2013 traffic stop at Heron Crossing Apartments where he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date of January 27, 2014 which he failed to appear at resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

 

A Chevy Camaro was involved in a single vehicle collision on West Main Street near the Carters Mill Road intersection when the driver lost control and struck a tree.  The driver was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

 

A burglary was reported at a residence on North Green Street after a personal check was stolen from a desk drawer as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Family Harvest Ministries Church at 7702 West Main Street.

 

A disturbance was reported at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street when a male subject was asked to leave by Management at which point he began making obscene gestures and becoming argumentive.  He ultimately left the property without further incident after being advised that Ridgeland Officers were en route.

 

 

OCTOBER 14, 2014

 

A civil dispute stemming from a recent separation was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

The maintenance shed behind the Ridgeland Alternative School was vandalized sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. with stones thrown through several windows as well as graffiti spray painted on the outside.

 

A welfare check was conducted on an elderly female tenant at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after she was reportedly acting lost and confused.  The subject was found to be traveling with her son from Florida to Pennsylvania after being diagnosed with dementia.

 

A civil dispute was reported at a residence on South Green Street in reference to vehicle repairs.

 

Anthony Gibson was reportedly asking customers and passers by for money in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

OCTOBER 13, 2014

 

Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

 

Patrol Officers discovered Gary Shumpert in front of the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street where he was found to be intoxicated as well as in possession of open containers of alcohol.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to subjects shouting in a neighboring apartment.

 

A complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to numerous subjects loitering in the parking lot.

 

A blue Ford F150 pick up was stopped for speeding on Grays Highway just East on the Ridgeland High School where driver Randy Beane was found to be operating without a driver's license or insurance coverage as well as displaying tags which are not issued or recognized by any state.  Beane refused to cooperate with Officers when ordered to exit the vehicle or provide identification after being told he was under arrest.  He was ultimately taken out of the driver's seat by force where he immediately became combative with the arresting Officers resulting in a Taser being deployed to effect the arrest.  Beane was then transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.  The tags displayed on the vehicle were removed to be used as evidence and ultimately destroyed.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Hagin Drive.

 

Edward Riley Hilderbran, 25 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notiice for the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive at Management's request.  He was escorted off of the business property without incident.

OCTOBER 12, 2014

 

Officers responding to a report of a suspicious male in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard discovered Taurus Maymi between two buildings on the property with a marijuana joint behind his ear.  Maymi immediately became uncooperative with Officers and attempted to pull away and flee while being taken into custody.  He was then ordered numerous times to place his hands behind his back at which point he became combative resulting in a Taser being deployed in order to effect the arrest.  During a search of Maymi's person incident to arrest he was found to be in possession of an additional quantity of marijuana as well as a loaded Glock model 27 .40 caliber hand gun tucked into his waist band.  A check of the hand gun's serial number showed it to be listed as stolen by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.  Taurus Maymi was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A verbal domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Hagin Drive.

 

A disturbance was reported at the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street in refrence to a male subject shouting inside of the store.

 

Silvano Reyna was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center following a shoplifting incident at the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street where he took store items into the business restroom and concealed them in his clothing before leaving the store.  Reyna's charge was enhanced to a felony property crime due to previous convictions on his criminal history.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Barkin' Basement Consignment Store at 10974 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

An armed robbery was reported by the front desk clerk at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive after a black male allegedly entered the business armed with a hand gun and demanded money before fleeing out of the front door.  A K9 was immediately deployed in an attempt to track the suspect, however no scent was detected.  The desk clerk's co-workers stated that they had seen no such event transpire and no persons were seen fleeing from the area.

 

A Chevy Lumina was involved in a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 462 and Knowles Island Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

A property damage report was filed by a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to the complainant's vehicle sustaining damage which is believed to be a result of an unreported October 6th domestic dispute.

 

A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Patrol Officers observed a male and female with a 2 year old child asking passers by and customers for money in front of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.  Ronald Davis and his mother, Faith Karnbach,were both then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Ronald's child was taken into emergency protective custody after two crack pipes were discovered inside of the baby's diaper bag.  The baby's mother, Kelly Davis, remains at the Jasper County Detention Center following her October 7th arrest at the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.  The couple both have an unrelated DSS case pending against them in Beaufort County.

 

Officers responded to two separate activated alarms at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A Buick LeSabre was involved in a single vehicle collision when it struck a deer in the roadway on Highway 462.  No injuries were reported.

 

A suspicious person was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

John Mays was arrested in front of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after walking there from the EZ Stop II BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive where he was observed asking numerous customers and passers by for money.  Mays had been warned by different Officers on three separate occassions to cease panhandling at the EZ Stop over the course of the last month.

 

 

OCTOBER 11, 2014

 

A female victim and her 14 year old daughter were exiting the Baywood neighborhood on Simmonsville Road in Bluffton around 7:00 pm on Thursday evening when a black male approached the vehicle pointing a hand gun ordering her and her daughter out of the vehicle.  A BOLO, (Be On the Look Out), was then issued for the vehicle throughout surrounding counties as it was entered into NCIC as stolen.  The vicitm later contacted Jasper County Dispatch after spotting the vehicle parked at a residence across from the Ridgeland Alternative School on Grays Highway around 1:30 pm Saturday afternoon.  Ridgeland Officers shortly after spotted the vehicle on Captain Bill Road where it was found to be displaying a license plate registered to a 1987 Oldsmobile.  A traffic stop was then initiated on Getsinger Street at which time the driver accelerated in an attempt to evade Officers.  The pursuit then traveled South on Logan Street and the East on Wilson turning behind the Harvey's Grocery Store and ultimately exiting James Taylor Drive turning East on Main Street.  The suspect then turned onto Henry Lawton Road to Firefly and then East on Captain Bill to Fordville Road.  The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle turned onto Bees Creek Road and then Highway 462 where it ran out of gas.  Michael White then exited the driver's seat of the vehicle at which time he was taken into custody without further incident.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle which was shortly after processed by Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Detectives.  Additionally, a hold has been placed on Michael White by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office for extradition to face pending charges related to the carjacking in that jurisdiction.

 

A suspicious male was reported at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.

 

A female subject was reportedly asking customers for money at the Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and son at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.  EMS Personnel were requested after Officers discovered bruising on the mother who had reportedly been pulled out of her room and through the parking lot by her hair. Suspect Michael Robiston was found to be intoxicated and uncooperative at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of public drunk.  The female victim refused to pursue charges in reference to the domestic violence incident.

 

A Buick Encore and a Dodge Journey were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A black Hyundai Sonata was stopped for disregarding a stop sign at the exit 21 South off ramp where driver William Early was found to be in possession of an open container of liquor.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A civil dispute regarding an eviction was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A suspicious male was reported at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

A Ford Mustang was stopped for speeding 101 mph on I-95 South around the 17 mile marker where driver Saad Alalimad was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

 

An assault was reported by a tenant at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street regarding previous threatening statements made by a male subject at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

 

OCTOBER 10, 2014

 

Officers discovered Rashid Flanders at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where he provided a fictitious name during questioning in an attempt to conceal his identity due to him being listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department.  Officers were ultimately able to identify him through photographs and witnesses at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Flanders' charges stem from an October 13, 2013 traffic stop of a white Crown Victoria at the intersection of West Main and Russell Street where he provided Officers with another person's driver's license information in order to evade driving under suspension charges.  His true identity was later revealed through Officer dash cam footage at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Additional charges were filed against him on January 8, 2014 following a domestic dispute in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive where he shoved a female to the ground and began to choke her before fleeing the area after realizing Officers were en route.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.

 

A theft was reported in reference to jewelry stolen from a vehicle at the September Oaks Vineyard at 893 Grays Highway during an event on October 3, 2014.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the H&H Furniture Store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard and the All Childrens Pediatrics Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A white Ford Crown Victoria was stopped for a suspended tag violation in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Talton Mack was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as without valid insurance coverage. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A 7 year old male was reported missing from the ball field area of the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway. Patrol Officers shortly after spotted him in front of the Gretsch Manufacturing Plant at 715 Grays Highway where he was returned to his parents without incident.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the former Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A loitering complaint was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to numerous subjects gathered in the parking lot.

 

A noise complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A burglary was reported at a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street after a suspect entered the home through an unlocked kitchen window and stole a 50" Toshiba television.

 

A white Honda Accord was stopped for an expired tag violation on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Smiths Crossing intersection where driver Jeremy Murphy provided a fictitious name and date of birth in an attempt to evade charges.  After his true identity was revealed Murphy was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with two previous convictions for driving under suspension.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Eric's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

 

OCTOBER 9, 2014

 

A black male armed with a hand gun entered the front lobby of the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive just after 12:00 a.m. and demanded money from the on duty clerk.  The suspect then fled the area on foot running West towards the Blue Heron Nature Trail.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.

 

A York A/C unit was stripped of copper components at a residence on Promise Way sometime during the last week.

 

A welfare check was requested by a third party caller in reference to a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue who may wish to do harm to themselves or others.  The subject requested Officers transport her to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.  She was later transported from that location to the Colleton County Medical Center in Walterboro.

 

An assault between a female and her ex-boyfriend was reported at the Ridgeland School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  The case was turned over to Jasper School Resource Officers.

 

A Dodge van and a Lexus sedan were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Ridgeland Officers transported an Adams Street resident from Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville to the Colleton County Medical Center in Walterboro.  The subject had been transported by EMS Personnel to Hardeeville on October 8th.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A disturbance was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to the caller wanting a female subject to be placed on trespass notice.

OCTOBER 8, 2014

 

A complaint was filed at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street in reference to two males in the parking lot asking customers for money.  As Officers arrived on scene the subjects were observed leaving the property in a silver Pontiac Grand Am identified by the caller.  A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle on I-95 South at the 20 mile marker after store management requested that the subjects be placed on trespass notice for the business property.  Driver Cody Perkins was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the K&L Granite Showroom at 11742 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

A trespassing complaint was filed at a residence on North Green Street in reference to a subject being on the property who was previously placed on trespass notice.

 

A fight was reported in the parking lot of the EZ Stop II Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  All subjects left the area prior to the Officer's arrival.

 

A gold Jeep Wrangler was stopped for a defective equipment violation on Sweet William Road where passenger Joshua Michael-Ryan Schatz provided Officers with a fictitious name and date of birth in an attempt to conceal his identity in reference to three outstanding warrants issued against him by the Ridgeland Police Department stemming from a September 6, 2014 vehicle pursuit on I-95 North.  He was ultimately identified on Sweet William Road by a South Carolina DMV photo at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A white male was reportedly asking passers by for money outside of the Jalisco Tienda Tortilleria at 7790 West Main Street.

 

Leonard Jones was spotted by Patrol Officers in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center in reference to an outstanding warrant stemming from an October 6th theft at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

A report was filed by a resident on First Avenue in reference to a black male attempting to break into a vehicle parked in a driveway.

 

 

OCTOBER 7, 2014

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals Motel at 67 West Woodlawn Street where Evelina Hamilton and Steven Clark were both placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  During the book process Clark was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana resulting in an additional charge.

 

A complaint was filed at a residence on North Green Street in reference to a former landlord reportedly harassing the former tenant.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

:Leonard Jones was captured on surveillance video stealing beer from the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street on the night of October 6th.  He was previously charged with stealing beer from the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard on July 30th as well as the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street and the Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street on August 22nd.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Jones for the October 6th offense.

A theft was reported at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to money taken from the victim's bedroom while she was out of the apartment leaving it unlocked.

 

Officers responded to the Jasper County Mental Health Clinic at 1510 Grays Highway after a pick up order was issued by the Jasper County Probate Judge at the request of clinic staff.  One male subject was transported by Officers to Darlington SC for evaluation and treatment.

 

A suspicious person was reported at a residence on Firefly Drive.

 

A gray Acura TL was stopped at the intersection of West Main and Green Street after Patrol Officers spotted Calletano Cordova-Santibanez behind the wheel. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.  Santibanez's driver's license is known to be under suspension stemming from a February 11, 2014 traffic stop at the intersection of Bees Creek and Grahamville Road which resulted in the SCDMV assigning him a driver's license number which was then suspended for the original violation conviction.  Santibanez was also arrested and charged for the same violation during a September 27, 2014 driver safety checkpoint at the intersection of Sisters Ferry and Wood Duck Street.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked behind a residence on Wise Street where a subject was sleeping behind the wheel.  The vehicle left the area prior to the Officer's arrival.

 

An assault was reported at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after a black male armed with a hand gun demanded money from the victim which was owed from a previous illegal narcotics purchase.  The victim pepper sprayed the male who then punched the victim in the face before he turned and fled the area.

 

A welfare check was conducted at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to a male subject reportedly wanting to do harm to himself.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the former Palms Motel at 10735 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.

 

Kelly Davis was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being observed asking customers for money in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street.

 

 

OCTOBER 6, 2014

 

An assault was reported in reference to an incident that occurred in the area of the Ridgeland fire department on South Railroad Avenue on Saturday night during the Gopher Hill Festival at approximately 10:00 pm where a juvenile male allegedly struck another in the back of the head with a set of brass knuckles.  The mother of the victim transported him to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment where Hospital Staff advised them to file a Police report.  Both the juvenile and his Mother declined pursuing charges.

 

A GMC Yukon was involved in a collision with a deer in the roadway on I-95 North around the 20 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

An incorrigible male juvenile reportedly refused to get into his parent's vehicle at the DSS Offices at 10908 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  He was shortly after located by family members without further incident.

 

Three suspicious subject were reported at Oakridge Trailer Park at 700 North Green Street.

 

Anthony Gibson, 42 of Ridgeland, was reportedly asking customers for money in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  He was ordered to leave the property without incident.

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after Jasper County Deputies identified Charles Murray, 39 of Hardeeville, was inside of the business.  Murray is listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in reference to an outstanding warrant for failure to register as a sex offender 2nd and another for failure to comply with Magistrate's Court ordered payment.  He was placed under arrest by Deputies on scene and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

 

An incorrigible juvenile from a residence on Forrest Avenue was taken by his mother to the Department of Juvenile Justice Office at 1504 Grays Highway where he left without permission.

 

A Honda Accord and a Ford Escape were invovled in a collision at the intersection of Third Avenue and Russell Street.

 

 

 

OCTOBER 5, 2014

 

Officers responded to the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street after a subject riding a red moped left the business without paying for his meal.  While en route Patrol Officers spotted the subject pulling into the Handy Dan's Gulf Station where a traffic stop was initiated. Driver Donald Nettles II was found to be intoxicated as well as operating the moped without a valid moped license at which point he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The Waffle House declined pursuing charges in reference to the initial complaint.

 

A domestic dispute between a mother and son was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive. Neither party wished to pursue charges.

 

A red 2004 Saturn Vue reported stolen out of Berkeley County SC was found parked unoccupied in front of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.  Berkeley County was notified of the recovery and Little T's Towing transported it from the scene.

 

Larry Howard was placed under arrest at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after being captured on store suveillance video stealing store items and walking into the parking lot.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A male subject was reportedly causing a disturbance shouting at children at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue, a residence on East Wilson Street, the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway and a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.

 

 

OCTOBER 4, 2014

 

Two burglaries were reported at separate residences at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street with the suspect entering one apartment through an unlocked back door and the other through a kitchen window.  Cash and electronics were stolen and evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the SLED Forensics Laboratory for analysis.  Footprints leading from both crimes scenes indicates that the suspect walked from door to door of each residence on the back side of the buildings entering whichever ones were found to be unlocked.

 

A Toyota Highlander and a Ford Taurus were involved in a collision at the intersection of Adams Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

An assault was reported on Green Street when a male and female were approached by the father of the female victim's child who began harassing them as they walked to their vehicle. A stick was thrown as they departed the area which struck the female.  Neither victim could determine whether the stick was thrown by the male or one of his friends and no suspects could not be located in the area after the incident.

 

A male subject was assaulted by three females in the parking lot of the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.  No charges were filed as the victim refused to cooperate.

 

A black female was reportedly causing a disturbance by shouting and cursing at employees at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

 

Two male juveniles were reportedly involved in a dispute at the gazebo area on South Railroad Avenue during the Gopher Hill Festival.

 

A report of fireworks being ignited was filed by a resident on Wellington Loop in reference to subjects in the Pittman Farm area adjacent to Wellington.  The subjects were located and advised to cease without incident.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive where ex-employee Africa Latrice Frazier, 39 of Ridgeland, was reportedly shouting and arguing with employees and management.  She was placed on trespass notice and ordered off of the business property without incident.  Frazier is listed as a wanted person by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office in reference to an outstanding fraudulent check warrant which could not be confirmed by that agency at the time of this incident.

An intoxicated subject causing a disturbance while in possession of a firearm was reported at a residence on Malphrus Street.  As Officers arrived on scene they were advised that the subject had just left the area in a gold Ford F150 heading East on Captain Bill Road.  Officers then spotted the vehicle as it turned onto Bees Creek Road where the driver crossed the center line several times.  A traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle continued North on Bees Creek, however the driver failed to stop until turning onto Crabapple Lane as backup Officers arrived on scene.  Driver John Keys Jr. was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol resulting in him being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.  A loaded shotgun was recovered from the front seat of Key's vehicle.

 

A dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to several people parking cars in the complainant's yard while attending a party at a neighboring residence.  The vehicles were moved without incident.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported on the Blue Heron Nature Trail.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at Ken's Tire Service at 10464 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue and two separate activations at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

 

A civil dispute was reported by a vendor on West Main Street at the Gopher Hill Festival after a customer's debit card failed to process.

 

A male subject riding a bicycle on Grays Highway was reportedly struck by a piece of PVC pipe intentionally thrown from a moving vehicle by a subject who owed the victim money from a previous job.  The victim declined pursuing charges.

 

 

OCTOBER 3, 2014

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community where Terrence Moroz was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of criminal domestic violence.

 

Officers responded to a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a complainant accusing a 16 year old male juvenile of stealing a handgun from his residence in the Carters Mill Estates Community during an unreported burglary.  No charges were filed.  The same juvenile has already been named as a suspect in a June 10, 2014 burglary of a residence on Shadetree Street and the April 23, 2014 burglary of the York Telecom Store at 10688 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported on Hagin Drive after several male occupants reportedly shouted profanities at a female outside of her residence.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted South Carolina Highway Patrol with traffic control after a red Dodge pick up was involved in a single vehicle collision in the center median on I-95 North around the 15 mile marker.  The driver was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a male subject attempting to take his child from it's mother. Witnesses were able to stop the subject from taking the child at which point he stole the victim's cell phone before leaving the area in a black vehicle.  Warrant affidavits have been filed against Wenson Marcus Smith, 31 of Hardeeville, charging him with criminal domestic violence and larceny.  Smith is already listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office stemming from an outstanding criminal domestic violence warrant.

Clinton Green was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after being found highly intoxicated in front of the Country Morning Bakery at 7728 West Main Street.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a subject in the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to the complainant being followed by a subject she stated that she owes money to stemming from illegal drug purchases in the Mitchellville area.

 

A gold Toyota Corolla was stopped at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard after Patrol Officers spotted Pamela Garren, who is known to have s suspended South Carolina driver's license, behind the wheel.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

 

OCTOBER 2, 2014

 

Officers responded to Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street where Bernard Garvin was observed by employees and captured on surveillance video stealing store items and placing them inside of a waiting vehicle in the parking lot.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under a felony property crime enhancement charge after reviewing his criminal history.  Information was later received that Garvin had been captured on surveillance video stealing numerous bottles of liquor at the Moonshiners Package Store at 10001 South Jacob Smart Boulevard just prior to the Harveys incident.

 

A Ford F150 pulling a trailer and a Ford 500 sedan were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 21 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Officers reponded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

A disturbance was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street in reference to a male subject possibly striking a 9 year old juvenile.  No charges were filed.

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Charleston County Detention Center where a hold had been placed on inmate Marcus Scott in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department.  He was transferred to RPD custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Scott's charges stem from an April 27, 2014 traffic stop on I-95 North where he was found to be in possession of an open container of beer.  He was cited for the offense and assigned a court date which he failed to appear at resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest on June 30, 2014.

 

A report of possible gunshots was filed at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway and the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

 

 

OCTOBER 1, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies in responding to a residence at the intersection of Captain Bill and Henry Lawton Road after Nathaniel Deon Wright, 30 of Ridgeland, reportedly shot and killed Maurice Wright in the front yard before fleeing in a green Honda Accord.  Nathaniel Wright was then spotted by Deputies on Henry Lawton Road where he refused to stop for Officers resulting in a pursuit which led West on Main Street and then South on Jacob Smart Boulevard.  He then got onto I-95 South at exit 18 reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph as he attempted to run pursuing Officers off of the roadway while continuously throwing narcotics out of the vehicle windows.  The pursuit then u-turned at the 13 mile marker heading North on I-95 back towards Ridgeland where he got off at exit 18 and turned onto Bees Creek Road and ultimately ended when the suspect turned onto Captain Bill Road and was forced to come to a stop in front of the original crime scene where Jasper County Deputies set up a road block.  He was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charges of murder, failure to stop for blue lights and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime as well as one outstanding Family Court bench warrant and one Magistrate's warrant for a failure to appear violation.

A suspicious person was reported on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A Chevy Corvette struck a deer in the roadway on I-95 North around the 18 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

A harassment complaint was filed at a residence on Oakridge South in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community in reference to the complainant's boyfriend's ex-wife.  No charges were filed.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was filed in reference to a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A Toyota Camry and a Ford Taurus were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A red Geo Tracker was stopped on East Adams Street at the South Jacob Smart Boulevard intersection after the tag displayed on the vehicle was found to be registered to a Chrysler Town & Country mini van.  Driver Steven Malphrus was then found to be operating without any valid insurance coverage at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

A Dodge pick up and a Chevy van were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

Officers responded to a fight in progress call at the Star Point BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after several females were reportedly engaged in an argument in the parking lot.  After gathering victim and witness statements and reviewing store surveillance video a warrant affidavit was filed against Debbie Spann, 30 of Ridgeland, charging her with malicious injury to property.
