JULY 24, 2014

 

A red Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Rupin Patel was found to be operating under the influence.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on North Logan Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A hit and run collision was reported at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to a black 2010 Ford Focus allegedly being struck while parked unoccupied in the Harvey's Grocery Store parking lot at 8205 East Main Street around 10 p.m. on July 23rd.  No injuries were reported.

 

Two separate suspicious vehicles were reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A trespassing complaint was filed at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive in reference to several juveniles swimming in the motel pool who were not registered guests.  The subjects left the area without incident.

 

An assault report was filed at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

 

A Ford Explorer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

 

A white female was reportedly standing in front of the South State Bank location at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard harassing passers by.  No charges were filed.

 

A white Toyota Tacoma was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Scott Appleton II was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and hashish oil.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger at his request.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to an eviction process being served on a tenant.

 

A female subject reportedly threatening to do harm to herself was transported by EMS Personnel from her residence on Hagin Drive to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

 

 

JULY 23, 2014

 

A white Nissan Sentra was stopped for an equipment violation on South Jacob Smart Boulevard around the South Green Street intersection where driver Tarrence Smith was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver's license for a failure to appear violation.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Two suspicious persons were reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A larceny was reported at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive in reference to a 14" RS1 Satellite dish.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

 

A property damage report was filed at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to a vehicle window being busted on a white Jeep Cherokee.

 

A lime green "Next" brand bicycle was stolen from a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

 

A silver Volkswagen Passat was stopped for speeding on Old House Road at the Honey Hill Circle intersection where driver Travis Thompson was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver's license for a failure to appear violation.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Webster's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Two suspicious persons were reported at a vacant residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

A report of gunshots was reported in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  Two subjects were seen running into a wooded area towards McCormack Avenue just after.

 

A black male driving a gold Buick LeSabre was reportedly asking customers for money at the Taylor's BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive and the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

 

JULY 22, 2014

 

Officers responded to the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street after a 75 year old male from Bradenton Florida was found dead inside of his room from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.  Numerous items were collected from the scene before being turned over to the Jasper County Coroner's Office.

 

A loud music complaint was filed by a resident at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Heron Crossing Apartments at 73 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

A larceny was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive after a 67 year old female from Bartow Florida mistakenly left her purse inside of her room after staying the night of July 16th.  She then telephoned motel staff the following day who reported that an employee had retrieved the purse and secured it inside the business safe for her to pick up.  The complainant then picked up the purse on today's date and discovered an undisclosed amount of cash missing.  Surveillance footage has been requested for pending charges.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A Honda Odyssey and a Toyota Camry were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A black Jeep Compass was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Katherine Fritz was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Brevard County Florida Sheriff's Office in reference to an outstanding larceny warrant.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center pending extradition to Florida as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with her permission.

 

Two subjects were reportedly arguing in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street. No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 21, 2014

 

A larceny was reported at the R&M Small Engine Service at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  A review of the business security cameras captured Arthur Joseph Fraleigh, 42 of Ridgeland, removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the register on July 19th while employees were occupied with their work. A warrant affidavit is pending against Fraleigh for the charge.

A tractor trailer and a burgundy Lexus were involved in a collision on I-95 North around the 19 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Three females were reportedly attempting to instigate a fight with another female at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to Facebook posts.  Keisha Brown, 22 of Ridgeland, Ashley Bell 24 of Ridgeland and Kayla Kilpatrick, 26 of Ridgeland, were all placed on trespass notice for the complainant's property.  No charges were filed.

 

A harassment report was filed by a resident on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  No charges were filed.

 

A black Volkswagen was reportedly struck by a blue Mercedes on I-95 South which then left the area without reporting the collision.  The driver advised responding Officers that he no longer wished to file a collision report.

 

An assault was reported by a mother in reference to her son at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after two males allegedly brandished a handgun during an argument with him.  The victim refused to cooperate with Officers or provide any information as to the identity of the supsects.

 

A blue Cadillac and a burgundy Chevy Trailblazer were involved in a collision at the intersection of Grahamville and Bees Creek Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A harassment was reported by a resident at Ridge Pointe Apartments at 669 North Green Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A white Chevy Malibu was involved in a collision on I-95 North around the exit 18 area after the driver lost control and struck the center median guard wires.  Both occupants were transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

 

 

JULY 20, 2014

 

A traffic safety checkpoint was conducted by Ridgeland Officers on Sisters Ferry Road where Arlin Acuna-Lopez was found to be operating a white Ford F150 without a valid driver's license while under the influence of alcohol as well as in possession of an open container of beer.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Ridge Pointe Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to Facebook posts.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the All Children's Pediatrics Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South  Logan Street in reference to one party attempting to evict the other.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 19, 2014

 

A gold Nissan Altima was stopped for a turn signal violation at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street where driver Alan Wright was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as under the influence of alcohol and in possession of an open container.  Further investigation revealed that the tag displayed on the vehicle Wright was driving was registered to a Cadillac at which time it was seized to be turned in to the SCDMV.  Wright's driving record revealed that he has two prior convictions for driving under the influence within the last 10 years.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A theft was reported at a residence on North Green Street after a credit card was taken from the victim and used at numerous businesses throughout Ridgeland and the surrounding areas to make purchases totaling several thousand dollars.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Larry Seabrook Malphrus III, 28 of Ridgeland, for the offense of financial transaction card fraud in excess of $2000.

 

A Chevy Equinox and a Hyundai Elantra were involved in a collision on I-95 South around the exit 18 area.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where Deshone Allen was placed under arrest for the charge of criminal domestic violence.  He attempted to resist arrest but was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.  Both he and the complainant were treated on scene by EMS Personnel before he was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

Three suspicious subjects were reported in the parking lot of the Regions Bank location at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Two females were reportedly attempting to instigate a fight at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on Honeycomb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community and the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

 

A blue Toyota Scion was stopped on East Main Street at the Logan Street intersection where passenger Kelvin Anderson was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Allendale County Sheriff's Office.  The warrant was then confirmed and a hold was requested at which time Anderson was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center to await extradition to Allendale County.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A vehicle containing several dogs with no air conditioning or open windows was reported in the parking lot of the Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.

 

A Freightliner tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South at the 17 mile marker truck parking area when the driver lost control.  Two injuries were reported.

 

A suspicious person was reportedly knocking on residence doors at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

Several subjects were reportedly setting off fireworks in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

A large rottweiler reportedly roaming free at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

Two suspicious males reportedly carrying a crowbar were reported at the Pizza Hut Restaurant at 10856 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  The subjects were soon after located and determined to be juveniles at which time they were returned to their parents.

 

 

JULY 18, 2014

 

Patrol Officers approached a suspicious vehicle parked in the Turpin Park area at 901 North Logan Street just after 2 a.m. where two 19 year old males were discovered with two 13 year old females.  Both juveniles were released to the custody of their mothers and juvenile petitions were filed for the charge of incorrigible juvenile which were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

 

A customer's debit card was reported stolen from the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Surveillance footage of the incident is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

 

A suspicious male was reported inside the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisting Jasper County Deputies during a driver safety checkpoint at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Mitchelville Road approached a black Chevrolet pickup bearing an expired South Carolina tag where a loaded Taurus 40 caliber handgun was immediately observed beside driver Chanta Orr's leg.  When Orr was removed from the vehicle in order to collect the weapon she immediately began shouting and cursing and causing a disturbance.  During a search of the vehicle an open container of beer was found resulting in an additional charge against her as well as an open container charge against passenger Michele Gardner.  Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

A suspicious male was reportedly causing a disturbance in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the South Carolina Department of Transportation at 112 East Woodlawn, the Outpost Clothing Store at 10535 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Regions Bank location at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the South States Bank location at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

JULY 17, 2014

 

A welfare check was requested on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street after two children were seen inside of it with no air conditioning and the windows up.  The vehicle left prior to Officer's arrival.

 

A property damage report was filed by a resident at Ridge Pointe Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to a kick plate on an entry door.

 

A noise complaint was filed by a resident on Hagin Drive.  No charges were filed.

 

A gold Mitsubishi Galant reportedly left Taylors BP Statin at 80 Blue Heron Drive without paying for dispensed fuel.  The vehicle was spotted by Patrol Officers on Grays Highway where a traffic stop was conducted and the vehicle then escorted back to the station to pay the fuel bill.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on James Taylor Drive and another at the Handy Dan's Business Office at 7596 West Main Street.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A noise complaint was filed by a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive in reference to several subjects in the parking lot.  No charges were filed.

 

A white Chevy Tahoe reportedly struck a green Toyota Camry in the parking lot of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  Both vehicles then left the property prior to Officer's arrival.

 

A male subject causing a distrubance while armed with a hand gun was reported in the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street.

 

 

JULY 16, 2014

 

A property damage report was filed at the Handy Dan's Exxon Station at 8310 East Main Street after two males entered the business restroom and damaged a section of wall.  The males were soon after located at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street, with a female subject named Jessica Strohmeyer, where they were both found to be intoxicated in the parking lot. The first male subject, identified asShane Kimrey, was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgleand Police Department stemming from a domestic violence charge on November 1, 2013 where he was arrested following an incident on Wise Street.  He was found guilty of the charge in Ridgeland Municipal Court on November 18, 2013 and placed on a time payment plan to settle the Court ordered fines which he failed to comply with resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.  The second male subject, identified as Christopher Kimrey, and the female subject, Jessica Strohmeyer, were both found to be listed as wanted persons by the Pike County Indiana Sheriff's Office in reference to outstanding felony forgery warrants at which time they were both placed under arrest.  Christopher Kimrey attempted to resist arrest resulting in a short struggle with Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Deputies but was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.  All three were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under various charges pending extradition back to Indiana.

 

An assault was reported at a residence on East Wilson Street in reference to a 12 year old male juvenile being assaulted by an adult male.  Ali Suarez was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A Chrysler 300 and a Ford Explorer were involved in a collision in front of the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.

 

Ridgeland Officers responded to a request for assistance from Jasper County Deputies at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street in reference to a domestic dispute in the parking lot.  Gussie Goldwire Jr., 32 of Garnett SC, was taken into custody by Deputies and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center under the charge of public disorderly conduct.

A tackle bag and a cooler were reported stolen during the overnight hours from the rear bed of a blue Mazda pickup parked at Scott's Automotive at 495 South Green Street.

 

A welfare check was requested on a male subject at Schooner's Bar & Grill at 10953 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A silver Chevy Malibu was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Jeffrey Cox was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license for a failure to pay traffic ticket violation.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

 

A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

 

A shoplifitng incident was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street after a male and female subject reportedly entered the store and attempted to remove numerous items from store by concealing it underneath the male's clothing as the female subject distracted store employees.  Leonard Brown, 30 of Ridgeland SC, was later placed on trespass notice for the business property at Management's request.

Officers responded to activated alarms at the American Car Care Auto Body shop at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the SCDMV branch at 348 Live Oak Road.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on North Jasper Street.

 

A report of a tire coming off of a tractor trailer and striking another was filed on I-95 South around the 19 mile marker.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

JULY 15, 2014

 

A black Ford Escape was stopped for not having a tag on West Main Street at the Church Street intersection where driver Jocelyn Tillman was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license stemming from three unpaid traffic ticket violations.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Patrol Officers discovered an open door on a vacant residence on Newlin Drive.  The building was cleared and secured without incident.

 

Several suspicious subjects were reported at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

 

A company owned vehicle was reportedly damaged in a possible attempted break in at the Carquest Auto Parts Store at 11059 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No items were reported missing.

 

A possibly intoxicated male subject was reportedly urinating outdoors on Wise Street.

 

A welfare check was requested in reference to a female at Ridge Pointe Apartments at 669 North Green Street.

 

A Kenworth log truck and a Sterling dump truck were involved in a collision on Nuna Rock Road.  One subject was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment.

     

 

A property damage report was filed by a resident on Malphrus Street in reference to a white Buick being dented sometime during the overnight hours.

 

A handgun was discovered in a vacant room at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street which was found to have been mistakenly left by the former tenant.

 

A suspicious person was reported standing in front of the door after 2:00 am at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 456 Grays Highway.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 14, 2014

 

A report was received in reference to a vehicle with two occupants being fired at several times in the Wagon Branch Community Center area by two males driving a black Chevy Impala seen heading towards Ridgeland. Patrol Officers then spotted the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where four occupants were detained as back up Officers and Jasper County Deputies arrived on scene.  Glenn Decosta, 24 of Seabrook, and Charles Perry, 24 of Ridgeland, were ultimately placed under arrest by Jasper County Deputies, each being charged with two counts of attempted murder.  Three of the vehicle occupants are currently out on bond for numerous charges, including attempted murder, stemming from a February 18, 2014 shooting at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community which ended in a foot pursuit and two stolen hand guns being recovered.  They had each appeared at General Sessions roll call in reference to those previous charges just prior to the Wagon Branch shooting on today's date.  The fourth occupant, Charles Perry, was involved in a shooting incident with one of the Wagon Branch victims at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street approximately 3 hours prior to the February 18th Carters Mill shooting.

A suspicious vehicle was reported a the Jasper County Council on Aging at 444 Wise Street.

 

A larceny report was filed at Smith's Auto Body at 195 South Green Street in reference to a vehicle in the impound lot being broken into with several tools being stolen as well as a quantity of fuel.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard. 

 

A larceny report was filed at the Boat & RV Megastore at 401 Sycamore Drive in reference to a quantity of cash missing from a business safe.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

Merissa Rivers turned herself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department at 1 Town Square in reference to breach of trust warrant being issued against her stemming from an incident at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

An Xbox One gaming console was reported stolen from a residence on East Adams Street.

 

Suspicious lights were reported after business hours inside of the DaVita Dialysis center at 112 Weathersbee Street.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street.

 

A welfare check was requested on a mental health patient at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.

 

 

JULY 13, 2014

 

A silver Ford Focus was stopped in the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station in refrerence to the occupants reportedly engaging in a fight in the parking lot of the Taylor's BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive just prior.  The driver of the vehicle, 19 year old Kelsie Debyle, was found to be operating under the influence as well as having an open container of liquor in her possession.  While speaking with Debyle, her fiance Kyle Gearheart apprached on foot after having fled from her and passenger Rebecca Sanders during the fight at the BP Station.  Gearheart was found to have numerous scratches on him which he sustained during the fight and stated that the alcohol inside of the vehicle, including a cooler in the backseat with several open containers, all belonged to him.  While speaking with Gearheart and Debyle, passenger Rebecca Sanders began cursing and shouting in the parking lot of the Gulf Station despite several warnings to stop.  All three subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on West Wilson Street and another at the Glover Realty Office at 835 Glover Road.

 

A Mitsubishi SUV was involved in a single vehicle collision when the driver lost control while driving on Glover Road resulting in the vehicle overturning.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

Officers responded to a complainant at a residence on Hagin Drive in reference to a domestic dispute that had just occurred at a residence on Grays Highway.  After collecting statements and photographing evidence Officers traveled to the residence on Grays Highway where Joseph Nettles was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Nettles has three previous convictions for criminal domestic violence.

 

A Toyota Camry and a Ford F150 were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Ridgeland Coin Laundry at 10246 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

JULY 12, 2014

 

A red Dodge Charger was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Mekayell Payton was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver's license for failure to appear in court violations.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

A suspicious subject reportedly beating on tenant's doors was reported at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.

 

A male juvenile reportedly prank calling 911 was discovered in a wooded area behind his residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  He was turned over to the custody of his father with no charges filed.

 

Officers responded to the New Hong Kong Restaurant at 8176 East Main Street after a report of an argument between a customer and staff members was received.  Jerrod Spann, 36 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice for the business at the Manager's request.

A white Dodge pick up was stopped on I-95 South after numerous 911 calls were received in reference to a road rage incident involving the Dodge and another vehicle which ended at the Exxon Station at exit 28 after one of the subjects threatened the other with a baseball bat.  The driver of the Dodge, Jeffrey Keith, was found to be in possession of an open container of beer as well as a small baseball bat by his leg in plain view. During a safety pat down he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a quantity of marijuana inside of the vehicle.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Oakridge North in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.  No charges were filed.

 

A property damage report was filed by a resident of Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street in reference to a Chevy pick up sustaining damage to the hood during the overnight hours.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 8225 East Main Street and the Grayco Lumber & Hardware Store at 119 Industrial Park Road.

 

Suspicious lights were reported during the overnight hours inside the Ridgeland Alternative School at 913 Grays Highway.

 

A 911 call was received from a subject who identified himself as a mental health patient requiring medication.  After the subject failed to provide his location Officers traveled to the Taylors BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive and the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street in reference to GPS coordinates listed on the 911 call but were unable to locate any such person or witnesses.

 

A possible domestic dispute was reported in reference to a residence on Wiley Street after a female subject was heard screaming.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 11, 2014

 

A property damage report was filed by a subject at Ridge Pointe Apartments at 669 North Green Street in reference to a  previously unreported domestic dispute at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.  The victim reported that while she was collecting personal belongings from the apartment on July 6, 2014 a family member cut one of her vehicle tires during an argument.  She further stated that on today's date she was assaulted by the same family member in the Mitchelville area but refused to wait for a Jasper County Deputy to report the incident.  No charges were filed.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

 

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Beaufort County Detention Center at 100 Ribaut Road in Beaufort where a hold had been placed on inmate Rohaime Hopkins in reference to an outstanding warrant with the Ridgeland Police Department.  Hopkins was charged following a domestic dispute on June 18, 2014 at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.  He was transported back to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

Officers responded to a activated alarms at the Coastal Medical Associates Office at 10911 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and the Ridgeland Physical Therapy Office at 8225 East Main Street.

 

A larceny report was filed in reference to diesel fuel being stolen from a generator at 407 Firefly Drive.

 

A report of illegal drug activity was received in reference to several male subjects in a vehicle at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.

 

A report of a suspicious vehicle following another was received in reference to a white Pontiac Grand Prix and a blue Jeep Cherokee.  The vehicles ultimately stopped at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Dispatcher's request where the driver of the Jeep reported that their vehicle had been struck by the Pontiac while on Deloss Point Road.  South Carolina Highway Patrol Officers responded to file a collision report and one subject was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Jasper County Mental Health Department at 1510 Grays Highway.

 

A welfare check was requested by a concerned tenant at the Siesta Motel at 10530 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a child screaming.  Officers discovered that the juvenile had accidentally hurt a finger in a door.

 

A 16 year old male juvenile was transported from the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia to the term of Family Court at the Jasper County Courthouse in reference to the January 22, 2014 burglary and motor vehicle theft at the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway which resulted in a stolen vehicle pursuit by Port Royal Officers, Beaufort County Sheriff's Deputies and United States Marine Military Police.  He was found guilty of the charges and released to the custody of his mother.  The same juvenile, along with co-defendants, was previously found guilty of the same charges at the same location after breaking into the Alternative School and the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club on June 7, 2012 and again on June 10, 2012 causing thousands of dollars in damage as well as two stolen school district vehicles.  He also fled from Officers attempting to take him into custody at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street on February 27, 2014.

 

A report of juveniles throwing rocks at windows was received from a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  No charges were filed.

 

A male driving a white Chevy Tahoe with temporary tags was reportedly displaying a hand gun at the intersection of East Main Street and South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

 

JULY 10, 2014

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A property damage report was filed at Wright Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue in reference to a church owned vehicle leaking fuel.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A black Mazda 3 was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where passenger Derrick Corporan, 27 of Orlando FL, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  He was escorted to the Clerk of Court's Office where he paid a fine for the offense of simple possession.

 

Two black beach cruiser type bicycles were reported stolen from a residence on Promise Way.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a tenant at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

Three males were reportedly refusing to leave the property of a residence on North Green Street despite being told to leave by the homeowner.  The subjects left the area without further incident when Officers were dispatched.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at two residences on Newlin Drive.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a motorist on Grays Highway in reference to being followed by another vehicle.  No charges were filed.

 

A welfare check was requested by a concerned party at a residence on First Avenue.

 

Two dogs were reported left inside of a vehicle with no open windows or air conditioning in the parking lot of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 9, 2014

 

A South Carolina tag reported stolen to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office from a residence on Bee's Creek Road on June 8, 2014 was found attached to an unoccupied white 2000 Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot of the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

 

A property damage report was filed by a resident on McCormack Avenue after a male subject allegedly threw a rock through a window on the home.  No charges were filed.

 

A male subject previously arrested for a criminal domestic violence charge who is currently under a no contact order with the victim as a condition of his bond was reportedly inside of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where the victim is employed.  The male subject didn't attempt to speak to the victim and left the business upon seeing her there.  No charges were filed.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A dog was found locked inside of a vehicle with no open windows or air conditioning in the parking lot of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A purse containing cash, a cell phone and identification was accidentally left on a shopping cart at Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.  The victim was able to ping the cell phone with an installed phone tracker app at which time it was discovered along with the purse inside of a 1999 blue Honday Odyssey van at a residence on Wright Road.  The victim claimed her property; however, $32 in cash was reported stolen.  No charges were filed at the victim's request.

 

An intoxicated male subject was reportedly asking customers for money at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Badcock Furniture at 10213 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street and the Jasper County Solicitor's Office at 198 Second Avenue.

 

 

JULY 8, 2014

 

A white male subject was caught by a homeowner rummaging through their Pontiac Torrent at a residence on Fifth Avenue.  The suspect then fled the area and was picked up by a dark colored SUV traveling towards Grays Highway.

 

A domestic dispute between a male and female roommate was reported at a residence on North Green Street in reference to personal property inside of the home.  No charges were filed.

 

Patrol Officers spotted a white Honda Accord parked in the football field area behind the Ridgeland Alternative School at 456 Grays Highway where Dentzel Mitchell was found to be listed as a wanted person by the Ridgeland Police Department at which time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  Mitchell's original charges stemmed from a traffic stop on South Jacob Smart Boulevard on September 28, 2012 where he was cited for minor in possession of beer and open container.  He was then found guilty of both charges in Ridgeland Municipal Court on October 29, 2012 and assigned to a term of Community Service which he failed to comply with resulting in warrants being issued for his arrest on March 25, 2013.

 

A Chevy Impala was rear ended by a Buick SUV in the drive thru lane of the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

 

A larceny report was filed at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street after former employee Merissa Rivers, 33 of Ridgeland, was captured on surveillance video allowing items to leave the store without being paid for.  A breach of trust warrant was later issued for her arrest.

A property damage report was filed at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to a vehicle allegedly being struck by a shopping cart in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard resulting in a cracked tail light.

 

A Toyota Camry was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South around the 22 mile marker after the driver lost control striking the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Regions Bank at 11004 North Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Lovely Hill Baptist Church at 596 North Logan Street and the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

Two vehicles were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No injuries were reported.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at a residence on Captain Bill Road after a male subject called 911 reporting that someone was trying to harm him. Officers attempting to locate witnesses discovered Antwan Drake, 26 of Ridgeland, to be listed as a wanted person by the Hardeeville Police Department for an outstanding criminal domestic violence charge.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The original 911 caller was determined to be acting under the influence and was treated by EMS Personnel.

 

Several dogs were reportedly running loose in the Oakridge Trailer Park Community.

 

A welfare check was requested by a concerned party in reference to a female employee at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street after she was not heard from for an extended period of time.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on Weathersbee Street.

 

A wallet was reported missing from inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after the vehicle owner and a female observed a white male inside of it.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 7, 2014

 

A female juvenile was reported missing from a residence on Wiley Street after failing to return home from a friend's house.  Officers began searching the surrounding area during which time the juvenile ultimately returned home stating that she had walked to another friend's home without notifying her stepmother.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported across from the Goodwill Store at 10750 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress involving a large knife in the parking lot of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where a male victim was found to have a laceration to his hand as well as several torn areas of his shirt and another laceration on his chest.  Statements and evidence were then collected ultimately resulting in Frankie Patterson being placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.  The victim was transported by EMS Personnel to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for treatment of his injuries.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street.

 

A 911 call was received from a male subject on East Main Street reporting that someone had stolen money from him.  The caller refused to provide his name or any suspect information to Dispatchers.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at GJ's Cars at 10074 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A welfare check was requested by a concerned relative in reference to a female at a residence on First Avenue.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on Hagin Drive and another at the Wrigth Directions Family Services Center at 60 South Railroad Avenue.

 

 

JULY 6, 2014

 

A white Ford Taurus was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Howard Meuse was found to be operating under a suspended New York driver's licene for failure to appear in court violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger with his permission.

 

A Chevy Avalanche and a Honda Accord were involved in a collision on I-95 North.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

A report of illegal drug activity and gambling was filed at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to several males behind one of the compolex buildings.  No charges were filed.

 

A domestic dispute between a male and female customer was reported at the Wendy's Restaurant at 8480 Grahamville Road.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 5, 2014

 

Ridgeland Officers and Jasper County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Mitchelville Road where Derrick Edwards was found operating a gray Nissan Maxima with a quantity of marijuana in plain view.  A search of the vehicle revealed additional marijuana in different areas packaged for distribution as well as a Kel-Tech 9mm which was found to be listed as stolen out of Beaufort County.  Edwards and his passenger, Jabari Bostick, were both placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A gold GMC Envoy reportedly struck a silver Toyota Avalon in the parking lot of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street and then left the area without reporting the collision.  The driver of the Avalon declined filing a collision report.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on East Wilson Street where one subject was found to have sustained a laceration which he was treated for on scene by EMS Personnel.  Sandra Quarterman was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A Honda Odyssey was rear ended by a Toyota Rav 4 in the parking lot of the McDonald's Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

A white Dodge Challenger was stopped for reckless driving on Bee's Creek Road where driver Dietrick Salters was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Sisters Ferry Road.  No charges were filed.

 

A white Pontiac Grand Am was stopped for nuerous moving violations on Old House Road at the Pine Barren intersection were driver Michael Horton was found to be operating under the influence.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A Dodge Caliber was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 South when the driver lost control between the exit 22 off ramp and on ramp.  No injuries were reported.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on Live Oak Road, another on Rosa Lee Wright Lane and Aussie Auto Body at 1010 West Adams Street.

 

A domestic dispute was reported between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a residence on Hagin Drive when the male party reportedly took her black Toyota Camry without her permission.  The vehiicle was soon after returned without further incident.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 4, 2014

 

A black Nissan Altima was stopped for an equipment violation at the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Destiny Bush was found to be operating under a South Carolina beginner's permit without a license driver in the vehicle with her in addition to having an open container of beer in her possession.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as A-1 Towing took possession of the vehicle  Bush was cited and released for the same beginner's permit offense during a traffic stop on July 3rd and warned not to violate the permit restrictions. 

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.

 

A civil dispute was reported at a residence on East Adams Street in reference to recently vacated tenants causing large amounts of damage to the property.

 

A complaint was received of juvenile lighting fireworks in the roadway in front of the Burger King Restaurant at 8257 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on North Railroad Avenue and another at a residence on Newlin Drive.

 

An open door was discovered after closing at the El Ranchito Restaurant at 11382 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

Officers responding to a report of a fight in progress at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street observed one of the suspect parties exiting the Waffle House in a white Mazda 3 and immediately turning into the parking lot of the Handy Dan's Gulf Station at 8250 East Main Street. Driver Tony Singleton then exited the vehicle and began walking away from the Officer who ultimately detained him without further incident behind the Handy Dan's store.  Singleton was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with a previous conviction for driving under suspension in addition to being listed as a wanted person by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger at his request.

 

A small unknown chemical spill occurred in the Waffle House parking lot at 8185 East Main Street affecting traffic flow for a short time.

 

A complaint of a spent firework landing on a front porch was filed by a resident on North Green Street.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

A black Chevy Tahoe was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Kayce Argoe, 23 of Swansea SC, was found to be operating under a suspended tag in addition to having no valid insurance coverage.  She was cited for the offenses and assigned a court date before being released as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community in reference to an estranged husband being at the residence without permission attempting to gather household items.  No charges were filed.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.

 

A gray Chrysler and a burgundy Buick were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.  Both parties declined filing a collision report and agreed to settle the matter civilly.

 

 

JULY 3, 2014

 

A male suspect was captured on surveillance video burglarizing the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where he gained entry by breaking through a rear wall and then attempted, unsuccesfully, to drag the store safe out of the business. 

 

 

A property damage report was filed at the Pizza Bella Restaurant at 8196 East Main Street after the door of a Honda Accord struck the side of a Subaru Impreza in the next parking space.  No injuries were reported.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Subway Restaurant at 8234 East Main Street.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard, the Ridgelad Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway, the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway, the All Childrens Pediatric Clinic at 10962 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Quality Dry Cleaners Store at 7709 West Main Street.

 

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on East Wilson Street in reference to one of the parties involved attempting to retrive personal items.  No charges were filed.

 

An incorrigible female juvenile missing from a neighboring jurisdiction was reported to have been possibly seen at the Carolina Lodge Motel at 8260 East Main Street. 

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Ridgeland Weekly Rentals at 67 West Woodlawn Street.

 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Plantation Inn Motel at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 2, 2014

 

A red Saturn passenger car was stopped for an expired tag violation on North Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Highway 278 intersection where driver Kimely Rivers was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as well as with no valid insurance coverage.  In addition, the tag displayed on the vehicle was found to have been altered to show a difference expiration month.  Rivers was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

 

A domestic dispute between an estranged husband and wife was reported at a residence on Grays Highway in refrence to an incident that occurred just prior on Second Avenue.  No charges were filed.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at a residence on Fifth Avenue and the Palmetto Veterinary Clinic at 409 South Green Street.

 

A Honda Civic was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North where it struck the center median guard wires.  No injuries were reported.

 

Rodney Wright turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers at the Ridgeland Police Department in reference to two outstanding warrants.  Wright was originally arrested and charged with no driver's license and driving under the influence when he collided his Valero moped with a Volvo S40 on May 24, 2014 at the intersection of Main Street and Jacob Smart Boulevard.  He then failed to appear in court to answer for the charges on June 30, 2014 where he was found guilty in his absence and two warrants were issued for his arrest.

 

A mental health patient reportedly wanting to do harm to themselves was reported at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.  The subject was then transported by Ridgeland Officers to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

 

An argument between two residents on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community resulted in both parties and their children being served with trespass notices for each respective residence at their request.

 

An assault report was filed at Taylors BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to a male on a bicycle reportedly harassing the complainant just prior at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  No charges were filed.

 

 

JULY 1, 2014

 

A report of an attempted burglary was filed by a resident on North Green Street after a security chain on the entry door was found damaged.  No items were reported missing.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of the Fiddler's Seafood Restaurant at 7738 West Main Street.

 

Eddie Flint was found lying in the roadway on Nuna Rock Road having fallen off of his bicycle due to being intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

A suspicious person was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

 

A civil dispute was reported at the Taylors BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

 

A Hispanic female was captured on surveillance video removing a shopping cart of groceries and a cell phone from the Harvey's Grocery Store which had been purchased by another customer who was speaking with a store employee at the deli counter.  Charges are pending identification of the Hispanic female.

 

Officers responded to activated alarms at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway, the SCDMV Office at 348 Live Oak Road and a residence on North Green Street.

 

Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute at a residence on Honey Comb Lane in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.  No charges were filed.
