OCTOBER 31, 2013

A report of child neglect was received in reference to a residence on Captain Bill Road.  This case has been forwarded to the Department of Social Services for investigation.

Several suspicious subjects were reportedly running into traffic at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at R&M Small Engine Repair at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A harassment complaint was filed at the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

Two suspicious vehicles were reported in the parking lot of the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.

Edward Hilderbran and Alexis Deason were both placed under arrest at the Ridgeland Cemetery after Officers discovered them sitting on a bench with discarded drug paraphernalia.  Both were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

An abandoned animal was reported at a residence on North Green Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the SCDMV Office at 348 Live Oak Road.

 

OCTOBER 30, 2013

Lavonna Bryson was placed under arrest at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a warrant being issued after she was captured on surveillance video committing a larceny out of a co-worker's vehicle on October 23rd.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

An animal complaint was filed by a resident on Smiths Crossing in reference to a neighbors dog.  No charges were filed.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Fiddlers Seafood at 7738 West Main Street.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute between two roommates at a residence on Promise Way.  No charges were filed.

A parked Freightliner tractor trailer was struck by a second Freightliner in the truck parking area on I-95 South.  No injuries were reported.

A trespassing and assault complaint was filed by a resident on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

 

OCTOBER 29, 2013

A white Chevy Colorado pickup was stopped for moving violations at the intersection of Malphrus and North Green Street where driver Lisa Schutt was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was turned over to the registered owner.

An assault occurred at a residence on North Green Street where the victim was struck in the face causing a laceration.  A warrant affidavit was later filed against Henry Spann, 32 of Ridgeland, for the charge of assault & battery 3rd.

A report of two people possibly involved in a fight was reported in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.

 

OCTOBER 28, 2013

A silver Dodge Ram pickup was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Emiliano Apolonio-Vazquez was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver's license for failure to pay violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to  his passenger who was listed as the registered owner.

Several suspicious subjects were reported loitering outside of a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Estates Community.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the SCE&G business office at 11323 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where an A/C unit had been pushed in by a suspect who then entered the building.  Evidence collected at the scene has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis and suspect identification.

A waste disposal truck reportedly struck a parked vehicle on East Main Street.

An assault was reported at a residence at Heron Crossing Apartments.  No charges were filed.

A Chevy Malibu and an Impala were involved in a collision on I-95 South.  No injuries were reported.

   

A harassment complaint was filed at Taylor's BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to a mother telling a subject to stay away from her son.  No charges were filed.

Ridgeland Officers traveled to the Orangeburg County Detention Center where a hold had been placed on inmate Kenyae Robinson in reference to two outstanding warrants issued by the Ridgeland Police Department for failure to appear in court violations on minor in possession of alcohol and open container charges from a traffic stop on February 13, 2013.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Grayco Lumber at 119 Industrial Park Road.

A discarded bank deposit bag was found beside the roadway on South Green Street in front of the Palmetto Veterinary Clinic.

 

OCTOBER 27, 2013

A silver Chevy Equinox was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Lisa Ealey was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver's license for a failure to appear in court violation.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was released to her passenger who was listed as the registered owner.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Dollar General Store at 8123 East Main Street.

A harassment complaint was filed at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street in reference to a subject blocking the complainants vehicle.  No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at Sauls Funeral Home at 500 West Adams Street.

A Hyundai Sonata was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Jibril Reynolds was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana in addition to operating under a suspended New Jersey driver's license for a failure to appear violation.  Passenger Norman Daniels was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana at which time both men were placed under arrest.  They were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Cleland's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

A suspicious person was reported at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

Officers responded to an assault at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  No charges were filed.

 

OCTOBER 26, 2013

Juanita Patrum was placed under arrest for public drunk on North Jacob Smart Boulevard in front of Ned's Pub & Grub after Officers received complaints that she was attempting to gain entry into closed businesses.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Wiley Street.

A report of gunshots in the Green Acres/Oak Hill area was received from a resident of Bees Creek Plantation.

A Ford F150 and a GMC Sierra were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 17 and Smiths Crossing.  No injuries were reported.

 

An attempted larceny was reported at the Brothers Tire Shop at 9595 South Jacob Smart Boulevard in reference to a customer refusing to pay.  No charges were filed.

An animal complaint was filed at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street in reference to a dog going in and out of the business.  The animal's owners were located and advised to keep the dog on their property.

 

OCTOBER 25, 2013

Officers responded to 2 separate activated alarms at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

A suspicious person was reported behind a residence on North Logan Street.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

An incorrigible juvenile was reported at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Honeycomb Court in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

 

OCTOBER 24, 2013

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club at 913 Grays Highway.

A larceny was reported at the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street where a patron allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money from an employee.  Charges are pending review of the surveillance video.

A suspicious person was reported behind the Jasper County Magistrate's Office at 967 West Adams Street.

Officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious person at the Shell Station parking lot at 8309 East Main Street where Devin Swinton was found to be in possession of a loaded 45 caliber handgun.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

OCTOBER 23, 2013

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen from a parked vehicle at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road. Charges are pending review of surveillance footage collected.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Promise Way.  No charges were filed.

A larceny was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street between two acquaintances.  One subject accused another of removing cash from her wallet which has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis and pending charges.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates where Ignacio Cruz-Hernandez was placed under arrest and charged with criminal domestic violence 2nd offense.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on Second Avenue which was later determined to be a SCE&G utility truck performing maintenance.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Bank of Walterboro at 8058 East Main Street.

 

OCTOBER 22, 2013

A shoplifting incident was reported at the Family Dollar Store at 73 South Green Street in which the suspect stole a set of bedsheets and then fled into a wooded area behind the store.  Surveillance footage of the incident is being reviewed for suspect identification and pending charges.

A forgery complaint was filed at a residence on East Adams Street regarding an electric power service agreement with SCE&G.

An incorrigible juvenile complaint was filed by a resident at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue.

Two Ford F-150s were involved in a collision on Bees Creek Road by the New Road Baptist Church.  No injuries were reported.

 

Ridgeland Officers assisted Jasper County Deputies at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail where a fight occurred between several students.

 

OCTOBER 21, 2013

An incorrigible juvenile was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  The incident was forwarded to the Jasper County Department of Juvenile Justice Office.

A report of threats being made was filed by a subject at the Short Stop BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A purse was reported stolen from a residence at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.

Tina Hatchell was placed under arrest at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street after being seen by Officers throwing an open container of alcohol onto the ground.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

 

OCTOBER 20, 2013

A gray Nissan Sentra was stopped for an equipment violation on Highway 17 in front of Club Pluto at 8812 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where passenger Sakeim Jaywon Scott-Burrison was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana, an open container of alcohol and a loaded 38 caliber handgun.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as driver Antwan Brown, 18 of Ridgeland, was cited for the equipment violation and allowed to leave with the vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Jaspers Porch Restaurant at 153 James Taylor Drive.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the American Car Care Center at 11263 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A silver Infiniti Q35 was stopped on Highway 17 for an operating with high beams into oncoming traffic.  The vehicle pulled into the Club Pluto parking lot at which time the front seat passenger opened the door and fled running behind the business where he was taken into custody by pursuing Officers as the suspect vehicle driver fled in a separate direction. Ezekiel David Dunham was charged and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center after refusing to provide Officers with his name or date of birth as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Main Street Pharmacy at 7752 West Main Street.

A resident on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community was bitten by an American Bulldog while trying to stop a fight between the dog and her own.  The owner of the dog provided a current vaccination record for the animal and the report was forwarded to DHEC, (Department of Health & Environmental Control).  No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Eleanor Avenue.

A missing juvenile was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive who returned to his parents a short time later.  No charges were filed.

 

OCTOBER 19, 2013

Ridgeland Officers assisted Hardeeville Police and Jasper County Deputies in a vehicle pursuit originating at the Star Point convenience store in Hardeeville where Lamar Brandon Truesdale, 32 of Savannah GA, was reportedly shoplifting and making threats before leaving in a gray Honda Pilot which had been reported stolen out of Georgia.  When Hardeeville Officers attempted to stop him he accelerated resulting in a pursuit which traveled North on Highway 17 thru Ridgeland and onto I-95 North where he ultimately struck a Jasper County Deputy's vehicle around the 30 mile marker.  Truesdale then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly captured and placed under arrest under the charges of shoplifting, possession of stolen vehicle, failure to stop for blue lights & malicious injury to property.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Cleland's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.  One Jasper County Deputy was transported by EMS personnel to Savannah Memorial for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

LAMAR TRUESDALE

A suspicious person was reported at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Colony Drive in the Bees Creek Plantation Community.

A tan Ford pickup and a red Dodge minivan were involved in a collision at the exit 18 I-95 South on ramp.  No injuries were reported.

    

A loud music complaint was filed by a resident on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates Community.  No charges were filed.

 

OCTOBER 18, 2013

A Toyota and a Chevy were involved in a collision at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.  No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at C&C Millwork at 119 Industrial Park Road.

 

OCTOBER 17, 2013

A shoplifting incident occurred at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 10424 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where a suspect stole a $24 container of anti-freeze.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A trespassing complaint was filed by a resident on Captain Bill Road.  No charges were filed.

 

OCTOBER 16, 2013

Officers responded to the parking lot of Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where two men were reportedly fighting over a handgun.  Once on scene Harry Murdaugh was placed under arrest after being found to be intoxicated behind one of the buildings and being identified as one of the men involved.  Witnesses and residents of Logan Lane were uncooperative and refused to provide Officers with any information about the incident.  Murdaugh confirmed that he had been fighting a male who had pointed a pistol at his face in the parking lot.  When asked who the male with the gun was Murdaugh stated that he knows the man's identity but refused to provide Officers with any information or assist in any way.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A syringe was discovered at the Taylors BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.  Officers collected the item and turned it over to evidence.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

A harassment complaint was filed at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street in reference to a female following another inside the Post Office cursing and threatening her. No charges were filed and the victim was given the steps to seek a restraining order.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Plantation Inn at 11433 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

A suspicious person was reported to be selling tools out of a vehicle at Harveys Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

A report of an open door on an unoccupied residence was received in reference to a home on Second Avenue.

 

OCTOBER 15, 2013

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Promise Way where the victim refused to pursue charges and requested an escort to gather personal belongings.

A ladder and a white canoe were stolen from the rear storage area of the Hargray building at 100 Railroad Avenue.

A pick up order was issued by the Jasper County Probate Office in reference to a subject needing drug and alcohol abuse counseling.  Officers transported the subject from the Probation & Parole Office at 214 Second Avenue to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville for evaluation.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

A bb gun was found lying on the ground behind the Lovely Hills Baptist Church at 204 South Logan Street.

 

OCTOBER 14, 2013

A resident on South Logan Street reported that he was beaten and robbed by 3 males around the South Logan Street and Adams Street intersection.  The suspects fled towards Logan Lane Apartments with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Brandon Cove in the North Ridge Community.

Catina Aiken was reported at a residence in the North Ridge Community where she had been previously placed on trespass notice.  No charges were filed.

CATINA AIKEN

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Shadetree Street in the Carters Mill Community.  No charges were filed.

A Peterbilt tractor-trailer struck a deer on I-95 North.  No injuries were reported.

A suspicious person was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 8225 East Main Street.

 

OCTOBER 13, 2013

A silver Ford Fusion was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Alfredo Cesar Chavarria was found to be operating under a suspended North Carolina driver's license stemming from a previous DUI conviction.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was turned over to his passenger who was the registered owner.

A black BMW was involved in a single vehicle collision on I-95 North when the driver pulled over to the side of the road to rest but failed to put the vehicle in park at which time it rolled in a wooded area.  No injuries were reported.

A black Kawasaki motorcycle was involved in a single vehicle collision at the I-95 South truck parking area at the 17 mile marker.  The driver was transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville by EMS personnel after being cited for no motorcycle license, too fast for conditions & no proof of insurance.

A brown Nissan Rogue was stopped for speeding on Highway 17 South at Kato Bay Road where driver Cheryl Saddler was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

An intoxicated subject causing a disturbance was reported at Oakridge Trailer Park at 700 North Green Street.  No charges were filed.

A white Ford Crown Victoria was stopped for speeding at the intersection of West Main and Russell Street where driver Tyboshe Mikell, 20 of Ridgeland, was found to be operating with a suspended tag due to a cancellation of insurance.  He was cited for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle as Eric's Towing took possession of the vehicle.  The license plate was seized by Officers to be turned over to the SCDMV.

A Ford Fusion and a Nissan Rogue were involved in a collision in the parking lot of the Waffle House Restaurant at 8185 East Main Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

A black Mercedes C230 was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Atnafu Miller was found to be operating under a suspended Florida driver's license from failure to pay violations.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was turned over to his passenger with the registered owner's permission.

 

OCTOBER 12, 2013

Officers responded to the parking lot of the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to a loitering complaint where numerous subjects were gathered following a high school football game.  No charges were filed.

A loud music complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates community.  No charges were filed.

A Nissan Altima struck a large bail of hay left in the roadway on North Logan Street.  No injuries were reported.

 

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Baptist Church at 1448 Grays Highway.

Deshone Allen was placed under arrest at the Dairy Queen Restaurant at 80 Blue Heron Drive in reference to a warrant being issued against him stemming from a domestic dispute at the Advance America location on October 11th.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

OCTOBER 11, 2013

A red Toyota Tercel was stopped for moving violations at the Adams Street BP station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard where driver Dimario Garrett was found to be operating under a suspended driver's license as well as having an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from unpaid court ordered fines on a receiving stolen property conviction in December 2012. After being placed under arrest he was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and cocaine.  Vehicle passenger Jocelyn George was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failure to comply with court ordered community service stemming from a minor in possession of alcohol charge on February 14th, 2013.  Both subjects were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Cleland's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a brother and sister at Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue where Shaontay Anderson, 26 of Ridgeland, was cited for assault & battery 3rd.

SHAONTAY ANDERSON

A suspicious person was reported at the Main Street Barbecue Restaurant at 8084 East Main Street.

Officers responded to a report of gunshots at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates community.  Several spent shell casings were discovered on the front porch and occupants inside the residence refused to cooperate with Officers.  Evidence collected has been submitted to the Beaufort County Forensics Laboratory for analysis.

A small black purse was reported stolen from inside of a vehicle at the Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street sometime between 7 and 8:00 pm on October 10th.

Joseph Habersham Jr. turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers in reference to an outstanding warrant stemming from a violation of restraining order offense at Baytree Apartments on September 20th.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Ridgeland Officers as well as Jasper County Deputies responded to the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road after a 911 call was received reporting a suspect firing gun shots from a white Kia passenger car.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

A suspicious person was reported at the Jasper County School District Office at 10942 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

OCTOBER 10, 2013

An open door was discovered at an unoccupied residence on East Adams Street.  Officers searched the home before securing the door.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the H&H Furniture store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A red Saturn L200 was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Anthony Clark Jr., 29 of Philadelphia PA, was found to have an unrestrained child in the vehicle as well as a quantity of marijuana in his possession.  He was cited for the offenses before being allowed to leave the area.

Officers responded to a report of an open security door at the Ridgeland Post Office at 7554 West Main Street.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on Industrial Park Road.

A missing juvenile was reported at a residence on Sailfish Circle in Carters Mill Estates.  He was located shortly after and returned to his parents.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Middle School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

 

OCTOBER 9, 2013

Matthew Hatchell, 17 of Ridgeland, was captured on surveillance video shoplifting items from the Star Point BP station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  He was placed on trespass notice for the property at the request of the Store Manager.

A property damage complaint was filed by a resident of Baytree Apartments at 107 First Avenue in reference to someone keying her vehicle.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Shadetree Street in Carters Mill Estates.  No charges were filed.

A domestic dispute was reported at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  No charges were filed.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland High School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

 

OCTOBER 8, 2013

Michael Reeves was placed under arrest at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive in reference to an outstanding petit larceny warrant being issued against him stemming from an incident on October 5th.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at C&C Millwork at 119 Industrial Park Road.

A suspicious vehicle was reported behind the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A report of possible gunshots was filed at Oakridge Trailer Park at 700 North Green Street.  Officers discovered an open door on a vacant residence which was searched and secured.

A vending machine was damaged at the Quality Inn Motel at 221 James Taylor Drive.

Officers conducted a welfare check on a possibly mentally ill subject at a residence on Augusta Avenue.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Palmetto Eye Specialists office at 10911 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

 

OCTOBER 7, 2013

Jasper County Detectives located Adrian Holmes at the Coosawhatchie Baptist Church where he was detained in reference to an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department for failure to appear on an open container charge from June 29, 2012.  He was turned over to Ridgeland Officers and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A Nissan Maxima parked in the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store parking lot at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard was struck by a vehicle which fled the area without reported the collision.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Jasper County Courthouse at 265 Russell Street.

A gray Honda Accord was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Sibyl Ann Hiers, 27 of Walterboro SC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was cited for the offense and assigned a court date before being allowed to leave the area.

A Honda Accord struck the truck parking area entrance sign on I-95 North.  No injuries were reported.

 

A harassment complaint was filed by a resident of Heron Crossing Apartments at 313 Heron Crossing Drive.  No charges were filed.

A Chevy Trailblazer struck a deer on I-95 North.  No injuries were reported.

 

OCTOBER 6, 2013

A green Buick Century was towed by Eric's Towing from the intersection of Smith's Crossing and Wise Streets after it was found unattended parked partially in the roadway.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the H&H Furniture store at 10706 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A black Kawasaki motorcycle was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where driver Robert Hornsby III was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Elite Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A loud music complaint was received from a resident on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates community.  No charges were filed.

A blue GMC Sierra was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Surour Alkaabi was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as the vehicle was turned over to his passenger at his request.

A Cadillac and a Chevy Tahoe were involved in a collision at the drive thru of the McDonalds Restaurant.  No injuries were reported.

 A suspicious person was reported at the intersection of East Main Street and North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A black GMC Envoy was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Marciano Obispo Florendo was found to be operating without a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A missing juvenile was reported at the Econo Lodge Motel at 511 James Taylor Drive.  Officers located the juvenile at a residence on Old House Road and returned him to his parents.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Kingdom Touch Ministries Church at 6714 Tillman Road.

 

OCTOBER 5, 2013

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Live Oak Farm Road.  No charges were filed.

A robbery report was filed by a subject at the Adams Street BP Station at 10728 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  After reviewing the video surveillance footage Investigators were able to identify Michael Reeves, 30 of Ridgeland, as the primary suspect and issued a warrant affidavit charging him with petit larceny.

MICHAEL REEVES

A subject at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville reported that he had been assaulted and robbed by a male in the parking lot of the Captain Bill Road BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Charges are pending review of the surveillance video footage.

A report of illegal drug activity was filed at Turpin Park at 901 North Logan Street.  No charges were filed.

A truck was found stuck in a drainage ditch on North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A female was assaulted by another at the performance stage area of the Gopher Hill Festival.  Both were detained by Officers and questioned.  After gathering witness statements one of the females was ordered to leave the festival.  No charges were filed at the victim's request.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on West Main Street.

A Toyota SUV backed into a parked Harley Davidson motorcycle on South Jacob Smart Boulevard at the Main Street intersection.  No injuries were reported.

 

A juvenile was reportedly assaulted on West Main Street by the Jacob Smart Boulevard intersection where a handgun was allegedly displayed.  As Officers attempted to gather information, witnesses as well as the victim and victim's family members, became uncooperative and refused to identify any suspects or supply any information.  No charges were filed.

Officers discovered an open door at the Fashion Tree store at 7784 West Main Street. The business was cleared and secured.

A loud music complaint was filed at a residence on Sailfish Circle in the Carters Mill Estates community.

Shana Smith was arrested at the Bobop's Convenience Store at 8548 Grahamville Road in reference to outstanding warrants issued against her stemming from larceny and financial transaction card fraud charges on October 3rd.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A report of a subject making threats was filed at the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  No charges were filed.

A larceny was reported at the Beauty World Supply Store at 8205 East Main Street.

 

OCTOBER 4, 2013

A gray Mitsubishi Spyder with a NC license plate was towed by Webster's Automotive from the I-95 North on ramp at exit 21 after it had remained there unattended in excess of 72 hours.

A suspicious person was reported in front of Harvey's Grocery Store at 8205 East Main Street.

An undisclosed amount of cash and several personal checks were stolen from a purse at the Dairy Queen Restaurant at 80 Blue Heron Drive. Security video of the incident is being reviewed for pending charges.

Officers responded to a civil dispute at a residence on Third Avenue.

 A South Carolina license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked at Woodridge Apartments at 414 South Logan Street.

A gray Toyota Camry was stopped for speeding on I-95 South where passenger Eboni Leopard, 20 of Charlotte NC, was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.  She was escorted to the Ridgeland Clerk of Court's office where she paid a fine for simple possession of marijuana.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Boys & Girls Club.

A forgery report was filed by a resident of Garnett SC in reference to a stolen check being cashed at the Ridgeland SCB&T branch at 10671 South Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Video surveillance of the incident has been obtained and is being reviewed for pending charges.

Officers responded to a disturbance at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street in reference to a female resident of Carters Mill Estates causing an argument.  No charges were filed.

A suspicious person was reported at K&L Granite at 11742 North Jacob Smart Boulevard where Juan Rodez, 28 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice and ordered to leave the property.

JUAN RODEZ

A domestic dispute between a juvenile and his parents was reported at a residence on Ivy Street.  No charges were filed.

 

OCTOBER 3, 2013

A white Dodge Charger was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Akeem Jones was found to be operating without a driver's license and without proof of insurance at which time he was placed under arrest along with passenger Venus McKinney who was charged with allowing an unauthorized driver. During inventory of the vehicle Officers located several unlabeled prescription pill bottles containing an assortment of various narcotics.  Both suspects were transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Cleland's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A possible telephone scam was reported at a residence on First Avenue.

A Piggly Wiggly Greenbax Rewards card was stolen at the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store at 10847 North Jacob Smart Boulevard and used to purchase items at businesses in Ridgeland and Beaufort.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Shana Smith, 24 of Ridgeland, in reference to the theft.

 

   SHANA SMITH

A black Nissan Sentra was stopped on I-95 North after Ridgeland Officers received information that the vehicle was being sought by Yemassee Police in reference to several local area business scams.  Driver Torris Goodmant was placed under arrest after Officers discovered he was operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license as passenger Michael Coulter, of Orangeburg SC, was turned over to Yemassee Officers. Goodmant was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Little T's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Sunoco Station at 11965 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.

A report of property damage was filed in reference to an apartment window on North Green Street being damaged by a suspected bb gun.

A white Ford Expedition was stopped for an expired tag on Wilson Street where driver Sharhonda Petway, 35 of Ridgeland, was found to be operating with no insurance coverage.  Petway was cited for both violations and allowed to leave the area as Scott's Automotive took possession of the vehicle.

Officerse responded to an activated alarm at the Ridgeland Middle School at 250 Jaguar Trail.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in front of the Ridgeland Correctional Institution on at 5 Correctional Road.

A female was captured on surveillance video stealing two money orders from the counter at the Captain Bill BP Station at 11122 North Jacob Smart Boulevard.  Charges are pending suspect identification.

 

A McCulloch chainsaw was reported stolen at R&M Small Engine Repair at 11211 North Jacob Smart Boulevard after it was picked up and then never returned to the owner as agreed.  A warrant affidavit has been filed against Jamie Nettles, 28 of Ridgeland, for the charge of petit larceny.

JAMIE NETTLES

A red Hyundai Elantra was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Terrance Chapman was found to be operating under a suspended South Carolina driver's license with one previous driving under suspension conviction.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as J&M Towing took possession of the vehicle.

A missing juvenile was reported at a residence on Ivy Street.  Officers began searching the surrounding area before the juvenile was located having reportedly been at his grandfathers house.

Officers responded to Heron Crossing Apartments at 72 Heron Crossing Drive where one of the tires on a Cadillac STS had been slashed several times.  Officers were later called back to the same location in reference to a domestic dispute where Sammy Washington, 41 of Ridgeland, was placed on trespass notice for the property.

   

SAMMY WASHINGTON

A resident on Gamecock Circle reported that she could hear someone outside of her residence.  Ridgeland Officers as well as Jasper County Deputies checked the area but found no sign of any suspicious activity.

A Honda and a Dodge passenger car were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Jacob Smart Boulevard and Captain Bill Road.  No injuries were reported.

 

Juan Rodez was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest in front of the Days Inn Motel at 8216 East Main Street.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

 

OCTOBER 2, 2013

Larry Seabrook Malphrus III turned himself in to Ridgeland Officers in reference to an outstanding warrant stemming from an alleged burglary at his residence on September 9th.  He was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

A suspicious person was reported at Taylors BP Station at 80 Blue Heron Drive.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at a residence on Queens Way in Bees Creek Plantation.

A harassment complaint was filed by a resident at Heron Crossing Apartments in reference to receiving unwanted text messages.

A silver Chevy S-10 was involved in a collision with a deer on I-95 North.  No injuries were reported.

 

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence on West Main Street.

Officers responded to the Carolina Lodge at 8260 East Main Street in reference to a dispute between a tenant and the manager.

 

OCTOBER 1, 2013

A Honda motorcycle was stopped for speeding on I-95 North where driver Sharron Dunleavy was found to be operating under a suspended Georgia driver's license stemming from a previous DUI conviction as well as operating with no insurance.  While being questioned by Officers Dunleavy attempted to drive away at which time she struck a marked patrol vehicle before fleeing on foot across the interstate into a wooded area where she was apprehended by pursuing Officers.  She was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center as Blatchley's Towing took possession of the vehicle.

Officers responded to an activated alarm at the McDonalds Restaurant at 8548 Grahamville Road.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence at Logan Lane Apartments at 544 South Logan Street where Warren Brown, 36 of Tillman, was placed on trespass notice for the property.
